Seems like a good idea... Ralph's is great with double coupons... I'll start off I guess :)
Hot Pocket Calzones are on sale for $1.80; .75 off coupon (5/13 Val) doubles to $1.50. So you pay .30 Scotch Brite Heavy Duty sponges are free. On sale for $1, $1.00 off coupon in the 5/20 Val, so free :) |
Thanks for the invite!!
Thanks for the invite... Although I am not that familiar with how Ralph's and Vons work in terms of couponing, I figure that even with their "higher" prices compared to places like Winco and Super Walmart (in Chino) that you can save more using the coupons correctly and specials just like CVS.
So will be looking forward to see how this works and what coupons you use outside of SmartSource and Valasis. Was going to think about going to the GG to get lists -- but the impending strike has made me hold off for now. |
Cool idea. Have subscribed, although I am not in CA. I do shop at the Safeway equivalent here and am always on the watch for deals. I think our ads are often very similar.
Not sure if your stores have done this, but ours now have a section for 'clearanced' meats, where they put the stuff that has a 'sell by' date of today or tomorrow. Usually these only have a 30% off sticker on them, and often have the 'special price tag' pulled off, but I check these sections everytime I'm in the store, as sometimes they throw a GREAT deal in there. For example, 50 or 75% off, with the 'special price tag' left on, or better yet, a set price of 59, 79 or 99 cents for the whole package. I have bought lots of ground turkey, ribs and roasts from this section. Now I just wish our stores would double larger coupons. Ours triple coupons up to 39 cents and double up to 50 cents. No competition to do more than this. |

Go here and print the coupons... http://www2.kelloggs.com/Product/...px?id=1992 and here http://www.specialk.com/products/coupons to print the $1 off granola. Then go here http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...stcount=19 to see which deal you want to do =) Scenario 3 is nice cause it is a $10 MM =) There is also this deal- http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...count=6964 where you can get a TS3 toy too... but apparently the TS3 coupon is a major beeper.... =/ It's not that complicated I don't think... it just seems like it cause all the different scenarios. I plan to bring a ton of coupons and, the printed list of scenarios, and kind of wing-it when I get there. Hope that helps!!! |
Thanks for posting that link. The scenarios were posted in the Target thread Wiki but not there now. :hmm:
I had done scenario #1 just because I haven't had a whole lot of luck with Target and was kind of nervous. Our prices were slightly different too. I didn't realize that that were using MQ's to cover even for the "free" Fiber Plus items. I had bought just fiber plus bars so didn't use the cereal Q's to cover for those. If you follow the deals exactly, you'll get the overages. My prices were $2.75 for the cereal and $2.69 for the bars. Lots of coupons, yes... but did a bunch of other deals to make up for it. Schick Hydro Razors MM: http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...count=6109 In the target Wiki, scroll down to "Hot Deals"... you'll see a bunch more deals you can add to your cereal order. HTH also. Still YMMV. I got a sharp cashier the other day. She adjusted the discount of each Q. Still a good deal but it was not a MM deal. |
I was at Ralphs this morning and I had my last 4 beggin strips coupons (thanks to ednred for the coupons) so I had to try it again. The $5 CAT printed today, so there must have been a problem with the machine yesterday. I noticed a tag about the CAT today, and it said it goes through 8/9/11, but I think the coupons expire tomorrow.

Is anyone finding any deals at Albie's with the doublers from the "Big Book of Savings?"
I had hot pink 1.00/2 Lunchables peelies (exp. 9/30/11). They're 10 for $10 this week, so after doubler, each coupon gives me 2 free Lunchables. Also, I have 1.00/1 Keebler peelies that would pair nicely with the 1.88 wyb 6 sale, if I can find a nice cashier who will let me use 6 doublers in one transaction. My cashier today let me use 6 in one order on the Lunchables. Anyone else coming up with anything? These doublers are burning a hole in my pocket! |

Here are 2 that I did today, though they don't sound as good as yours. On 8/8, I purchased over $75 worth of groceries at Vons after VonsClub discounts but before coupons. I should have received a $10 coupon off my next order per the ad for the "4 Day Weekend Sale" event, 8/5 thru 8/8. I specifically purchased $75 worth of groceries after VonsClub discounts so that I would qualify for the $10 coupon. Unfortunately, the coupon did not print and the shift supervisor on duty refused to give me the $10.
We looked at the ad which said you get the $10 coupon "when you spend $75 or more in qualified purchased in a single transaction with your VonsClub Card or ValuePlus Card (calculated after deduction of card savings and all other discounts and savings and not including the excluded purchases below) ...." The shift supervisor stated that coupons are considered part of the "all other discounts and savings" since paper coupons appear on the Vons receipt along with club card discounts in a section called "Your Savings." I felt this was misleading since the offer terms mention "discounts and savings" but do not use the word "coupons." Further, coupons are more like a form of payment than "discounts and savings," since they are offered by the manufacturer, and transferred from the consumer to the store, rather than being offered by the store. The store will also receive payment from the manufacturer for the face value coupons, plus a handling fee. What do you think? |
call Vons customer service and ask them. Too many store employees do not think coupons are a form of payment.

