Early Access (Sunday 18th 5pm - Monday 19th 11:59pm) to Sears Doorbusters for Shop Your Way Members

Received an email to this link regarding early access to BF doorbusters for SYW members.

If an item doesn't have a price, I think it implies it is not accessible during early shopping or varies by local market.

Where are you seeing the list of what will be on sale online? I went to the link but it just shows the normal BF ad.

edit: I was only looking at the TV on the back page and missed the ones in the middle without prices, ignore all my comments on this thread.

I am just assuming that not all will be available for this event or maybe I am wrong. Are the items in the ad that don't show a price ones that have different prices in different markets?

Everything in the ad I see has a price.

Oh, ok, I thought I saw some items without prices, like big ticket TVs etc. There are like 64 pages of product.

lynnea6 11-18-2012 06:45 AM

The ad I saw does lack prices on some of the TVs and a few other electronics.

GoingForBroke 11-18-2012 07:16 AM

If you can see the smaller print under the add items, some say available in store, while others say available instore and at sears.com. I'm hoping that means those items will be available on sears.com for the early sale.

kwikksilva 11-18-2012 10:13 AM

Surprised more people aren't thumbing this? Surely if some of these items are available in a couple of hours - its a big deal.

Hero76 11-18-2012 10:45 AM

my guy at sears said no electronics, pretty much the sh@tty stuff that noone cares about so thatswhy noones really flocking...

PogueSquadron 11-18-2012 10:48 AM

Does anyone have any idea what the return policy on these doorbusters will be?

Edit: Nevermind, got an email from customer service, the return policy will be the same as it normally is.

TakW 11-18-2012 11:02 AM

is this early access online only or must be in store?

cpubradley 11-18-2012 11:59 AM

Is the start time 5pm CST or PST?

I know it says CST, however the clock for me shows the deals starting in 5 hours which would be 5pm PST... (think it should say 3 hours, maybe the countdown clock is wrong or is based on local timezone instead of server timezone)...

jamiecauser 11-18-2012 12:07 PM

any info on the details? prices on the nice tvs ?if all ad avail? please post :)

No one knows if TVs will even be available today. Look for the Sears doorbuster ad on SlickDeals for pricing.

stevetwjr 11-18-2012 02:04 PM

It looks like they set the timer to EST but set the sales to unlock at 5 CST (6 EST). The timer now says -1 day, 23 hrs, etc

thopkin1 11-18-2012 02:05 PM

I got the same -1 day timer. What gives?

and my timer says 3 hours left... so you must be on east coast and the timer really is using our computer time which is useless, unless you live in CST.

james04 11-18-2012 02:06 PM

does anyone know if the page with the count down timer is where the deals will be posted? Or should you search the reg web page for the item you hope is part of the sale?

Are you surprised Sears.com F'ed that up? They are just horrible.

Kren 11-18-2012 02:08 PM

Farking Sears. Can't even get the clock right.

stevetwjr 11-18-2012 02:08 PM

I tried searching, but Sears.com doesn't even have the 2200 model for sale directly from Sears, but on the Marketplace (as of rght now). I assume we use the countdown page. I guess we'll see in 52 mins (when it's 5 cst)

diehard 11-18-2012 02:24 PM

Just checked an email I received from Sears today, Subject: Get Black Friday doorbusters tonight at 5PM CST. Thanks for the count-down SEARS!

lopkiu 11-18-2012 02:27 PM

it was 3 min for me then i refreshed became -1 day

tbmd 11-18-2012 02:46 PM

It uses your computer clock, which is really crazy considering how big sears is. I guess with these good BF deals they are having to cut back on good programmers lol. If you set your computer clock to a different time the countdown clock changes as well. SMH...

I got in, but the only TVs were the Seiki 32" and 39"

ps6fsu 11-18-2012 03:00 PM

TV not on thelist

Gratificulous 11-18-2012 03:00 PM

Same. Just the two Seiki TV's are on sale; while a good price it seems to be a shady brand.

