Thanks to gabe1475 (There are 3 kinds of hack 1.root nook 2.boot from sd 3 install android in emmc) 1.root nook Nook Tablet 1.4.3 complete root guide for 8or16gb and install guide for GB and JB http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...?t=2037368 2.boot from sd, ten minutes hack is for nook software is still there when you pull out sd http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/20...ok-tablet/ -------------------------------------- please reference http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/20...ok-tablet/ and http://raywaldo.com/2012/09/root-...let-1-4-3/ and xda quote from a user Erechtheus: "I just built a card to boot to because I want to keep the Nook itself stock. It's really incredible. It almost makes me regret buying a Nexus 7 for myself. This one goes to my very lucky sister-in-law. ETA: If you are running off a card, buy a good Sandisk class 4 card. Don't even try Kingston. Do not buy a class 10 card, they are not well suited for this application. Class 4 has gotten the best results, class 6 next. http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...tcount=165 How to get the extra space on larger SD Cards allocated to CM10 Storage. OK I got this Extra space thing figured out now. Once you create the SD Card image using the 1208 build you will get 4 partitions on your SD Card. Partition 1: 250 MB for Boot Partition 2: 350 MB for System (Shows as * in MiniToolPartion) Partition 3: 600 MB (but type is Other) Partition 4: Fat32 SDCARD then unused partition of your SD card...mine was like 13 GB unallocated. In CM10 Storage shows like 560MB free for Apps (Really Partition 3). In MiniTool app: Step 1: Delete Partition 4 (FAT32 SDCARD) and hit Apply (Checkmark in Upper left) and wait for it to finish. Step 2: Delete the 600 MB partition (Marked "Other") and hit Apply and wait. Step 3: Create New Partition (Primary, Ext 4) call it DATA and make size whatever you want. I picked 4 GB. Hit Apply and wait. Step 4: Create FAT32 Partition of the "left over Unallocated space) call it SDCARD. Hit Apply and wait. Thats it. My CM10 now shows 3.5GB for Apps and data instead of 560MB from the 20121208 Image. Hope this helps! --- Great post from: Puch0021: Noob Friendly Install of CM10 on Internal Memory Got my Nook and installed CM 10 via the EMMC method. Pretty happy with the purchase! I found the steps to be very wordy in the wiki so here is my personal experience and the required the steps to install CM10 to the internal memory of the Nook. I chose this route because it’s the fastest and I don’t need the B&N OS compared to CM10. This is very noob friendly. Download following files and programs first so you can go through the steps quicker. Make sure to read at least the first post in each XDA thread or link so you have an idea on what you’re getting into or the ramifications of screwing up. Requirements: Two microSD cards (one to boot, the other for flashing roms and apps in recovery). You can do this with one card, but it takes longer and the directions aren’t included. Files: “NT-CWM-SD.zip” http://www.mediafire.com/?dr6bqau194389te -> required for CWM boot disk SDFormatter (https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/) -> use for formatting microsd Minitools Home (http://download.cnet.com/MiniTool...62200.html) -> use for partitioning boot disk Download the following from http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...?t=1952141 The latest flashable recovery (I recommend CWM_V6.0.1.5_emmc.zip -> This flashes the recovery to the internal storage of the Nook The latest rom: cm-10-20121207-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim.zip -> You can choose other roms if you want. The latest Gapps: gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip -> Google apps Steps: 1A) Transfer CWM_V6.0.1.5_emmc.zip, gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip, and cm-10-20121207-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim.zip to a microsd card. No need to unzip. This is first microsd card used for flashing and is where you would transfer other roms than the one I chose if you wanted to use them. 1B) Create a clockworkmod (CWM) boot SD card so you can boot into recovery (CWM v5) reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...?t=1446987. This is the second microsd card. A. this requires a microsd card with a size capacity greater than the bootfile (50mb). I used an 5yr old unknown class 1GB microsd card and it worked fine. Any size should do if this is just going to be used as a CWM recovery boot. 2) download SDFormatter (https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/) to format the SDCard. A. Open the program, select the SDCard (remember the drive letter) that you have mounted to your PC, and go to options -> format (ERASE). This totally wipes the card so remove anything from the card if you want it saved! We are now done with SDFormatter. 3) Download Minitools Home(http://download.cnet.com/MiniTool...62200.html) A. Start the program and find the micro sdcard you just formatted (it should be the same drive letter). We now need to make this card bootable for the Nook. B. Select the sdcard in Minitools. On the left hand side, under operations select delete partition. Then the drive should indicate unallocated. C. Now under operations, select Create Partition. A Create new partition window enters with parameters for the partition. Set the partition size greater than 70mb. Then select file system -> FAT32, then create as -> Primary, and then type “Boot” into the partition label so the sdcard will be named boot. Leave everything else default. Click ok. D. With the still the same drive selected, under operations tab on the left -> set active E. You should now have 3 operations pending indicated in the bottom of left panel. In the top left part of Minitool, click apply to do all the operations in sequential order. Click yes when prompted by the Apply Changes? window. We are now done with Minitool. 