Costco [costco.com] has Killerspin MyT4 Table Tennis Table for $399.99 w/ FS.

I did some research and found this [blackfriday.com] Prince table will be $319.99 at Sears on BF. That seems like the better option given that it has a 1" top vs. the 16 mm top (0.63") for the Killerspin table. Can some ping pong experts chime in please?

I read on a few table tennis forums you want somewhere between .75-1" for a "true" bounce. Or just get the same table you play the most tournaments on.

well to put it simply...killerspin is a table tennis brand and prince is not

Do you suggest the Killerspin one then even though the table top is thinner?

Update: This [galttech.com] page suggests Prince is a top brand. It looks like this is the same company known for their tennis rackets. From the page:

"I really like the Prince table tennis tables like the Prince Recreation ($419), and the Prince Competitor ($439)."

Specs wise the Prince demolishes the Killerspin and the Prince is cheaper on top of that so I'm trying to figure out the reason. The Killerspin weighs 175 lbs. and the Prince weighs 243 lbs. which suggests to me the Prince is probably more durable and solidly constructed. Perhaps Killerspin tables are higher priced in general, similar to how Sony TVs are generally priced higher than other top brands.

It depends on how seriously you are playing. A thicker surface (up to a certain point) tends to provide more consistent bounce and spin (spin may depend on the surfacing/paint job).

The Prince is probably cheaper cause it is a BF deal. I've played on a Prince table 6-7 years ago and had no complaints. Also, the KS comes with a clip on net system which is superior to a clamp on. If you get the Prince I recommend getting something like this. [amazon.com]

im pretty sure Prince is just makes recreational equipment, and not just strictly table tennis like Joola and Stiga in the US (edit: didnt realize it was the same prince that is a tennis brand). imo the bounce doesnt really make much of a difference for me unless its really off, but i play with a kettler table and i havent really noticed much of a difference from double fish and DHS tables. just a personal preference, but table tennis tables arent really things that wear from use unless you plan to move the table around a lot, so I would rather pay a cheaper price even if the construction is flimsier. the features that i care about on the table is if the height can be leveled and if its a two piece construction. afaik, its possible to obtain a used tournament quality table for around 500-600 like this [dhsamerica.com] one if you contact someone who hosts tournaments. one scratch on the table then its "unusable" for tournaments
