Currently, it is listed for $130 + Free SH.

ch0psh0p 11-19-2012 11:11 AM

The is one way to be the first to post, just say it is going to be on sale for some mystery amount.

TCSK 11-19-2012 11:13 AM

At least $79.99 FS for sure but I'm not biting unless it gets to $69.99FS!

samplixe 11-19-2012 11:22 AM

Is this for today @ 12:40PM PST? Also is there any proof this deal is going to happen? I looked at the 'today's deals' at amazon and the next lightning deal is 3PM PST and it's for a HDTV.

pengar 11-19-2012 11:24 AM

yes its listed on amazons deals. looking for $69 or better also

The hl-2240 (same printer but no duplex or wireless connectivity) will be $50 on BF

lerryjee 11-19-2012 11:24 AM

Whatever money you save on this printer, you will quickly lose in toner costs.

I just pulled down the plus sign in front of today's lightening deals--NO Brother printer and none of these deals start at 40 minutes past the hour?

Please advise...

EDIT: Found it under Black Friday Deals Week and then check under "computers & accessories"
.

Generic toner is really inexpensive and works well.

TCSK 11-19-2012 11:26 AM

Well to me it's PST. I found the deal in the electronics section.

pengar 11-19-2012 11:32 AM

Yes the generic toner can be had for under $15 and that will print about 1500 pages. If you have any other laser printers that can do better, let me know.

However I found with my Brother HL-2170 that the generic DRUMS you can find are very low quality. After the original drum wore out, I've had noticeable print quality issues fairly often and I've tried two generic drums now. (The reason I'm looking for a replacement printer.)

Yeah, the toner is a way way better deal then ink for an inkjet. And if you buy remanufactured toner for this it is pretty much as cheap per page as you are going to find for a B/W only.

I second the drum comment.

Actually Canon LBP6000 is a grey budget printer that uses Canon 125. You won't have issues with the drum quality because everytime you replace the toner the drum is new. This is true for most HP and Canon Printers. I have slowly migrated to Canon and HP printers but can't pass up the crazy brother deals once in a while!

gwenny 11-19-2012 12:40 PM

$89.99 darn...not good enough for me. pass.

DQue 11-19-2012 12:40 PM

Fail!

pengar 11-19-2012 12:43 PM

wow, sold out quick, not a very good price either

Well, they are talking about DRUM quality after they replace the Original. It won't make any difference if they replace the Drum every time with the Toner since the Drum will still be the same. So it must be something wrong with the Brother Drum replacement quality.

I have a 2170W too and haven't had to replace the Drum yet so maybe should just look for another Printer ?

DeLaFan 11-19-2012 12:47 PM

Yeah, 89.99 was not quite good enough for me to bite either.

Staples has the 2280DW for 99.99 on BF. The extra $10 would be worth it for the scanner...but I would really like to find either of those printers for a bit less.

TCSK 11-19-2012 12:48 PM

Sorry guys. Really did think it was going to be cheaper. But dang sold out in like 10 seconds!

Link to any current deals for $50? Actually, link to any 2270DW or 2280DW that's <$90?

I'm not trolling; this is a serious question. I need a printer :)

do you need duplex and all that crap? if not just buy a HL 2240 instead

thebtran 11-19-2012 12:56 PM

the HL-2270DW 89.99 and the HL-2280DW for 99.99 at staples/Office Depot are the cheapest price this BF as far as i can see. unless you want to wait for a deal next month or next year!

Being able to print 2 to a page, double-sided means I can fit 4 pages on 1 sheet of paper. I'm studying in a program that has me printing tons of pages all the time, and it really helps. Currently I'm using an HP printer that doesn't have a duplexer, and it's a big hassle having to re-feed it all the time. I figure it's worth the extra few bucks.

dang you! see if you follow me or the trends it can happen. Now what happened to your current printer?. if you need one asap can you wait like a week? if not then depending on the state your in frys is or has been selling these samsung black n white printers for $40 and thats a pretty slick deal since toner is dirt cheap for them.. how much you wanna spend and whats the functions you are looking for?. i can tell you or at least lead you in the right direction. dj-3

if you like to play the pricematching game best bet is to find this for about $80 if its still on sale match it with staples and hit them with a 25 off 75 and it should be under $60 ac and pm should be a slicker deal ;)

GoodOmens 11-19-2012 01:05 PM

Wow 89.99 was high. Glad I got the Samsung ML-2955DW for $30 with free shipping/no tax a few weeks ago :) THAT was a deal - even if the toner is slightly more expensive then the brother printers.

bluSCALE4 11-19-2012 01:24 PM

Lame, should have just gotten it for $82 from NewEgg. For shame Amazon.

Mommy8me 11-19-2012 01:36 PM

I needed a printer and jumped on this one. Well worth the extra couple bucks ($79 + Tax on BF vs $89 via Amazon).

azngtlman 11-19-2012 02:11 PM

Got this as well. Needed a wireless printer and Brother's generic toner is way better than the Samsung ones. Seen it go for as low as $70ish throughout the course of the year, but not having to deal with PM'ing and coupons is worth it.

dom98se 11-19-2012 02:51 PM

I jumped on this one too. I've had the brother HL-2240 for the last 5+ years with no issues. I've been wanting to go wireless for the last few months after reconfiguring my home office and been waiting for a decent deal.

I would venture to say that makes little to no sense.
I have a similar Brother, it is stingy on toner, and I get replacements from China for ABOUT $15.

What is YOUR take on this?

hy_tek 11-19-2012 03:07 PM

Great printer but not at this price. I've seen it much cheaper but not lately.

Just to be clear duplex printing means you print 2 pages to one sheet of paper...one on each side not four pages to one sheet as you mentioned. ;)

He's probably printing two pages on each side for a total of 4 pages per page (each page would represent half a page on paper)
