Is this intended for car mechanics or can it be a general set to have around?

The coupon no longer shows up in my SYWM account, it must be expired. These tools are great as a general set. I don't know what your budget's like, but this can be a lot of money to spend if you don't have a specific need in mind. Harbor Freight tools are much cheaper and also good as general tools to have around.

Thanks, I'll probably end up going with this [sears.com] smaller set instead. Just wanted a general set for my dad.

I have that one, and wish I had spent some more on a set with a 1/2" drive ratchet and more 1/2" sockets. Here's a good set, although it's not a great price right now: http://www.sears.com/craftsman-15...ockType=G1

What about this [sears.com] one? Looks like a good price for the one you linked to is around $70.

Looks like a very nice set! Especially if you can find any coupons. Sears usually has at least a 5 off 50 floating around.

Yes, code "SEARS2012" brings it down to $94.99.