4) Now find the NT-CWM-SD.zip you downloaded. If you haven’t downloaded yet http://www.mediafire.com/?dr6bqau194389te A) Open the SD card folder within the NT-CWN-SD.zip file and drag only the contents of the folder (Boot.img, u-boot.bin, etc,.) to the microsd card that we just formatted. Should be four files total in the microsd. B) We are now done with the boot microsd card. SAFELY EJECT THE DISK by right clicking on the disk under my computer, and hitting eject. C) MAKE SURE YOUR NOOK IS POWERED DOWN AND OFF. Having it on while inserting the microsd will cause it to write files to the boot microsd. 5) Insert the boot microsd card into the nook (AGAIN MAKE SURE THE NOOK IS OFF PRIOR TO THIS STEP) 6) Power on the Nook and a cardboard box on a white background should appear, and then CWM recovery should be present. CWM V5. Navigate up and down with the volume buttons, the U button selects, and the power button goes back in the menu. A) Take out the microsd BOOT card and replace it with the other microsd card we created with the rom of choice we want to flash as well as the eMMC.zip. B) Navigate to “install zip from sd card” -> choose zip from sd card -> select CWM_V6.0.1.5_emmc.zip. *This will flash the newest CWM to the internal memory of the Nook* C) After flash is complete, power off (hold power button). Then holding the power button and the U nook button at the same time, it should boot into Cyanoboot. This combo is used to boot to the eMMC and access the CWM we just flashed there. 8)If Cyanoboot loads-> hold the U button and then select eMMC recovery. 9) Once in CWM v6, navigate to the following and: A) Wipe data/factory reset B) Wipe cache partition C) Navigate to advanced -> wipe dalvik cache D) install zip from sd card -> select cm-10-20121207-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim.zip and flash it and then flash gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip E) Cycle back to the starting menu in CWM and reboot the system 10) CM10 should then boot and follow the XDA thread for new updates to the Rom or help. ------------ Hope the post was helpful and to XDA forum I referenced, make sure to give thanks to the developers or anyone who was helpful in those threads. Keep reading if you want to learn more too! ______________________________________________ Make the NT rock and install Jelly Bean boot via microSD in 10 easy steps: 1) Format a good SD [google.com] card of at least 4GB in size (A good SD card should have a formatted Crystal disk [cnet.com]4k QD32 write of 1 or greater.) I found the 16gb G.Skill Cl10 cards from newegg were great - QD32 1.4. 2) Download the rather stable cm10-121208_acclaim_sd_hd_img.rar [google.com] and extract the image file using 7-zip [7-zip.org]. 3) Write the extracted image to the SD card using win32diskimager [mediafire.com]. Make sure you are writing to the SD card and not to some other portably drive or SSD on your PC! 4) Open MiniTool Partition Wizard [partitionwizard.com] and you should see your PC's partition(s) (leave these alone) and 5 partitions including the unused partition on the microSD card. 5) Delete Partition 4 (Fat 32 SDCARd) and hit Apply 6) Delete the Other partition ~600mb and hit Apply (Neither of those two partitions had any files in them. DO NOT delete the 1st or second partitions which both have the necessary files already inside.) 7) Create a new partition called DATA and select Primary and Ext 4. Make the size 1-4GB (or more) depending on app usage. This is where apps will install. It you are an app hog, them go with 4GB. I went with 2.5GB. Hit Apply. 8) Create a new partition called SDCARD and select Primary and FAT32. The size should be the remaining card space by default - leave it this way. Hit Apply. 9) Close the Partition Wizard, remove the microSD card and place it in the NT that is currently turned off (it needs to be off and not in the sleep state). 10) Turn the NT on and welcome to Jelly Bean. (If you reboot it will go back to stock NT. If you turn it off and then on it will boot Jelly Bean.) Enjoy! probably bought all the 89 dollar nooks cowboom was selling.... It's not a bad price as a week ago they were about 140-160. But I only recently started watching these. It will probably go cheaper, and that said, I probably wont buy it and will pick up a nex7. Word up, word bitches.
|
are these better quality than cowboom's? not sure what condition "certified pre-owned" will be since they don't give a grade like cowboom.
|
It does say that they are in retail packaging with a 1 year warranty so these could be the B&N refurbs vs the cowboom typed used ones.
|
Is there cm10 for this model?
|
Not a huge difference, but there is a $3 discount if you use BENSTHANKS at checkout.
I am looking for a cheap tablet for my 6 and 8 year old and this would work well. Hesitating pulling the trigger since there will probably be better deals to be had next week. Does anyone know what the difference between refurbished and certified preowned is? They both seem to come with a 1 year warranty. Also does B&N also put a new shell and battery similar to apple? |

