You can combine one $400 gift card and one $75 promo gift card. Or, if your tax is $75 or greater, you can use two $400 GC's and one $75 promo card. The only limit is on the number of promo gift cards you can use per order, which is one.

Beautiful television. Only con's I can imagine would be no 3dtv and only 2 hdmi ports. If you're buying this television without a receiver with hdmi ports you probably don't care that it has only 2 and 3dtv is a joke.

Meant to ask in previous post....how's the stock sound with these? I've got a surround, but it's nothing special, and no receiver....plenty for my basement though. Would be cool if I didn't need to purchase additional audio equipment (at least at first)

It wont go that low. That was a price error last year. It was discussed in length on this forum at that time. After the mistake was realized, it went back up to $799.

BTW, I'm picking one of these up on Friday if the price stays the same. I've been limping along on an aging mitsubishi 62725 TV circa 2004ish. The green push is starting to show which means I have some caps getting bad. This should be a nice upgrade, and I'll get a 4 year square trade warranty also for an additional $145.99. That comes with in home repair/replacement up to $999.00

Have this TV. Love it. Don't know about the stock speakers because I never have/never would use them. Why have a huge HD TV and then send your sound through garbage speakers? Never understood that.

Anyway, my only caution would be this TV does not do well in very bright rooms. The screen easily washes out, especially at certain angles.

Not sure if an accurate comparison, but I have a three year old 60" version of this set and it sits in a fairly large living room (20X25). The TV speakers on mine, do have plenty of volume and don't necessarily suck, but they aren't spectacular either. The range is good, vocals are decent, but bass is lacking for obvious reasons. For sports and casual tv watching, I'd think they'd be decent enough but everyone is different.

Does this mean that I could purchase the $400 GC and get the $75 one, then use both towards the TV? If so, this TV could be had for cheap especially with the Discover Cash Back.

However, I just looked on Dells site and the promotional gift card cannot be combined with another Gift Card. Therefore, that won't work. But still using Shop Discover, you get $120 Cash back making the TV, $680 with FS. Still a GREAT PRICE.

You can use the $75 promo card along with the $400 gift card. However you can not combine the 2 in the sense of calling up Dell and asking for a $475 GC for the 2. This prevents people from buying say 3 gift cards for $400 each = $1200 and then also getting 3 Free $75 promo cards =$225 and then combining them for $1425. You can combine the 3 GC making it a $1200 GC and use a (1)$75 promo for a purchase.

Pretty sure as i have done this before myself. Dell just doesnt want you to combine multiple promo cards together. (Promo card GC is the free $75 card).

I just purchased this and I used 3 Gift Cards 2*400 + 1*75 (taxes). With Free Shipping worked out as a good deal. Plus added Discover. To use multiple cards you need to call Dell. Waited about 20 min before speaking to someone.

Sell the 2 75 gift cards on sites like plasticjungle.com for about 60 bucks.

You minus about 120 bucks off total for around

680 + tax.

Giftcards can be used together, you just CANNOT do it online. Therefore you will have to pay by phone if you are planning to use both GC. So probably the best option is Shopdiscover + $75 GC and pay online with Discover, then find something else to buy later with that $400 GC since that one doesn't expire.

So, overall is this TV worth $680-$700?

My thought process exactly.

We have a different recollection of the $699 price. The set was listed at $699 on best buys web site first thing on black friday, it sold for almost half the day until it went out of stock. Everyone that had a legitimate order got it delivered. I don't recall anything about a pricing error. BB has also sold the 60-65" version of this for $499 and that price held for several weeks without being corrected.

But while I doubt it'll hit $699 again, it might. $800 for the set is still pretty darn good when you consider the cost per square inch. I paid $900 for my 73" and love it. But I remember the BB deal specifically because I bought the set for $900 and then BB listed it for $699 the next day and by the time I got my order @$900 cancelled, BB was out of stock.

I think the primary thing at work here is BB's cash flow. When they're in need of some, they dump items at a ridiculous price.

You have to call in and that is the only way I know how to combine the gift cards. Took about 20 minutes on hold.

I see discussions about the GC's and the deal, but I haven't seen anything about the quality of the TV. Does this TV's screen fades out after a few years, like DLP's in the early and mid 2000s? I had an old DLP, and the brightness and colors fade out after using it for about 3 years or so. Does this TV suffer the same issue?

