Today after i checked my account in BOA online and later when i signed off, i saw the offer from BOA giving $10 gift card of either Target/Macy/Starbucks, your choice for free.

Credit Card. But again, when i tried the same for my wife account/card, it did not worked. Most likely a YMMV or depends on some other factors.

Got it on the first try but was only offered $5. Took a Target card, says:

"Please allow up to 8-10 weeks for your gift card to arrive."

No joy. Seattle, WA and tried on our joint checking account as well as the separate login for the CC under my name. No free GC for me!

I tried it several times and all I received was the overdraft protection offer. I looked in the URL and it had /noncard/ in it (which is strange as I have 2 cards with them). I did not notice right away, but the overdraft protection had a "no thanks" button. I clicked it, and then tried one lat time-- and it worked. all I got was a $5 GC, but it is better than nothing the offer info says that I was sent info in the mail, but I do not remember it.
anyway, the info might help someone else....

Signed in to my checking account for the first time in ages only to discover BOA switched my account from student to advantage tiered without informing me and have subtracted over $275 in maintenance fees since the switch. Same thing happened to me. Only reason I found out was because it's my primary account and I was transferring some money from savings to checking. I got back 3 months of fees (all that I had been charged), might be worth it to try and get some of that back. Those types of fees are easier for BofA to give back (vs. wire xfer fees, etc).

I tried an online chat just now and they are trying to tell me I authorized it. I haven't set foot in a BOA branch in 2 years (my primary checking account is through Chase). I am stopping by a branch tomorrow morning before class to raise hell until they refund the money and then close my account.

For all off you getting the Merrill Lynch ad or whatever other disappointing ad, make sure you click "No thanks", so that it won't appear again. I'm not sure though if doing that will make a GC ad more likely to come up in the future.

As someone mentioned, I think if you are a student you may not get it. I don't have a student account per se, but I did tell them I was a student when I got my card (a 321 visa). I know it's not a student card because I got it during the $400 cb promo (or at least I assume it's not a student card). I keep getting an ad about how it's never too early to be financially informed and I've tried it 5 times. No new ads or anything.

similar thing happened to me few years back when bofa took over Lasalle bank and changed all the policies, ended up paying over 200 dollars for the pleasure of dealing with BofA. Since then I have never opened a single account or creit card with them.. But last month or so they took over my oldest credit card.. Now I have to keep that open till eternity !!

Didn't see a GC offer but I did sign up to get cash back for purchases from Redbox, 360 Grille, Dollar Tree & somewhere else. The Dollar Tree rebate is 20% and I buy a lot of supplies there so it will come in handy.

Have 2 CCs with BoA, got 2 offers. Took the $5 Sbux on one card. Will sign up for the $15 Sbux card on the other. I don't spend a dime on either of these credit cards, just have them for the sake of having them (increase my average credit line age.)

I received the same mailing last week and got the same email today. $15 starbucks card for paying a bill online. The email did contain a registration code, so when I get home I'm going to see if the physical mailer maybe has a different code. If it does that means $15 starbucks and $15 target gift cards for (basically) nothing.

I guess it is only one GC/account so either Starbucks or Target Gift card (hope I am correct)
