Don't want to beg, but anybody has a spare 25 off 75 that they're not using? My external died today, and I need to back up my stuff asap. This would be an early BF treat for me. Thanks.

sphere2040 11-12-2012 03:33 PM

Just sharing my experience. I had a very bad experience with this. Crashes day 1. Non existent customer service. For the time it did work, probably gave 5 mps. Stay away.

Not sure if it was a system issue - had these specs
Win Pro 7, 64 bit, USB 3, 16 GB DDR3

I had similar experence. Mine died at 13 months just after the warranty expired.

Only 1 year warranty. Staples has a Seagate 2TB USB 3 and 2 year warranty for same $79.99.

Can anyone clarify how staples rewards work when using more rewards than the cost of the item (Like using $100 from 2 rewards coupons to buy something that's $80)? I'd imagine it just leaves you with $20 in rewards on one of the coupons (or 10 on each) but I've read otherwise somewhere on here that it works differently when using rewards online vs in store. thanks

Got one! Great that prices are finally getting back to the pre-flood $60ish for 2TB. With the 25 off 75, it came to $59 for me with no rebates to deal with!

What is better the 2TB desktop or the 1TB Portable? Both are similar price AC... but warranty is 1yr. vs. 2yr.

pretty sweet right + you don't have to fall in line on costco and end up nothing. I just got mine tonight bought it yesterday 1 day delivery I was surprised by it.
If connected to usb 3.0 light is blue, and on usb 2.0 light is green, nice now I have 3tb on my pogoplug .

asr10user 11-13-2012 08:45 PM

Does buffalo make their own drives? Anyone open one of these up to use in a server yet?

Looking at getting a few 2tb drives for black friday, if somehow I can goto three different staples at $66 each, this would be great.

yes, 60-93mb on local network, I have a cisco dual band router with 450mb transfer rate both ways and it has a gigabit lan, I never did hack my pogoplug. I don't know how to do it, I can't find a good procedure on my pogoplug 4.

Thanks for info. The USB2 works fine for movie (even HD), but backing up >200GB drives takes a looooooooooooooooooooooong time. I've being waiting on a deal on the pogoplug 4 (with USB3 and sata).

Instructions for getting ArchLinux on the Pogoplug 4. [archlinuxarm.org] Only if you're comfortable with ArchLinux though.
