Sears has a discount on Craftsman Drill set. Reg price is $79.99. This looks like a good deal for someone who wants to assemble basic IKEA furniture or drill holes to mount TV. Seems like a decent deal for people like me who are mechanically-challenged

This is the discontinued NICAD battery!! They how have a Lithium-Ion batter in 2 sizes that will work with these drills and will also introduce heavily the new "BOLT" system starting soon, and on sale on Black Friday!!!
By the way , the charger that comes with this will NOT charge the Lithiuml-Ion; only the 45 minute one will and it says so on top of it that it charges both!!!!!!

Well I don't know now. I see this is $80 on amazon. And I need a drill for IKEA and basic home installation. Rather than forking out $100 for a DeWalt. I'll get this.

I have the lithium ion version (almost identical except for the battery) and I love it. You won't be disappointed.

I dont think the NiCADs will be discontinued...they will just go down in price because of the new Lithium battery which claims 4x duration.

125 in.lbs torque? (according to sears page) That can't be right for a 19V. My little 10.8V Hitachi drill would be stronger. Anyone have one of these?

This is a very basic drill, so if you aren't used to using a drill much, it might be right up your alley. Kind of a "beginners drill" if you will. Should allow you to do basic household stuff, pre-drill holes, drive screws into drywall, etc.

This only has a 3/8" chuck, which means it will not hold larger (thicker) drill bits. Many drill bits need a drill with a 1/2" chuck, so be careful what you're buying this for. This is strictly for basic drilling purposes.

I have one very similar (if not the same, I'm too lazy to go look) and it does NOT have a lot of push to it. But then again, I don't use it when I need the extra torque, so it's great if you know what to expect from it!

This probably isn't the cheapest filler, but it is the handiest thing I've found under a buck and my usual go-to... Craftsman Keychain Screwdriver [sears.com]

will this be powerful enough to drill into concrete? i have 12 volt drill and takes some pushing and shoving to drill into conrete

can someone recommend a drill use for concrete. cuz my house is full of concrete and no wood

You need a hammer drill for concrete, one that hammers as well as turns. I just bought a large one from harbor freight, but they make smaller ones. Some people recommend to stick to corded tools for drilling into concrete, just because your cordless hammer drill can drill into concrete, does not mean that you want it to, as it can take minutes longer per hole.

Thanks but most of drills dont specifically say hammer on it. How do i found out though. Alot drills on sale on black friday but which 1 is a hammer drill