I think this was addressed on their Facebook page awhile back. If I remember correctly, the total has to be above $75 after Vons store coupons. The Manu q's can reduce the amount below $75 and the cat will print. It worked for me that way for the super bowl Sunday promotion at Vons. |
Why is there not more chatter about the doublers at Albie's? I got 105.15 worth of groceries for 6.88 out of pocket! :woot:
.12 overage on Keebler cookies & Frosted Flakes .88 Pop Tarts & Nutri Grain Bars 1.00 Oscar Meyer deli meat Free fruit I know a lot of it can't be replicated because I used a lot of peelies, not insert or printable coupons. I just took my coupons around the store and matched up some items on my lunch hour. I'm sure there are more deals out there. Can't wait to see what's in the new ad! Click here for the full break down of what I did... [blogspot.com] |
Been away for a while. Is anyone having luck with EQs at Vons? Would appreciate anyone with positive or negative experiences could also state the region their online account is located. thanks
|
Quote:
For me, the eqs work fine, but NOT when I also use a mfr.q:shake:. If I even dare to try to combine them, the eq just adds back on to the total.;):omg:. So they are ok if you are NOT planning on using a mfr q. |
I used JFU ecoupons at Pavilions last night on Breyers, Reeses Ice Cream, Klondike and Starbucks. All four JFU ecoupons came off and I used the $5/15 frozen food coupon from the ad. Did not use any mq on any of those four items. I had a JFU $5/15 coupon loaded, but it did not come off as others reported it did for them. Also bought 5 boxes of Frosted Flakes, used $1 mq. Paid $11 out of pocket, but got $3 cat and all boxes had the Cars symbol, so turned it in for $5 gift card. I'm in SoCal, but like to visit NoCal :)

on my way to Albies in a little bit to get some cheap progresso soup...anyhoo, just wanted to give a heads up here since I dont know where else to put it.For those with a Smart and Final in the area, I got my smart and Final ad in the mail, and they have the farmer john smoked sausage 3 lb pack for 6.99. When you buy 3, you save 6.00 instantly.
so.. 3 x 6.99 = 20.97 -6.00 instant savings -6.00 $2 mq x 3 =8.97 for 9 pounds of sausage, or just under $1/lb. they have this same sausage for almost 12 dollars at albies! regularly, anyway. i think it was on sale for 8.xx.....but YMMV, im not sure how all S&F run their sales, if its the same sale universally, etc. there are also other participating items in the save 6.00: Bacon, ham, link sausage, and pork chops. HTH :) |

I can't seem to find the post about Hamburger Helper, but I tried it this morning at Albies and got the $2 CAT and $5 CAT. I bought 10 HH, used 2 $1/5 MQ from 8/7 GM, and 2 doublers. Paid $6, got back the 2 CATs for a $1 MM. Both CATs say thank you from general mills.
The $5 CAT says on next shopping trip, the other one says Save $2 on any item on your next shopping order. Does this mean I have to purchase an item that costs at least $2 to use the CAT? Has anyone tried Chicken or Tuna Helper to see if they give the $2 CAT? TIA Just realized I saw this deal on a blog (by socalgal) instead of here. Her blog says the deal works for hamburger/tuna. |

Anyone know how I can get on this Albertson's mailing list? My Albertson's is like 3 miles away, but I never get any ads (or stupid doublers) for them. I've updated my address on my Albys card and everything... :(
It has greatly impeded my ability to hoard Dreyer's this week. Well not greatly...I was just a little slow on it...and it wasn't free. Dreyers Ice Cream is on sale 2/$6 (retail 6.99), buy $12 worth get $4 cat. They must be going off retail because I bought two & got the cat. 6 - $1/2 = $5 - $4 cat = $1/2 (free if you use a doubler) PS: I couldn't find any Mocha Almond Fudge...is this just my Albys or has Dreyers lost their mind? |

For anyone that does have stupid doublers, the HH at Albies is still producing both CATs today.
For those that don't have stupid doublers a better deal would be to buy 10 HH for $1 each and use 3 of the .75/3 MQ from today's SS. After coupon cost $7.75, then get $7 back in CATs, a $5 CAT and a $2 CAT, so it would be .75 cents for 10 boxes of Hamburger/Chicken/Tuna helper. |

