Hmm.. Not too bad. I'm in

NuNuNYC 11-21-2012 11:10 PM

Got one. Been waiting for this EXACT model which was $164.99 about a month ago.

Kerolu 11-22-2012 04:20 AM

I'm buying this for a friend. Is this better than best buy's dell monitor: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+...Id=3775865

xctmiz 11-22-2012 05:51 AM

Higher contrast ratio. Faster response. Another inch of screen. HDMI input. Better refresh rate. 3 year warranty. I think so...

philliB 11-22-2012 07:50 AM

Want to pull the trigger, but a lot of reviews on Newegg about dead pixels

I actually pulled the trigger but then cancelled minutes later figuring I should do more research. Any good sources for monitor reviews?

YFed 11-22-2012 12:02 PM

pulled the trigger! Thanks & repped

agureghian 11-22-2012 02:26 PM

Manufacturer specs like contrast ratio and response time are generally meaningless. To really compare you need a real world test.

DogAndPony 11-22-2012 02:34 PM

hdmi don't matter either. dvi is as good

jimmy.dont.ngo 11-22-2012 03:03 PM

I've owned the 20", 2x 23", and currently using the 24" led. I have never had a problem with dead pixels. The LED screen is very bright, I actually have to turn down the brightness. The color is good also. The speakers are bad, but who uses integrated monitor speakers.

I was all-but-set on this, until I started thinking more and more about IPS panels.

The current deal ($279) on the Dell U2412M really has me leaning in that direction. Yes, it's double the price, but it seems like a much, much better monitor for someone like me that does a bit of photo/video work.

Impressive. Where'd you find that deals list?

Now you've got me holding off on submitting an order with the Egg...

EDIT - nevermind, just landed in my inbox!

Jereth308 11-22-2012 10:49 PM

This is a no-brainer now compared to the 23" $109 the 24" $119 from eariler.

noungning 11-22-2012 11:04 PM

no wonder I can't get that damn code to work. UGH! I have to stay up another hour to get this.

camelian 11-23-2012 12:09 AM

The promo code EMCJJHG33 is for a product not in your shopping cart. Please check your promo code and try again.

Extra $20 off doesn't work for me

Same here

Jereth308 11-23-2012 12:11 AM

Where's that flyer? Maybe OP wrote it down wrong.

xctmiz 11-23-2012 12:12 AM

it works on the 23.6" but not the 24"

camelian 11-23-2012 12:12 AM

only good for VS247H-P

1093koney 11-23-2012 12:16 AM

Bought the 23 inch for $140 after cali tax and recycle fee. Pretty good deal compared to what office depot and staples had for their BF monitors. Wanted the 24" but 16% more money for only 4% more screen wasn't worth it. Probably won't notice anyways unless it was side by side.

Jereth308 11-23-2012 12:16 AM

Oh... looks the same. So only 0.4 in size different? I guess $119 for 23.6 is just as good.

If anyone is looking, direct link to the one that works is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6824236174

OP messed up the numbers VS248H-P and VS247H-P. Thank you for catching that :)
Thread fixed and updated.

$158.14 UGH
LOVE AND HATE CALIFORNIA

theicetiger 11-23-2012 01:44 PM

so which one is better 23.6 or 24. Is that extra .4 even noticeable

niceguywi 11-26-2012 11:49 AM

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the 23.6 inch. 159.99- 20.00 instant code - 20.00 rebate. Final price of 109.99. That's hard to beat for a brand name monitor with good reviews.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...llFullInfo

bobby2478 11-27-2012 07:47 AM

No price match, called Amazon and they said they only price matched for cyber monday, since it's tuesday they won't match. Currently they sell it for $181, which is almost $50 more then Newegg with their $20 rebate and $70 off sale price.

Sucks because I'd rather buy from Amazon, they have a better return policy then Newegg.

I'm thinking the same thing. They look almost identical, but the 23.6 is $20 cheaper ($119.99 after rebate), then the 24 ($139.99 after rebate). I'm asking ASUS what the major differences are between the 2, but don't see anything worth spending the extra $20.

This is a phenomenal deal to get a 24" monitor for right around $100.

freddingo 11-27-2012 08:20 AM

Coupon for $20 off has expired now.
