Kpc2593 11-20-2012 12:58 AM

Not really any amazing deals. Was hoping to get an SSD but deals were better a month ago. :(

VaporTrailer 11-20-2012 01:01 AM

Yep.. it's pretty craptacular this year.
I was hoping for hot deal on the Auria WQHD monitor but no dice.

Guess I'll just go with the Dell from BB and save a few $$$

ftwelve 11-20-2012 01:40 AM

Going to have to agree with everyone else about the sub-par deals, although actually they are worse then craptacular, as the 297127 16GB Crucial ram [microcenter.com] is actually 69.99 now, so i guess they are raising the price on black Friday by 5 bucks (74.99). Also the price of the Agility 4 is the same as it has been for the last week+ and the FX 6100. So sad.

Kpc2593 11-20-2012 02:39 AM

^ Yup, that Sony nex 5n dslr is 699 in the bf sale when I can buy it right now at brand smart for 499.99. More like ripoff black Friday than sales this year.

ai42 11-20-2012 05:05 AM

Thats the best price for the Brother HL2280DW for $80, which OM and OD both have for BF for $100.

bacsilove 11-20-2012 05:05 AM

Not a single deal in the ad.

Meh, I should have known it would already be posted by the time I did.

oldpot 11-20-2012 05:39 AM

i saw about 100+ 32 Westinghouse tvs in one corner the other day at that price they might be still there come Saturday :(

lifexpert 11-20-2012 06:03 AM

24" Samsung LCD monitor for $119 + tax

- sent by iPhone App Deals & Steals 3.5.8 -

regguiy 11-20-2012 06:07 AM

nothing worth while some prices same as every day...

xKadajx 11-20-2012 06:14 AM

Which motherboard do you guys recommend? The Asrock extreme 4 or that Asus P8Z77?

cardboardbox 11-20-2012 06:23 AM

i7 2700k for $200 looked decent

sumrtym 11-20-2012 06:41 AM

LG Blu-ray burner at $55 is ok...not spectacular, but ok.

RonDo 11-20-2012 06:43 AM

Microcenter doesn't get into the hoopla of BF like they used to.

Fullmetalx 11-20-2012 06:59 AM

i really wished i got the i5 2500k

flyegg 11-20-2012 07:41 AM

really disappointed

qbunnie 11-20-2012 08:03 AM

intel 330 ssd 180gb for $99 was FP a few days ago.

Microcenter has really good CPU prices typically, but looks like they are only advertising their more expensive CPUs (for intel CPUs that is). Was sorry I missed out on the $99 2500k.

xAlias 11-20-2012 08:11 AM

Meh. I'll pass.

_hyde_ 11-20-2012 08:30 AM

Thinking of getting the 2700k for a new build. Are there any better deals out there? I hear these OC quite well, and at this price point I think I'm better off getting that as opposed to a newer Ivy Bridge CPU.

What's your take?

I thought it was a decent deal based on newegg's $320 price but MC has the 2700 for $220 right now so maybe not so hot.

ImpactPlayer 11-20-2012 09:10 AM

Guys I hate to say it, but the years of great deals on Black Friday are over :(

jpmxch 11-20-2012 09:28 AM

So they had a great processor deal before Black Friday...makes sense.

thebtran 11-20-2012 09:32 AM

are those the only processors with the 3570k or does anyone think the other ones like the z77 ud3h will be cheap as the extreme4 for 74.99?

JOHNBON2010 11-20-2012 09:43 AM

No Intel I5 for US99??

JOHNBON2010 11-20-2012 09:44 AM

where are the deals???this save me gas

gooddog 11-20-2012 09:44 AM

Wow I am crushed. It is almost as if they are laughing hard on those who missed the 2500K deal.
In a way I am glad. I won't buy any high end processor until i5-2500K - 100 dollar point is broken. That may be as much as 2 years in my estimate.

RemainCalm 11-20-2012 09:47 AM

Need to have a laugh at Microcenter, both my local Microcenters in Cincy and Columbus only had 5 2500k's available when they put them on sale a few days ago, I wasn't able to make it down that weekend, so they sold out, not a big deal, they won't raise the price before black friday, if they do, it surely won't be $60, haha, I was planning on buying enough to build a whole PC on Friday and getting a new TV, now they'll get none of my money.

Edit - Lol, just looked back at there 2011 black friday ad, they had the 2500k for $150 last year. Microcenter can eat it

inexp 11-20-2012 09:51 AM

this stupid store charges Win8 $149 as BF deal? I can buy it now at $49.
what a deal to the public!

hondaf17 11-20-2012 09:55 AM

$70 off some motherboard with a AMD 4100 or 6100 processor purchase. Not too bad.

tencent 11-20-2012 10:14 AM

no so BF for me.

Pretty sure they won't miss having people's attitude like yours on BF.

ncasolo 11-20-2012 10:30 AM

Go to page 24. Look at the 32" TV for $299. Next to it the ad says "Save $249.99" It doesn't say savings of $50 or Save $50 in fine print. Does that mean they're going to sell the TV for $50?

Their ad may be intentionally misleading...

Pretty sure they'll love having blind people's attitude like yours on BF who'll pay anything just because it's BF.

needgeech 11-20-2012 10:42 AM

Any chance I could order something for in store pickup today, and get the BF price when I pick it up on Thursday?