This has pretty much been my only organized trip of the summer and I'm posting a screenshot of my list in case anyone finds it helpful. Basically, HH $2 cat is printing (off of 10 for sure, I didn't want to try 6) and I got a GM cereal CAT for $2/5 (first tran) and $1.50/4 (second tran). I felt bad for paying for that much for cereal, but I've been slacking on the milk deals and I love me some Cocoa Puffs so what can you do. & file name typo fail, I know. On another note: Anyone else stop getting Fresh & Easy ads in their Sunday paper? I miss those x off y Qs they usually include. ALSO: There was a demo for Fiber One 90 calorie bars (something like that) and the lady was giving out $1/1 Qs too so look out for that..mine was in the back at the cereal endcap near the meat section. |
I found a great Budwiser $3 peelie that combines perfectly with the Bud beer/penny water deal at Albies. I bought the 20 pk of Bud light and a case of Crystal Geyser water. I was able to combine the $3 off any $3+ water peelie wyb Bud and the case of Crystal Geyser water for a penny Albies deal. The preferred card took off $2.99 and the peelie took off $3 since the water was exactly $3. For some reason I was only charged a nickel CRV for the case of water & $1 CRV for the beer. It was a great deal for me as I used an Albies gift card that I got free from a RX for the balance. I also found a bunch of other beer tearpads and rebates at Albies.
Albies had a big sheet of coupons that included coupons for $2 off Huggies, $1 off Visine, $2 off Garnier, $1.50 off 2 Pedialite products etc. They also had a booklet that said, "Pack to go back" with ten coupons for various items including $1 off 2 Ritz, $1 off one Kraft string cheese, Coke q's etc.If anyone wants the size details just lmk. Have a delightful night everyone! |

Re: Fresh and Easy...
They said today they will be phasing out all coupons in circulars by November and everything will be done via email starting December when they will issue a loyalty card, much like other stores. So, sales this week at most stores look pretty meh. I was hoping for big deals to preceed a strike. How are you guys feeling about a strike possibility? I remember last time Ralphs was giving away free meat and pumpkins to get people to cross the picket lines... |
I worked for Ralphs 15 1/2 yrs and DH worked for them 25 1/2 yrs I hope they do not strike, it's the employees that will be hurt by it not the CEO and the upper management teams.

Agreed. My hub just got screwed by his union, so SINCE he got screwed we have to tighten our belts even further, which hits the grocery budget, which means I am looking for more pre strike deals. Vicious circle.

Possibility for Free or extremely Cheap Strawberries at Fresh N'Easy.
2 for $3.00 when you buy multiples of 2 Fresh&Easy Strawberries. You buy 1, $2.49 When you buy 2, $2.49 x 2 = 4.98. Register will deduct $1.98. When Strawberries are in markdown section, prices vary per store. You still get the same discount when you buy 2, $1.98. Yesterday, I found some for 87¢ each. 87¢ x 2 = $1.74 - $1.98 = Negative 24¢ It works for any buy 2 and save items going into Markdown Bin. |

Thanks so much for the info on the free pasta! You're right that the coupon did not scan correctly and did not take $1 off. They put it in manually and I was very happy that I got a zero total with no tax! ! I got two boxes last night and five boxes tonight! (All separate transactions per the coupon) I got a Cat for free bakery cookies up to $3.50 the other day and that scanned at 00 too. They had to adjust it also. Repped.

Heads Up: FREE 1/4 lb. Sara Lee Deli Meat OR Cheese coupons @ Vons! I saw one display (freestanding on the deli counter about 14"high) @ the Vons in Northridge and one here in WLA @ Von's on National.
But GOOD LUCK trying to use them there. Northridge had NO meat or cheese. Vons on National had 2 varieties of Turkey so I got a total of 3 1/4lb packages, around $2.50 each, (coupon limit). (They have been VERY obnoxious in the past about honoring more than 3 coupons) I go to check out and it's a guy who is wearing a "Supervisor" badge. Fine. I have 4 coupons TOTAL. 3 for the meat, one for Dryers that is in the AD and I ripped it out. I bought 7 things: 3 packages of meat, 1 Dryers, fresh corn, lemonade, deli fried chicken. So, he goes to scan the Dreyers one. It only scans for 1 cent. I call this to his attention. HE says "Well, maybe we can't honor it." I show him where I ripped it out of the ad. He says "You didn't buy Dryers". I point to it on the counter. He says "Well, maybe its not good on the variety you bought. I point to the picture of the exact item on the coupon. He rolls his eyes and says "Seventy Cents" and punches that in. So, he next takes the Sara Lee coupons. The first one beeps and he hands it back to me saying "We don't take these". I told him I got it off his Deli Counter. He scans it again, it beeps. He reads it. He says "Oh, see this is not cheese." I said "Yes, it's meat". HE says, this is only good for cheese." I show him where it says MEAT OR CHEESE (in red, all caps on the coupon". HE then says, "It's not deli meat", It is in the bags from the deli, I point that out. He then says, "It's not Sarah Lee". I point out the label on the meat "SARAH LEE TURKEY". At this point I am looking for hidden cameras thinking I am being punked. Really. Finally he sighs, hands all 3 coupons back to me and says, I kid you not, "Well, maybe they don't consider Turkey "meat". I asked him to punch the coupon amount in manually as some time deli coupons for variable weight items beep. Again, he does it, reluctantly. Money comes off. I almost burst into tears. He made me feel like a felon. Not to mention the glares from those in line. When I got home, I called the Von's 800 number to complain and they said I would have to be referred to the store manager. When I told them it LIKELY WAS the manager, they said that is all they could do. Eff Vons. CalItalian, I know you are a westsider. Do you have trouble here? Where do you go? I am really upset and don't want to ever go there again. Bah. FWIW, I looked nice today too! AND was nice and happy I promise, no attitude from me. WTH??? |