Kren 11-18-2012 03:01 PM

Seiki TV for $97 is there. Should I pull the trigger? Or just burn a $100 bill?

nonstopfan 11-18-2012 03:01 PM

I'm thinking about getting it for a friend's little brother who wants a TV for his room. He doesn't really care about the quality though... he just wants a TV, and I think a 32" would be an awesome size for that. (This is assuming, of course, the TV actually works )

Got the crock pot and the toaster oven. The 39" TV was in stock at OP KS location, decided to pass since not familiar with the brand.. Now the 39" says avail in 8-10 days at Overland Park KS for those interested.

moqueeine 11-18-2012 03:29 PM

What does anybody know about the 'Mach Speed 7'' Trio Stealth Pro Android Tablet ?' I know it's not a nexus or ipad, but I'm planning on getting myself an Ipad on Friday. This Mach Speed is 69.99, and I have 50.00 in member points that are going to expire tomorrow if I don't use them. Would this be worth the 20.00 just to have an extra tablet I could carry in my purse? Or am I wasting 20.00?

akaLTD 11-18-2012 03:29 PM

I just hope those (like me) that got the order confirmation email actually get the item. Got the 32" Seiki. My store closes at 6pm et so didn't/can't get the "ready for pickup" email.

It seemed to have started a couple minutes early (maybe as much as 5 mins). After I finished my purchase checked the TV again and was out of stock at my store .. couple minutes later out of stock at any local store.

I called Sears earlier and was transferred to the national call center and was told the BF 32" TV was going to be a Sceptre 720p but since my Sears has been running the Seiki 1080p on sale for a while was hoping it would be that one and it was. Glad I didn't go by what I was told on the phone.

marvinmtz 11-18-2012 03:42 PM

I see the following washer/dryer combo for 529 each. Is this a good price? It seems like their previous price was just over 700 each.

That's what has me worried ... so far no cancellation email. I'm afraid I didn't buy quick enough. Forgot to change the dang CC info before the sale started so had to take an extra couples mins doing that.

I really hope that doesn't happen to me. If so, I may end up lining up at Sears on Thursday now that I know exactly which 32" TV it is. I didn't want a 720p one. I took long enough to see it what 1080p and then bought it.

werewolfalpha 11-18-2012 04:01 PM

This sale was a cock-up! It kept saying the sale was over for me immediately after it started, and I arranged my damn schedule around getting home in time to watch that stupid timer tick down. Then by the time I reset my stupid clock and put a tv in my cart, they were sold out.

schlummi75 11-18-2012 04:08 PM

i am trying to order something and it will not let me put anything in my cart, it stays empty ... what a mess ..................

kingwallace 11-18-2012 04:16 PM

I got in for a 32" and got a email stating that the store I was buying from closed at 6, so it'd be processed in the morning. Let's hope it doesn't get cancelled.

akaLTD 11-18-2012 04:18 PM

I didn't watch the countdown clock just kept refreshing the page until it showed the BF items. Like I said I think it was almost 5 mins early according to my atomic clock. I always figure someones clock might be off so started checking early.

I went through the checkout so quick I missed seeing where to enter my extra $5 off shop your way reward bonus coupon. Could have had it for 5 bucks less but was more important to get it than worry about the $5.

Yeah .. my store was closed also. My CC has been charged but still worried about the statement in the email "your order will be processed when the store reopens".

snoopy916 11-18-2012 04:25 PM

Got the cancellation email :(

SeattleAshleigh 11-18-2012 04:46 PM

I have received cancellation emails for other popular items in the past and since all the stores within about 25 miles were out I decided to play it safe and order one from each of the 2 stores that had them available... just in case. As I expected, I received a cancellation email from one of the stores and (cross my fingers) another ready for pick up order from the Seattle store. I hope everything works out because my son would love a flat screen HDTV since he has an old 19 inch tube in his room.