|
Walmart's would end up about $10 more since there is tax, but you would get brand new. Also I think that one is in store only, but not sure, either way I like the specs on this one better.
|
I'd think the Tablet is significantly faster than the Color, but I also think B&N has the Tablet locked down more than the Color. I'm not an expert at the Tablet like I am the Color, though.
|
I've heard good things about this running CyanogenMod 10 w/ Jelly Bean. But I don't think I'll be biting on a tablet until ones on par with Tegra 3 chipsets start dropping to the $100 range (since the Tegra 2's or other dual-core Cortex A9 SOCs are there now).
I'm plenty happy with my Elocity A7+ and I don't really see what extra features this Nook Tablet will bring other than getting ride of Skype Video chat. |
To answer a few questions (which have largely been answered in previous Nook Tablet threads):
1. Refurbs are in retail packaging with full equipment and a plastic protector over the screen - basically, they're indistinguishable from new retail stock. 'Pre-owned' - take your chances on their definition. 2. CM7 has been stable for many months and available on SD card boot as well as internal mount. CM10 took a while but is now pretty much done and includes things like hardware acceleration. The Tablet bootloader took several months to crack, which is why it didn't take off like the Color did. 3. The Tablet has enough processing power to play 720p video. The Color does not. Bluetooth isn't available on the Tablet, but is on the Color. 4. 16 GB > 8 GB tablet for running non-stock. Pretty much most developers ignored the 8 GB version as it came out late and the partitions were a pain to deal with. If these are actually refurbs - which since the website says they're including the Quick Start Guide they probably are - this is a smoking hot deal. No, it's not the Nexus or the new Nook HD+ (which thanks to efforts of several people, just a week after release can be rooted and google apps and sideloading works and is $200 cheaper comparable hardware), but $99 for a quality 7" tablet like this is a steal. |
Thanks. Had a Nook Color tablet w/ CM7 on it awhile back, got this one to put CM10 on.
|
This doesn't have access to google play Store does it?