Oh! I was JUST there.....didn't check the deli. Bummer. I was sad that I missed the coupon til I read your post. I SOOOOOOOOOOOO feel your pain and I likewise HATE Vons! My couponing experiences there have been horrible!!! (To say the least). I have completely avoided the store due to how nasty the employees and managers are. They are truly awful, in the experiences that I have had. I ONLY go when there is an unbeatable deal, which is not often. Then when I do go, I regret that I even tried. Terrible. Sorry for your bad time there. Your story would be funny if I didn't know how awful that feels. |

geez, you have so much more patience than I do! not that I yell or scream but I am waaay to sarcastic!! I know deep inside you wanted to strangle the mo'fo!! good luck next time. I find calling the 1800 number does nothing, because "it is up to the store manager to accept or deny valid coupons" (i hate that line!) any deals worth mentioning at ralphs? i saw the online ad and I thought for sure I would be getting free gillette body wash based on the kroger thread! |

Hi All! There were a couple great coupons in the mail in OC this week! Yesterday in the blue Valpak envelope there was a coupon good at CVS on Culver Dr. in Irvine (by the 5 fwy) for a free digital thermometer. It says just to take the coupon to the CVS Minute Clinic (when it's open) & they will give it to you for free. I picked up two for free tonight (for my kidlet & I) and they are very nice. The coupon does say for the first 100 people, but I think it's just until their stock is gone. They didn't require a CVS card or ID. No purchase necessary.
The other great coupon this week in the snail mail was a $10 off $10 at Kohl's. I found 11 coupons in the junk mail bin plus mine! I'm so happy to have $120 free Kohl's money to spend this weekend! I forgot to check to see if it was mentioned in this thread, but Ralph's has a new Spin to Win game that gives free cash (on your Ralph's card) if you win. I won $4 & $1 and used it for 2 bags of free chips tonight & paid zero! Good luck everyone! |

ISO cheap school uniforms
Does anyone know of any stores in the SFV that sell inexpensive school uniforms in small adult sizes (not kids sizes) that have fitting rooms? Some of the discount stores I've been to don't have fitting rooms and don't give you refunds. My daughter wears a junior size and her Middle School requires uniforms. One store wanted $20 for Dickies pants. Jeez... TIA. Sorry for the OT.
|
have you tried old navy? I don't know what size she wears but I think they go to like size 20 or 22.

Vons
13.5 oz. bottles of Simply Orange and Simply Lemonade
are on sale for $1.00 each at Vons and Staters, so free with the coupons.com coupons Mezzette Peppers are on sale for $1.19ea when you buy 4. There is a $.50q in AY Aug issue page 97. White corn $.20. |
Heres food for thought but the Ralphs Qs that we get with the points in the mail ... (500pts get $5)... Since Ralphs has switched a lot of the Qs to Manufacture Qs, take em now to Walmart who will take competitor Qs as long as it says MQ, mailing addy, and expiration date. Lots of em have long exp dates. HTH
PS maybe Ralphs will switch it back so you can get ur MQ & store Q but heres to your benefit. |

Try Target and Walmart. I've seen low cost white shirts and tan and blue pants specifically for school uniforms. HTH! |
The power was out for over 8 hours yesterday at the Ralphs and CVS on Mission Center Rd. at Friars. I asked at ralphs if they had to throw out all the dairy, frozen food etc., I was told no, everything is fine because they put it all on dry ice. I think I'll avoid buying cold things there for a week or so anyway.
|
Try Vanity Fair outlets, they have uniforms as well.