Sears removed them for some reason. Both the 32" and 39" were on the sale page when I first checked at 5, but both have been taken off the website.

Yes, this is the same set that was a FP deal earlier this week. Most were averaging $544.99 per appliance, so I would say $528.99 each is a solid deal for the white set.

I rearranged my entire Sunday to be home for this and it wasnt sold out.. I called the store and the girl in the pick up area said "we never even had that TV, I had to cancel all the orders I got in" Unless Sears is falsely advertising for its sale on Thursday they should be getting in these TVs and I am owed one. That would be like being in line at the store getting a ticket and paying and they they say... oh no its sold out.

akaLTD 11-18-2012 08:17 PM

That small print in the ad saying "brands vary by store" really made things more confusing. When I called my local Sears I got transferred to national customer service and was told the TV would be a Sceptre 720p .. so that might be what some Sears are selling BF instead. Depending on which market you're in.

I chatted with Sears shortly after I read about all the people getting cancellation emails. Was told not to worry that my order was in .. but until I get that TV in my hands I'm not 100% sure I'll get it. I really don't want to line up at Sears but might to get this.

I like that they did this early SYWR sale and even had some the doorbusters especially that TV. But depending on how good their online inventory system works out might end up being a bad thing and get bad PR from it.

TrackboyzT 11-19-2012 09:36 AM

I will never do business with sears again man. I bought this at 5:03, got the confirmation email, then called the store for them to tell me since its within an hour of closing, they will not process it untill tomorrow (which is today). Then I called again, and they told me they were working on the orders, and that everything looked fine. Then 5 minutes later I get the cancelled email, this is bs man! By now you know the demand that black friday brings, fix your systems and inventories to compensate for the traffic. I emailed the national rep attached to my email with the complaint. I will let everyone know what happens! Good luck to everybody that didn't get the cancellation email yet!

By now you know the demand that black friday brings, fix your systems and inventories to compensate for the traffic. I emailed the national rep attached to my email with the complaint. I will let everyone know what happens! Good luck to everybody that didn't get the cancellation email yet!

can you post or message the email address please.

Sears has pissed off a lot of people here.

They're screwing me on the coffeemakers. The 12.99 coffeemaker magically turns to 14.99 at final checkout (the screen after shopping cart). The 59.99 magically turned to 64.99 at first, and now it turns to 69.99!!!

akaLTD 11-19-2012 11:31 AM

Got my cancellation email today also. This was after being reassured last night by the online chat rep that it wouldn't get cancelled. I had the feeling they couldn't tell for sure. But it still sucks waiting so long to find out and having my credit card charged the full amount.

Tried to email Sears CEO, marketing person and a few others. So far one address used has been returned as undeliverable. We'll see what happens. I was nice and polite but basically said that having the sale when stores closed and waiting until the next day to get cancellation email was not the best way to handle it. And that they needed a better online inventory/ordering system to handle these events.

I picked up my 32" TV today...right after the store opened and it took them 10 minutes to find it...I made sure to inspect the box and it had no damage - maybe the orders were cancelled when the employees found that some of the TVs were broken? Someone posted last night that the TV they received had a shattered screen.

It might be this one: imran@customerservice.sears.com

In which case, don't bother. It doesn't lead to a "national rep," only generic customer service. I know, because I've been trying to deal with these people for quite some time now.

I HATE SEARS... no wonder this gawd awful store is on the verge of going extinct. HOW do none of these stores have the TV that is being advertised to the entire country on Thursday! I got hung up on by the sears customer service # waiting for a call back from the store manager. Im so mad... its not just a cheap TV to me anymore its the principle.

And they hate you. Good christ at the entitlement on display. The TV's were sold based on individual store inventory which was advertised as limited. If a store has five tvs and receives 60 orders simultaneously someone gets screwed. Grow up and deal with it.

I left work early to try and snag one. Sold out before I placed order. Shrugged and moved the hell on because that's what adults do.