I REALLY want to get this, but I just feel like the price will go down further and/or the Nexus 7 8GB will drop to $125...
|
Screw it, bought one. CM7 (Android 2.3) is stable on this, and can be easily dual booted:
http://liliputing.com/2012/03/how...-card.html With 2.3 I can put the googleplay store on, correct? And 2.3 is the big upgrade that makes more/most aps work? Thanks, OP. |
SD cards preinstalled with Android 4.0 or 4.1 can be had for ~$20 on eBay or other websites. Just pop it in, and you'll have a full featured dual core tablet for around $120.

I would not recommend buying any N2A SD card, especially Android 4.0 or 4.1. N2A SD cards quite literally steal the open source community development, but in the case of the more recent versions of Android not only are they stealing but there have been reports they're doing so with the beta versions that have expiration dates. You're a lot better off doing the process yourself. Isn't particularly hard. |

This is a pretty sweet deal! I have owned a Nook Tablet with CM7 on a bootable SD for the last 6 months, and I had previously owned a Nook Color with CM7 (now being enjoyed by my grandfather). Although the Nook Tablet ran much more stably than the Color, I was still left wanting more, so I very recently got a Nexus 7 and am loving its speed, its screen, and the overall Jellybean 4.2 feel. For the real Android tablet experience, I recommend a Nexus 7. Just my two cents!
That being said, the Nook Tablet with CM7 is still quite capable, and at this price it would be a good buy for a young one, casual web browsing, or light gaming. |

|
good price! just a few bucks more than the cowboom nook tablet deal last week
|
I have 2 NT and they are great. No camera is the only down side. The battery last almost all day and the kids watch Netflix on them like crazy. They have been dropped over and over and over and they keep on going. We have a 32GB micro sd card in them loaded with cartoons, to watch on the road. We paid $180 for each and @ less then 100, I would call it a very SOLID Tablet for the prce!
IMHO I don't think the price will drop much more then this in the next few months. I've been waiting for the BB Playbok to drop below 100 for the past 6 months with no luck. At this point I would just buy another NT but I really want to try something different. |
Thanks! Bought one for Mom in Law
Was considering buying this for MIL when the Cowboom deal was available, but afraid to get a dud. Was going to try to get the Nook Color from Walmart on Black Friday since it would be brand new, but that's not a sure thing. So....hopefully this will come looking/operating like brand new and she won't even know its preowned. This is almost the same price as the Cowboom deal for me, since I have to pay tax there.

what kind of features will this thing have with CM10 on it

Certified Pre-Owned is just B&N's way of saying factory refurbished. I've bought them before and all units I've received have been indistinguishable from new aside from a sticker on the box indicating it's a refurb.

Is it me, or does it look like the picture with the male hand, on Ben's site, look a little embellished? I'm holding my 10" TF300 tab the same way and the nook appears to be as big as that in this pic. Either this male "hand model" has small hands or this pic is doctored. Just sayin'
Now i wish i didn't buy the Dopo at Bb for $90 plus tax.... oh well, technology always goes cheaper as things age can't regret once u jump on the bus. |

There is still 90% stock remaining, which tells me the demand is down (or they have a ton of stock). Good news - they may have to drop this price even further in the weeks ahead. One thing I really enjoy about the NC is the feel. It's the perfect size, feels great to hold, and the screen is outstanding. And, with two boys hammering it all year, neither one had any scratches on the screen (no screen protector). The big fail on these is the charger. They are too stiff, and will eventually fail. Any aftermarket charger will take all night to charge the unit. Bad design. |
i'm looking to get my daughter a tablet for Christmas and was leaning towards the kindle because we have prime membership and thought there could be some perks to that. To all the tech savvy folks, what is your take on that? Kindle or Nook?

And regarding the pic, it must be the wide bezel that's throwin' me off. My TF300T barely has a bezel. |
I believe the charger for the Nook has a longer connection and NOT any off the shelf charger will work. But the good news is that BN stands behind the NOOK and they are more then happy to replace the charger. I just took mine in and had it replaced.
|
Playbook is a great tablet but it lacks the development support that the NT has. Last I checked they where still having issues with trying to get a stable ROM to work on the Playbook. Plus, RIM has one foot out the door and has been in trouble for quite a while.
|
This thing is noticeablly faster than the Nook Color. I own this with Jelly Bean on it and find it to be a perfectly capable tablet. It's locked up tighter than the Color but Jelly Bean works great (the only downside being the battery drain. I have to charge it every night now).

"Thank you for Contacting Ben's Outlet, I apologize for the inconvenience this item is covered by a manufacturer warranty. Sincerely, Yuset" So, like the Color Nook I posted and purchased, this should be EXACTLY the same as the "certified pre-owned" item you walk into B&N B&M store and purchase, without, of coarse, paying state and local sales tax. (Note: these ARE NOT the "trash" available at Cowboom!!!) |
Good work Quattro and I agree Cowboom has a lot of trash. But I can't stop buying crap hoping one day I may get something that just works PERFECTLY!

A lot of the deals here have some risk, certainly higher than going to Target. Part of the process is protecting yourself in a variety of ways, including researching the seller. But because other people didn't do this for you, you're mad at them. Probably time to start looking for a deal for a mirror, though be sure to check the reseller ratings first. And if having to deal with a modest hassle of returning/challenging on your credit card/possibly getting the very thing you ordered "ruined your Thanksgiving," well that's another issue entirely. |

I received mine also. Only thing, I ordered 2 and received 4. I have only been charged for 2 and my order still shows I only ordered 2. I received tracking for 2. What to do...what to do...
|
Just got mine today as well but they kind of screwed up... I got two of them, only ordered one two seperate shipping boxes lol
|
Got mine today - also two. They seriously screwed up.
|
Are you returning the extra ones? Do you think we'll be charged for the extras? Mine all came in separate shipping boxes so I would think they could track where the extras went.
|
I also got two today...only ordered one. Weird.
Did everyone who received a double order email them earlier to ask about their order? (I did.) I'm just wondering if that somehow caused them to ship 2. |
I didn't call or email but received 2 extras.

