In the past, free upgrades were available. But I am not sure with this offer, if free upgrade is included or not.

Thanks OP, got one just now and registered for the rebate at the same time. I've been running Oracle VirtualBox on the MAC with Windows 8 but I've been wanting to give Parallels a shot for some time now.

FYI, if you are running Mountain Lion and multiple monitors, there are screen issues with Parallels 7. They fixed it with Version 8 but have specifically stated they are not going to resolve the issue with Parallels 7.

Will not work with Windows 8. This version is not supported, either is Parallels 8. If you have Windows 8, you are better off dual booting or using Virtual Box.

this actually works out great for me. i dont own windows so i can't run bootcamp and once in awhile there is a windows program i want to run but can't. and you can never have enough flash drives so for $1.75 after tax this worked out great.