As an aside if having less than $100 tied up for 48 hours before the bank involved can process a refund is an issue for concern you shouldn't be spending it anyways. Act like adults not spoiled damn children.

I bought one, and paid for one, then they cancelled it... no ENTITLEMENT HERE... it DID NOT say out of stock. Its simple stores should not ever sell something that they do not have period end of story. and on top of that ... they WILL have them in stores by Thursday for the ad they need to honor what they sold to people.

And so did a ton of other people who ordered from that same store. The item was available in limited quantities. It's also advertised as no rain checks. If more orders are received than supply before the system can update and process them then orders are canceled once processed and available stock is exhausted. Welcome to every website ever. Enjoy your stay.

Actually Mr smarty pants.. I talked with girl at the store pickup desk they havent gotten a delivery of any of these TVS yet. So that is not what happened in my case.

Taloo 11-19-2012 01:30 PM

Odd since Sears stores don't have a pickup desk. But lets just assume you meant "someone in package pickup".

Entirely plausible, Sear's inventory is handled by a 3rd party shipping company. It's not unknown for items that should be on a truck to not show up. Such as two years ago when my TV wasn't on the truck three weeks in a row when it should have been.

What's implausible is that your order was canceled due to a shipping error. You should have been offered the choice of either canceling your order (assuming you were processed order #1-however many units were to be available) or waiting for the delayed items to arrive. If the items were not going to be available at that location at all you would have received an apology and notice, and likely an alternative product of equal or higher value as a customer satisfaction effort. I say should but what I really mean is would have been if this were as you state it to be.

Of course there's also the chance you spoke with someone who had already had 50 phone calls that day from people who were entitled to a TV and were told something to get you off the phone. Since both parties would have been aware that the discussion wouldn't resolve anything.

sigh 11-19-2012 01:31 PM

My issue is that I ordered something yesterday that still shows available in the same store today. However, they cancelled the order. I could still go online today and attempt to purchase at the discounted price and pickup at the same store.

I just reordered 10 minutes ago and it is already ready for pickup at a different store. It was a cake pop maker that one of my kids wanted for Christmas. Would life go on without it? Yes. It is annoying that almost 24 hours later, the item still shows available. I highly doubt there was a run on the item!

Ah thanks, in the past I have found conversations with customer service from sears great. I do know that things often change around Black Friday.

In the past, Sears has been good about stock. Even with things like refrigerators and washer/dryers, if it was in the ad you could get it for that price even when they ran out so I was shocked.

I called the store I was scheduled to pick up at and they say they never had the tvs. I remember someone saying earlier that some stores will carry this tv and others a different one? So I wonder if the stores that have the different tv automatically cancel all orders. IDK, but I do agree life should go on.

I sure wish I'd get that email for the additional points. Maybe eventually I might, but not holding out hope that for either.

My complaint is not so much that my order got cancelled ... it's that because my store was closed when the sale started I didn't get to find out until the next day. For this type sale they should have it when ALL stores open so you get the cancellation sooner. Rather than thinking all night that your order went through. Especially when online chat assures you several times that it won't get cancelled .. maybe he could see something that I didn't know.

Here's a couple email addresses I found .. neither have returned as undeliverable yet but I don't expect much from these either .. but never know. Just felt good to offer suggestions on how it could be handled in the future.

Nope. If you add to your cart and goto checkout you should see it drop to $529. Use the $35 coupon to drop even further. I went a saw these units in person today. Pretty nice. Mostly does basic things. The Samsung units ($599 at Sears and Best Buy) are all in all the same as the Kenmore's but they have steam which might be a big plus.

The $599 Samsung's at Lowes are pretty nice two. They are blue (if you like color) and look to have a couple more features then the Sears and Best Buy Samsung's at the same price.

I however, after seeing all of them might opt for the Kenmore Elite Doorbuster at Sears for $649. It's a top loader but a couple of the salesman said the extra $100 for both is totally worth it over the Samsung front loaders because it's a Kenmore "Elite" which means a ton more features and better build quality. Plus the salesman I dealt with hates front loaders because of the mildew issue.

