CM Storm Quick Fire Pro Mechanical Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switch $54.99 AR
For anyone who missed the CM Mechanical Keyboard deal the other day, Newegg [newegg.com]is having a sale on these bad boys for $54.99 after $20 MIR and code 2BLKNVMW25. Free Shipping!
They are Cherry MX Brown Switches, and the board gets decent reviews. Definitely one of the lowest prices I've personally seen on these, so I will probably hop on board this one, figured I'd give everyone else the heads up too. PS: First post, don't hate if I forgot to mention something or whatever. :O |
just add price in title... something like $55AR
|
I have this keyboard and its pretty nice worth the price.

Using this exact keyboard right now, no idea where you're getting "iffy quality control". As far as my experience goes, the keyboard feels great, partial backlit keys have adjustable light levels and various modes. If you're looking for a gaming keyboard or want to use a mechanical keyboard, this is perfect for you. Some reviews say that their keyboard was DOA, but all you have to do is plug the mini usb firmly into the port on the back and make sure it's all the way in. At first I thought I received a defective keyboard, but it was because the mini usb was not fully connected.

ugh....rebate
|
Well, I got one from last deal of $60 after $10 rebate. Still trying to adjust myself for the switch. I would suggest those who are still hesitate to try a real one at your local store, say, Office Depot, Office Max, or BB, etc. I am kind of regretful jumping so quickly on this mechanical keyboard boat cause I don't feel any immediate improvement with my typing. I still like to bottom out with those cheap plastic keyboard. :) Just my $0.02.

I spent a great deal dea of time researching this kb and reading reviews. This is a very solid, quality made keyboard, in most cases people prefer it better over the Razer. Pulled a tigger and got one together with recent deal on COOLER MASTER CM Storm Xornet gaming mouse!
|
Am too lazy to mail in rebates usually. Thinking I'm gonna wait until Cyber Monday.
|
How is this compared to the Razer that was on sale a few days ago? I am using the keyboard strictly for typing and less fatigue. Thanks!

Whats the difference between mechanical keyboard such as this and the regular gaming keyboard such as Logitech G15?
|
i would bite immedietely if this had the macro buttons on the side and red switches.
i cant play FPS games with blue/brown |

I own an insurance agency and I type all day long. In my office we use only IBM Model "M' keyboards that date from the mid 1980's..I have personally produced 10's of millions of keystrokes on these things over the last 30 years. The tactile feedback is the key to it's performance, kinda hard to describe -- you have to try one for yourself -- after a few days you will never go back to a non-mechanical keyboard. I hire a lot of college kids part time for light clerical duty. When they start , they almost all say that "these old keyboards" are so "low tech"..when they leave , I have caught a few of them trying to "liberate" a keyboard. |

In for one. I'm going to compare it with the Rosewill I just bought.

The red switches let you press them multiple times in quick succession more easily. Red might be good for APM in a game with some practice but at first leads to a rare double-press of one key, plus the lowest resistance might be marginally better for the wrists. The brown switches however actually have a tactile bump at the bottom of a press which should be better for speed typing. I'm curious which of the two is quieter.
Great deal but also waiting for Cyber Monday. |
