Looking for a TV stand
I am looking for a decent TV stand for my 47" TV. Based on the ads as on Nov 19th, these are the deals I saw:
Walmart - Whalen Swivel TV stand (upto 52") - $79 Sears - Alphaline metal and glass TV stand (upto 54") - $85 Costco - Bayside Furnishings Axon TV stand - $170 Any other TV stand deals that somebody else noticed ? Please share them here. Also, does anybody have any reviews on these stands ? Leaning towards the Sears stand as its just $6 more than Walmart ( just to avoid the crowd at Walmart ! ) |
I'm looking for a stand for a 65 inch plasma . Does the size rating listed really matter? Like I assume I can put a 65inch t✓ on a "60 inch"tv stand as long as The Weight of The tv is under whatever the rated weight ofthe stand right?.

Thanks for the pointer though. |
I got my TV stand with two tower ends at Rooms to Go Outlet.
If you have an Outlet store near you, it is definitely worth it to go look at their TV stands. (was $100 total for my stand which was 72" wide + two 6 foot end shelves, all solid wood). |

I'm looking for a stand too. Either one with an attached mount so I can place my center speak on the stand, or non-mount stand that has a center compartment large enough to accommodate my center, along with room for 4 other AV components.

Just fought this battle...ended up going with this one:
http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_1015...718832001P Should fit the 50" I just bought nicely. No reviews though, take that for what it's worth, looks nice to me... $81 + tax...I had some SYWR (or whatever the hell they're called...) too, so that brought it done even more. Used coupon code KMART10PSAVINGS for 10% off. Code also gives free shipping, but it should be free anyway. Could probably use OFFERS10 as well (I'm assuming they don't stack, didn't try!); which gives 10% off if the above doesn't work. |
I ended up going with this for a 40".
$45 and has a 5 out of 5 star average on 66 ratings. http://www.amazon.com/Convenience...s=tv+stand http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...L._SL1500_.jpg |
If you can make a friend in retail, do so. These stands are horrendously marked up. Employee discounts bring them close to cost. That $159 stand could easily be brought down to $69.

Big Lots has a 47 inch + TV stand for $55 this week.
IKEA has a special on a TV stand(BESTA I guess)..Regular price is $99, this deal will make it $49. This is region specific though in general all IKEA stores should have this. I got a BESTA JAGRA last year on a similar deal and highly recommend this TV stand and this is a great price. This is the link for Dallas, TX http://www.ikea.com/us/en/store/frisco/offers BESTÅ ÅDAL tv unit 47 1/4x16 1/8x21 5/8" in black-brown Article #801.447.40 regular price $99 now $49 |

The BESTA deal is region specific. Not available in CA. |

Finally bought a TV this year from Fry's on BF. I'm using this stand I got from Target last year.
It might fit a 60" TV if it has a slim bezel. The width is 54 7/8". I'm kind of kicking myself as I should have bought the 60" one. It would have fit perfectly. If the bezel is thick, it'll hang out about half an inch to each side. I like this stand because it has a center space for my center channel, and enough space for my consoles and HTPC. It actually has doors on the sides, but I didn't install them as I like it wide open. Dunno if Target still sells it though. |