Another thing to keep in mind is Sears has an extra %10 off appliances because of Hurricane Sandy. The salesman said he believed (because he saw nothing to tell him otherwise) that it could be added on top of any black friday deal.

Thanks so much for explaining all this. That would mean the Sears Kenmore elite would be 649 - 64.90 (Sandy discount) bringing it down to 584 which sounds good! I wonder how long these will last. I know tv doorbusters sell out fast but wonder about washing machines!

I was told today they don't have any in store. They are all in a warehouse (in my area the warehouse is in PA) and once the warehouse is out they are out. So there are is no specific number each store has, it's more company wide. He also said that doorbuster washers/dryers usually take a couple of hours to sell out. His words were if your here at 4am, you'll get one. Come in around 10am and you won't.

I received an email canceling my order for the 32 in tv. I called customer service and they said they were issuing the 100,000 points. I just received mine. I did however also email them and ask if the TV became available, could I purchase one. They had one on display and it looked pretty nice. We will see if I hear back from anyone. If not, I am ahead $100 bucks. Thanks Sears.

akaLTD 11-19-2012 07:26 PM

I think it would be a good idea for everyone to spread the word about how fast and good Sears dealt with this issue. An email to customer service or higher up might be a good idea as well. It doesn't solved the original problem of the way the sale was handled but it tells us they listened, responded to complaints and will hopefully make changes in the future. We have a tendency to spread the word really fast about bad deeds so I think it's only fair to spread good ones as well.

I will be emailing those same people (CEO, VP) I posted about earlier to thank them for responding so quickly and positively to mitigate what could have been very bad pre-BF buzz. They were willing to do what needed to be done to make sure they had happy customers. I think they deserve a lot of praise for that.

sumrtym 11-19-2012 08:27 PM

Saw a stack of at least 7 of those 32" on the floor of the store today. Interesting they are canceling orders when they seem to have them still in stores.

Send an email to consumerist. Best way to tell a retailer thank you in my opinion. A lot of stores here about it when they screw up. Not so much when things go well.

Send an email to consumerist. Best way to tell a retailer thank you in my opinion. A lot of stores here about it when they screw up. Not so much when things go well.

What is consumerist?

So now that the 'members only early' portion of the sale is done. Does that mean when they have the online regular sales for Sears will they be the exact same items, or will they have more items? And will they have things like the TV again? Just wondering...

inmyveganopinion 11-20-2012 07:56 AM

I was able to use the $100 in rewards when I picked up the 39" I bought, making it a 39" for $99. The manager was very nice by refunding and letting me rebuy w/ the rewards. Still need to find a cheap 32" for my nephew for xmas though. Kudos to Sears

pearlofafrika 11-20-2012 08:06 AM

wow, I didn't actually get a chance to order the tv, but I'm really impressed with how Sears handled this. That's a grown up move, Sears.

Did you get the tv checkout and get an order confirmation email?

Me either...no correspondence from them since the "your order details are being verified" email I received shortly after placing the order on Sunday night. Guess I'm gonna give them a call this afternoon.

Went to pick my TV up from Sears it took them 15 mins to inform me they couldnt find it, so they sent me to the TV department which of course they didnt have in stock. So i asked to speak w a manager. She got 4 guys looking around in the back for it and shocking, 30 mins later, they found mine and 3 others stashed away where they we not supposed to be aka someone who works there was hiding them in the storage room so they could purchase them themselves on black friday. But all in all I got my 32" for 97 bucks for my son so he'll be happy!!!

james04 11-20-2012 10:23 AM

Sears SYWR just called to personally apologize for the mishap with the 32" TV and let me know of the $100 in SYWR points added to my account. I suppose they do realize that a black eye just before BF is a huge no-no.