There's a chance... call them and ask. That's the best way to find out. Then report back!

actually looks like they didn't hop on the "BF encroaching on Thanksgiving" bandwagon. they aren't open on Thursday and open at a fairly normal 8 am on Friday (assuming the ad is national).

adamant 11-20-2012 11:04 AM

I am confused, when it says "SAVE $XX" does that mean it is regular price minus the "SAVE price". Would be nice, but I doubt it is the case (example: Duracell - regularly $11.99 - "SAVE $9.99").

I doubt that they are selling the batteries for $2, and my suspicion is that "SAVE" is just a statement of "ooo, look it is on sale".

Not sure why you have to jump to "intentionally misleading", the person that laid out the ad just might have been careless. FYI: Generally the world is not actually out to get you. I've never found Microcenter to be shady or "used care salesmanish". Really, the opposite, that they have great customer service and don't try to play games with folks. They also seem to come out as honest (but expensive) when the local news stations do "who will repair your computer honestly" spots.

Looking at the email I got today [microcentermedia.com], the same prices are listed without the word "save". I am pretty certain that those are the final prices, not "take an extra off" prices.

I am zeroing in on this. just waiting on Fry's ad on Thur morning. Looks like anything larger than 180GB will be $100+. With TD's 240GB for $140 being the best thus far, though I have seen $130AR for 240GB.

If not, guess I'll be making my way to Orange County (The only MC in Southern California)

70 off is only worth around 35-45 dollars because you can get a similar deal somewhere else when it is on sale.

I think phenom ii x 4 at 40 dollars is a better deal. I will wait for it to pop up again.

Such a major disappointment. It ruined my holiday.

BradP 11-20-2012 11:12 AM

disappointing..............

Seems like that's the intent. "Bargain" or "Super Sale" might have been better word choices.

I agree, it is nice to see them sticking to the same hours that they have in the past. They seem to treat their employees pretty decent (for retail), you see some of the same people working there for years and years. Not killing Thanksgiving might be part of that.

I don't see anything that looks like an "OMG, I HAVE to wait in line!" ting. Might swing by and snag 32GB USB3 drive or two. $15 isn't bad, they're nearby, and after lunch the lines should be gone.

mungie 11-20-2012 11:21 AM

looks like microcenter and newegg's standoff resulted in a loss for all of us.
At least tigerdirect is still a contender, offering the 3570k for $150
I wonder if MC will price match it....

thats actually pretty good idea. an i5 3570k + $40 off cheap mobo on bf.

You're right, I meant Friday. Could I order something today or tomorrow for in store pickup and pick it up Friday at the BF price??

neenski 11-20-2012 12:23 PM

pretty weak...the Antec 300 case they're selling for 60 is regularly on sale for 40.

delspf 11-20-2012 12:30 PM

Just got a survey from them yesterday asking how they could improve shopping experiences. I said price match

The only 32GB thumb drive that I saw listed was a MicroCenter branded unit that is USB 2.0 not USB 3.0.

I don't really care if a sale is exactly on BF. As far as I am concerned, BF came early this year courtesy of Microcenter, because I got an i5-2500k for $107.05 (w/tax). I have no complaints with them.

jonjonjon 11-20-2012 01:56 PM

i too was very underwhelmed by the bf ad. the only thing that caught my eye was the asrock z77 extreme4 for $74.99. but you need to buy a 3570K and im looking for a 3770K. if they offered that deal with the 3770K priced at $229.99 i drive the hour to mc. the only ssd deals are garbage ocz agility and samsung TLC drives. i would need the 240GB ocz to be the price of the 120GB before i would even think of buying one.

TheSpatulaOfLuv 11-20-2012 02:15 PM

Lame lame lame... I will spend my time elsewhere.

Thanks, I didn't catch that.

The USB3 32GB is currently $20, you're right that it's the USB2 for $15

Other than door busters, looks like a good bit of the items in the PDF are already at those prices.

You forgot to add tax and gas price. For me, that is probably..~$15 in taxes and $20 in gas. So that makes the extreme4+3570k out to $245+35=$280. Tigerdirect has the 3570k for $150 and newegg has the extreme4 for $105. $255 and no driving around is better. However, the TD deal is only in-store (they have stores?!?) so i can't get in on that one. Hopefully newegg or amazon will get down to that price point. I waited for this ad and hoped for a deal on the Auria WQHD, while fully counting on a good enough mobo/cpu combo to make the trip, now i'm just disappointed like every other slickdealer :(. Anyway, this ad is truly pathetic .

prozac4312 11-20-2012 08:03 PM

Does anyone know if all 3 LG Blu Ray players they have listed at the bottom of page 24 will be $50?

It seems weird that they'd have 3 different SKUs listed all under the same ad.

mastashake57 11-20-2012 10:11 PM

I saw the 15.4" MBP for 1599. Is that considered a good price? I couldn't tell because they didn't publish the model #.

shiroikaze 11-21-2012 08:05 AM

Please tell me some of these items can be bought and shipped online... I really like to get that Asus mobo.

Are you going to be running a lot of complex calculations with your new PC? If you're in it for gaming the 3570K will be just as good as the 3770K. No real reason to get the i7 Chip if you're looking into gaming.