I am going out of country this weekend. Will deal with it after I come back. |
I didn't call or email ...but hope I get two lol. I'm in Washington State so my delivery isn't schedule until 12/5 ...the package is only 1 lb so it's probably only one tablet
|
one extra bonus because of delay
|
Those who have gotten two (and I am hopeful I will as well as I've been getting double emails from them (though with the same order number and tracking info), are you seriously planning to return them if you do not hear from the store?
I'm not certain on the legality here, but if they don't charge you, and they don't ask for you to fix their error, why would you be obligated to do so? |
They are offering 20% off the extra Tablet or they want it shipped back.

I received something in the mail that I did not order. Do I have to pay for it or send it back? No, neither. It is illegal to send unsolicited goods through the mail and then bill for them. If you receive something in the mail that you did not order, you may keep it. An exception is that a charitable organization may send a gift requesting a donation without violating this law. However, you are still not obligated to donate nor to send the item back if you choose not to donate. I'm not 100% you're reading the US code correctly. Here's the entire section:

It is section B that makes me wonder, as the merchandise does not "have attached to it a clear and conspicuous statement..." More research indicates anyone trying to keep them has murky ground on which to stand at best. FTC also weighed in: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/c...pro15.shtm The unordered merchandise provisions apply to people who get unsolicited stuff and then receive a bill, not those who receive more than they ordered. The idea is to prevent unsavory firms from mailing you junk and then billing you for it. |

The other suggested FCC says they have to make arrangements to ship it back, and you can charge a handling fee, you can send them a letter saying they have 30 days to make arrangements after which you will dispose of it. Note, this is only a suggestion from the FCC
|
seems a little shady to send everybody extras. i paid through paypal so they can't charge me anything. i'll email them to send me a prepaid label, otherwise it's just going to sit at my house. i'm not going out of pocket to ship it back.
|
this is too comical. This has to show you what type of operation these guys run. I dont think they can charge your card a second time for extra and if they do dispute it. For me UPS never asked me to sign for the package they knocked and left so what ground do they stand on?
If you return it make sure they pay for shipping this isn't your fault they sent you extra. |
Has anyone else talked to these people? I haven't called or emailed and haven't received any communication from them about my extras. If I don't hear something from them by the end of next week, I'll consider them mine.

to root and install CM10 with CWM6, here's some cliff notes how to from windows
get two microsd cards - I used 4gb and 8gb class 6.. (it's actually possible to do with 1 card if you format and copy after booting from it) d/l from https://launchpad.net/win32-image.../+download : win32diskimager-binary.zip from http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/0JHJFKRM/ : cm10_121118_sd_hd.7z from http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...?t=1952141 : cm-10-20121128-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim.zip , gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip , CWM_v6.0.1.5_emmc.zip format one of the microsd cards to fat32, and to it copy cm-10-20121128-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim.zip,gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip,CWM_v6.0.1.5_emmc.zip on the other microsd use win32diskimager with the image from cm10_121118_sd_hd.7z, this makes bootable cm10 with CWM recovery, stick this in powered down nook boot into sd recovery (will be CWMv5), swap in the other microsd card flash CWM_v6.0.1.5_emmc.zip (this roots and puts cyanoboot bootloader with CWM6) power off, power on while holding n to boot into Internal eMMC recovery (will be CWMv6) wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, advanced->wipe dalvik flash cm-10-20121128-UNOFFICIAL-acclaim.zip, gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip reboot and enjoy |

$20 is a total ripoff, it's free if you learn a just little.. you can just use win32diskimager with the image from NT-CWM-SD.zip to get the same thing, a bootable CM10 install.. my instructions are for flashing the internal storage with a well developed CM10 rom, which is where you'll want to be

|
I don't think this has been posted:
http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/20...ok-tablet/ I just built a card to boot to because I want to keep the Nook itself stock. It's really incredible. It almost makes me regret buying a Nexus 7 for myself. This one goes to my very lucky sister-in-law. ETA: If you are running off a card, don't cheap out. Buy a good Sandisk class 4 card. Don't even try Kingston. |

on the other microsd use win32diskimager with the image from NT-CWM-SD.zip, this makes bootable cm10 with CWM recovery, stick this in powered down nook something wrong here |