When I called the store merchandise pickup yesterday. They told me about the points to come. But they also said that Sears was going to make a substitute comparable TV available for the same price. Has anyone heard similar. The SYWR rep had no info regarding that.

Does not surprise me. Back when the Sears outlet site was worth a damb. I was able to secure a $500 shed for $69. When I arrived at the store to pick it up. The employee who rang me up over the phone said that his manager was livid with him. Apparently he had the shed stashed for himself during the clearance reduction stages.

I will bet that enough managers complained about the outlet site automatically listing there clearance items. That they now select what will be listed instead. Hence it is rarely worth looking at the Outlet site anymore.

That's probably because they had to save some to have them available in the store on Thursday since this is one of the advertised doorbusters that some people won't know about until they read the paper ad on Thanksgiving.

Good question .. I hope it's the same TV either online or in store. I assume it would be the same one in store on Thursday but then again don't really know for sure. And you know what they say about assuming. LOL

Well after being aggravated with this whole debacle...i actually just won a 32" Samsung today in a radio contest.
Still waiting for those 100,000 pts though lol

Congrats .. that was great. I never win anything. Can't even match 2 out of 6 numbers on lottery ticket. LOL

Contact Sears or Shop Your Way Rewards either via chat or email .. see if they can help you out.

delspf 11-20-2012 12:27 PM

^ I emailed sears last night about the issue. No reply back.
Thanks too. Forgot i entered the constant like 2 or 3 months ago when my TV broke. ( havent had one since lol )

akaLTD 11-20-2012 12:40 PM

I'd try using Chat .. they might be able to help out quicker.

My 24" monitor broke a couple months ago which I also use as my TV (stream DirecTV to it). Now stuck using a 19" square monitor and can't watch any movies since it's so small I can't see it. LOL I was hoping to use the Seiki 32" for monitor & TV. I might still line up Thursday if not too long to try and get it. Would be free with the points I got .. so very sweet deal. :)

Sears' regular support is notoriously slow and unhelpful. If you want to get anywhere, you'll want to contact the "Sears Cares" folks.

Those are the ones who troll websites/social media for people who bad mouth Sears. They're authorized to do far more than the front line reps.

dgb1891 11-20-2012 02:15 PM

Anyone know how long it usually takes them to reverse the charges? I have the same story as everyone else and got the rewards points but still have the charge on my card.

delspf 11-20-2012 02:20 PM

Well got in chat with sears and was told to contact show your way as the rep was unable to apply the points herself

Emailed them & explained everything, even pointed them to this thread.

akaLTD 11-20-2012 02:26 PM

Hope you have more luck with the 800 number. I really thought chat would be able to help you out. Good luck I hope you're able to get the points.

Yeah lots of stuff gets blocked on FF with no script on their site. I usually "allow all scripts" when I'm on their site. Then change back when I leave.

I printed out the PDF and took it to the store. Luckily enough, they were there and I was able to get out of there with them for $529 each! :) They'll be delivered and installed on Friday. I believe the deal lasted until last night.

juanic 11-20-2012 10:45 PM

picked up 39" tv in less than 5 mins...no issues

Don't accept that. I got my money back the same day.

Call Sears' 800 number and tell them to remove the hold. Don't let them try and tell you 3-5 days. If they say everything is done on their end and your bank has to do the rest, call your bank and have them remove the hold.

Anyone have a link to one of the instore coupons. I know they were still online yesterday, but I can't seem to find the address in my history nor the pdfs in m temp history files. I need any of them, as they are all the same link only the coupon number changes.

I'm refering to the coupons for the refridgerators/tool chests/washers/...

msivas 11-22-2012 05:05 PM

When going from discovercard.com->Sears, is it still possible to use SYWR# to get points?

james04 11-23-2012 04:04 AM

Ha Ha. I just used my $100 in points to by the Other Sekie 32" from a local store. Guess what? Cancelled!

I wonder if Sears will fork over another $100 in points. Damn!
