I'm using the G110 right now , would this G105 be a decent backup or alternative?

It's alright but the key arrangement still throws me off sometimes even though I have used it for many months. I was looking for a gaming keyboard that has keys that are comparable to the K800 but all the gaming keyboards use full size keys and a non standard layout.

Exactly what these keyboards should be worth.

Got one of these about 6 months ago for $40. Great keyboard even at that price. Only complaint is the tabs in the back don't prop the keyboard up as high as I would like.

BayArea 11-12-2012 05:58 PM

Got one..thanks and repped OP!

lawchingto 11-12-2012 06:01 PM

Newegg is also using ebay to sell this keyboard.

dwilson3k 11-12-2012 06:19 PM

Great keyboard, already have one from Meritline sale a few weeks back. At this price had to grab 1 for gift and 1 for backup.

beerdude 11-12-2012 06:24 PM

How does it compare to saitek eclipse 2 keyboard? I spill water on mine and looking for a new keyboard?

How about the Razer Arctosa [newegg.com], but it doesn't have any extra keys specifically for macros.

On topic this keyboard would be great for a gamer on a budget. Personally if I got this I would sand paper off the MW3 logo lol.

shubonker 11-12-2012 06:40 PM

Nice got one. Great upgrade from my cramped "mini" keyboard.

KVNace 11-12-2012 06:42 PM

Had been looking at backlit mechanical gaming keyboards but this is so cheap that I couldn't resist. Thanks O/P!

I don't think this is mechanical.

Nobodaddy 11-12-2012 07:42 PM

It's a good deal for the keyboard, which tends to hover around $35. I want to hold out for mechanical and/or more backlighting. Don't have another excuse for getting more keyboards.

thanks OP, just got one =)

wicked2k9 11-12-2012 08:28 PM

i have the Razer Arctosa, would u guys say this is an upgrade? theres nothing wrong with my keyboard but i wish i had a backlit one

Shotgoon 11-12-2012 08:34 PM

Had one of these, upgraded to a CM Storm Quick Fire Pro with MX browns. The backspace key gets stuck if you hit it on the left side on these MW3 keyboards which is pretty annoying. Also hated having macro keys on the left side and I never used em anyway. Other than that, nice keyboard for the price.

Trakanonn 11-12-2012 08:53 PM

Been looking for a keyboard deal for quite some time under $40 or so, this one might take the cake.. I'll sleep on it. using Dell stock makes typing a nightmare, especially in the dark.

I don't think you read his post correctly.

He WAS looking for mechanical, but this is so cheap, he picked this non-mechanical up instead.

How does the volume buttons work on this? It says it adjusts the volume but I don't see any dedicated key for it... review says something about the function key?

I blame the public school system.

committed 11-13-2012 01:35 AM

is this a quiet keyboard? or do you know a better one for a slick deal price? :D

KVNace 11-13-2012 03:17 AM

Thank you all for a great laugh in the morning. I WAS looking for a mechanical BUT I felt this great was good enough I could compromise on that feature. I also agree with burnttoast.... but now I need to head to work - since I'm a public school educator.

Mistakes happen. Regardless, I think I interpreted it as looking at a mechanical, saw how cheap this is, and decided to buy now rather than later.

BlueBeard 11-13-2012 05:48 AM

Almost bought this from Logitech's site for $38 with a promo. Definitely in at this price, might get another if I like it. I hate my Dell keyboards, except for one I had a while back that had a volume knob on it. A knob! I stopped using it because it was PS2 and my newer machine didn't have those ports (I think that's why, now I don't remember). I miss knobs.

What subject do you teach? *cue the ribs about the educational system*

Just bustin' on ya. I felt left out of all of the reading comprehension and grammar nazi-ing talk.

adealsearcher 11-13-2012 07:26 AM

Between this, the WD Black 1TB drive, and a Samsung 840 250gb drive, I'm sure spending quite a bit of dough on Newegg this month.

iiispeck 11-13-2012 08:27 AM

In for one

been needing a new backlit keyboard and prices on mechanicals are just lol

does the call of duty emblem rub off with alcohol or something?

packerfan43042 11-13-2012 09:30 AM

In for one. Thanks OP. Hope its at least a decent keyboard.

tokn 11-13-2012 09:47 AM

picked one up also, reviews on newegg seems pretty good.

LaymonsWay 11-13-2012 01:21 PM

Nice find, thanks op

Trakanonn 11-13-2012 02:49 PM

Bought one this morning, thanks. Dell stock keyboard is so frustrating, I mistype a word almost every single sentence. And I dont have a huge budget to buy an expensive keyboard.. hope this works well. I really like the "G" keys which I assume can be used in MMORPGs.

cdmoore74 11-13-2012 04:15 PM

I bought this keyboard just for the lighted buttons. I'm typing in dark conditions right now and it sucks trying to feel for the worn off nubs on my $5 computer show 1990 Dell PS/2 keyboard. I have owned many keyboards but I keep coming back to this old beast with mechanical keys. Impressed that this keyboard lasted 14 years for $5. Maybe I can sell if for $10 on craigslist.

Unrelated:
Hard to believe my 14 year old mechanical keyboard is selling for around $50 on ebay. And that's used.

So is this the cheapest decent backlit keyboard? i don't care for the gaming part.

I concur ;) almost a year after my g500 was making some weird noise I contacted them and they sent me out a brand new one and I kept the old one, The clicking sound was me moving the middle clicker on top of the mouse, So now I have two G500 mice ;)

Trakanonn 11-14-2012 09:39 AM

So I ordered this yesterday morning, and it's already in route to be delivered to my house this afternoon according to my tracker.

Now that is AWESOME. Newegg+1

I can play in the dark, have extra macros keys, own a gaming PC for $25, free shipping, with a insane warranty? Sounds too good to be true.. We'll see!