This is going to be the case with any DLP TV, but with a new bulb for around 100 bucks you will have a brand new tv again. I have the 65" version of this and am thinking about picking this up for my brother as he is in the market for a new tv.

Does anyone know how the picture compares to the new LED's that are on the market?

Thanks. lol, the one on the right is banned and just for campaigns. the one laying flat is all good. i have to clean that mess up and i have 2 other xboxes that are black in other rooms that i want to swap out so everything but the wii is black. I have the monitor 40's behind me and 2-30's hanging on the wall plus a Yahama 10" sub off behind the couch.

It does work. I used the $400 + $75 + an AMEX GC I bought from ebay. You just have to call 1-888-686-DELL & they will combine GCs for the order. It takes a while on the phone about 20 minutes. I don't care much for 3D so this is a nice deal to me.

Open the link through fatwallet.com first for 4% off. then open the new window through discover.com for the 10% off and continue the checkout through there. Worked for me

someone help me, I have 73c11 from last year later I bought poineer vsx 1121-k with 5.0 JBL home theater system, I wanted to know how the audio from TV pass back thru home theater when I am just watching TV (I don't have dish or anything that sort, I am just using antenna over the air HD and non HD channels), I talked to Mits customer care they said i have to buy a audio cable to pass the audio back to 1121-k, i am really not sure what the cable would be? can someone tell me? please let me know if i am not clear.

Actually, should work for both!

You just need an audio cable with male RCA connectors on each end. Plug one end into the digital out on your tv and the other into the digital in on your receiver.

This is an awesome DLP especially if you use Discover. I got inpatient and found one locally on BF for $799, guess I should have waited a week could have saved a lot. I would prefer the 700 series model but for this price you can't go wrong. Picture and black levels are great.

Did they stop the GC promo? The only promo I see is the $10 bonus from coinstar.

Yep, they sell the mounts on Mitsu.com. I got mine hanging on the wall and its nothing short of beautiful.

Don't see the mounts listed on the mitsubishi tv website and I don't think they sell them. This is not a thin tv and doesn't have mounting holes on the back.

Adding a little more to this thread. I checked today and the TV is being sent from DFW to MCI, so its flying from Dallas to Kansas City. Then it will be put on a truck on its way to the Topeka area. Imagine if we had to pay for shipping directly as opposed to having it built into the cost.

I have a 50" panasonic plasma set couple years old and wanted to see how far the DLP tech came along.

I was dissapointed in the following areas:
- PQ was dull and poor
- further from the center of the screen became darker and darker
- forget about putting the tv anywhere near a window or lit area, reflects everything
- I the bowing effect

If your trying to decide between say a 60" panny plasma vs this 73" Mitsu DLP for ~$800 price point, I highly suggest going with the 60" panny plasma. the only thing going for the DLP is the size.

That 60" Panny Plasma is going to be a sh%t-ton more reflective than this matte screen DLP. What model of DLP did you have? I had a 65" DLP and didn't notice any bowing. Picture wasn't "dull and poor" either.

I actually canceled my Panasonic.com plasma order and decided to go back to DLP. I couldn't deal with going smaller than what I had. I have also seen alot of complaints about image retention with Panasonic Plasmas this year, although some people are saying that they don't have a problem with it. Some also are complaining about line bleed being pretty noticeable on the 60u50.

Yeah and I canceled my freaking Panny Plasma from Panasonic.com and now it's not available from them. It looks like Dell has 30 day easy returns with free return shipping. I'm thinking about having them turn the shipment around before it even gets here. I'm waiting to see what a few other people's opinions are. If the bulbs are going to skyrocket in price in a few years then I don't want this thing. Not sure if that will happen or not though.

Does the squaretrade cover bulbs? If so I'll just complain every year that the bulb burnt out and have them send me a new one and keep em in the closet.

I don't think squaretrade covers bulbs but if you go to Mitsubishi's website sometime during your first year and say your bulb is blown they will send you a new one. It worked for me with my 65C9. They didn't make me send in the old one or anything. (good b/c it wasn't really blown).

Yeah you're probably right. I sold my 65C9 and it had like 5500 hours on it and it was still going on the original bulb.
