seems solid i got similar with 750gb HDD 6gb RAM, same processor same graphics for $70 less but that was a steal (lenovo)

To me, these laptops aren't deals. That res is pretty bad - if you don't mind the res, you probably don't need any of these other specs.

Yeah, I'm scouting the laptop threads looking for a high-res laptop (1600x900 or better). Especially for a 15"+ screen, this resolution just won't cut it (I'm on a 1600x900 15" screen now, and it *just barely* gets the job done).

I don't even bother looking at laptops that are under $500 because I can't recall ever seeing one with better than 1366x768.

I bit. Disappointed in the screen of course, but I need a cheap powerful laptop for 3D graphics work and this fit the bill.

I was also skeptical of Acer quality, but just about every review for this laptop is 4 stars or higher, and coming from a Dell, I think just about any brand would be an improvement.