Well, I guess they aren't TOO worried about getting their extras back... I emailed them Friday evening asking if they wanted to send me a prepaid shipping label so I could return it, but I haven't heard back from them yet. Strange.
On a side note, I opted to run CM7 from the SD card, and I'm loving the tablet like that! I'm a fairly proficient computer user, but I know nothing about all that technical stuff...still I had no problem following some of the directions on the web for creating the card and changing the size of the partition. I recommend giving it a try yourself before buying a N2A card (unless you are short on time and have cash to spare, and/or know very little about computers.) So... now that I'm realizing that android is SO much better than running it in stock mode, I probably don't mind altering the actual internal storage of the nook so much... in that case, should I be considering cm10? I'm totally diggin' it with the cm7, and I don't feel like I'm lacking anything, so I'm thinking I'll just leave well enough alone... unless some of you peeps have a good reason for switching to cm10. ;) |

Mine arrived today. Along with a friend. In a second box. Funnily, they also double shipped the french press I ordered from them. Also arrived. With a friend. In a second box. It seems like their system double shipped all their orders during a specific period of time.
Unless I hear from them, I'm not saying anything about it to them. Their mistake, they can fix it if they want. |
I also got two (ordered one). That's weird.
|
My friend e-mailed them and they said she should receive a shipping label in 3 to 5 days and to send the extra tablet back or she will have to pay for it.
|
Quote:
I wonder if they will bother demanding return of the extra $12 french press they sent me. Seems like return shipping on that would approximate the value of the item (especially considering they will then have to pay free shipping to the next person they sell it to). Until then, I'll just keep an eye on my credit card to ensure they don't try to double charge me. If they do that, I'm reporting them to the state AG and BBB. |
looks like I'm getting 2 also. The email they sent with the tracking # that's suppose to be delivered on 12/5 is a different tracking# then what was delivered today. hmmm .. I'm interested in how this all plays out.
|
I heard back from them today. They asked for my order number so they could send me a prepaid shipping label. I asked about possibly keeping the extra for 20 percent off, so I'll see what they say about that. I just wonder how that happened.
And, I'm not too surprised to see that they only have 1 percent in stock now... |

Otherwise, you could easily see plenty of shady internet businesses making this "mistake" and figuring that a non-trivial number of their customers would be too busy/lazy to return the product. |
I am not one to do all the legwork myself in getting the tablet to dual boot. I found the company below that offers a download for $10. For any that may be interested.

Also, if you spend about a half hour googling and reading threads, you'll find a free disc image you can put on your card that does the same thing. |
i just put cm10 on my tablet using the guide in this thread, should not take more than 10-15 minutes. at first i divided the files into 2 microsd, but the tablet didn't read the kingston so after i booted up with the sandisk, i reformatted it and put in the other 3 files and just continued. i don't like the dual boot stuff as i'm never doing anything nook/b&n-related stuff.
when you power up with the 1st micro, be sure to hold down "n" so you get into recovery mode, then choose "sd recovery". once you're in there switch microsd (only that part is a lil unclear on the guide). d/l-ing the 370mb file will be the only frustrating part as it's gonna take 2 hours on the slow d/l. |
I spent an hour trying to create a dual boot card and the site I was using did not have instructions on how to maintain the additional storage space of the card, in my case 32GB. For $10 I think they are charging for the legwork of a bootable SD card with support for an issues that may come up. I wish I was a bit more tech savy, but am limited in what I can do.
|
i think that's what these people selling the boot cards are banking on. prolly not worth it for a regular guy banging his head for a couple hours trying to figure this stuff out, when he can just spend $10-$20 and it's done. it's all opportunity cost.
|
Quote:
most likely you are getting the wrong instruction :) |

You could always brick the nook and ask the guy you paid 10 bucks to to fix it for a fee. It is best to know what you did to undo it if need be. |

if y'all have to pay for it then you shouldn't be delving into it in the first place.. really, it's just using a simple utility to flash an image to a card.. all the info on how to do it is being spoon fed to you

Just curious. Did the company contact anyone about the duplicate Tablets? I think they should be offering more of a 30% discount. At this point shipping back and to new customer are sunk costs.

they only have 30 days to send the return label. |

Clearly there was a major system error that was double shipping all their orders between certain dates. Really hard to see how no humans stopped it from happening. Quote:
