Your comments are bogus.:vomit:

BTTF and Matrix are great series. What's an A then?

Cujobob 11-27-2012 11:57 PM

The Matrix sequels were just terrible and you know it.

moofree 11-28-2012 12:03 AM

The Matrix was great! It's a shame they'll never make a sequel.

I purchase from Amazon UK when they have better deals than Amazon US. Takes approximately one week. Ordered the HArry Potter 8-disc collection on Blu-Ray on 19 November, and it arrived, packaged well, in the mail on 27 November.

A series for sure.

not sure about the deal though.

Picked up Jurassic Park...great price! :bounce:

Already have the BTTF trilogy from the Target deal a couple of years ago where they sold it for $15.00.

Has anyone tried playing the Back to the Future blu-ray in a sony bluray player? At the end of the product description it says region b/2, which is for europe and other places. I know certain blurays from the UK will play in other brand bluray players ok, but sony players are picky.

sisasa 11-28-2012 04:32 AM

I haven't tried it, but the title says region free so you should be fine. I have a PS3 and have ordered other region free titles from Amazon UK that have played without issue.

I have no experience with region-free blu rays. Are there some features that won't work on a PS3 (my main player)?

These seem like terrific prices, but I'm one of those overly-cautious "too good to be true" types.

Region free are better as they play in any player all over the world. Most of my boxed sets are from A.uk. If you dont mind the difference in packaging, i.e. the different rating symbols, these are great.

Twoje 11-28-2012 06:32 AM

I enjoyed the first Jurassic Park, but haven't seen the two sequels. Is the box set worth it?

Worth is purely based on opinion. For me, I thought the series got worse with each movie.

Without a doubt it got worse.... The second movie was ok...not even sure I saw the third but for this price it is hard to pass up. I love the first movie so the upgrade to blu will be worth the purchase.

This is not a too good to be true thing....

My Toy Story box set from the UK is as good as the box set here. As someone already mentioned, if you are ok with different packaging etc....these purchases are a no brainer. They will work fine in your PS3.

I'd say more like:
Jurassic: 1/3 good movies
Spiderman: 2/3 good movies
Matrix: 1/3 good movies
Back to the Future: 2/3 good movies.

Only thing these have in common is that the first movies of each series is worth watching.

Terminator 2 is one of the few where it surpassed the first film, IMO. Oh, and The Dark Knight.... though I always though Batman Begins was really good. It seemed like nobody gave it enough credit until TDK came out.

ponyboy10 11-28-2012 07:11 AM

Man, here I loved all the Jurassic Park movies! That's the trilogy I would've recommended. The first one was definitely a classic, but I thought the other 2 were still good. BTTF is one of my all-time favorites, but I have to admit 2 and 3 weren't quite so great.

Spiderman 1 was pretty good, 2 is very "meh", haven't seen 3, and I've only seen the first Matrix (which was great).

sakdeals 11-28-2012 07:14 AM

Can we use Amazon.com Giftcards in Amazon.co.uk ?

blimey85 11-28-2012 07:16 AM

I've never ordered from the UK version of the site. Noticed my Amazon card was not an option for payment, which seemed odd given they are both Amazon, but that was fine. Picked up the Matrix Trilogy for cheap. It's $35.95 on the US site.

I totally agree with you on this. T2 is the best in that series. I do like all the films in the TDKR series, each is enjoyable to watch on its own, with a greater theme tied together when seen as a whole. One of the few comic book movie series to accomplish this feat.

Side note, I was just pointing out what was similar with the four movies listed -- there are tons of great series out there that survived past the first movie. Rocky, Rambo, Star Wars/Trek, etc....

Spidey 2 is the superior flick, imho. Technically better directing, themes, flow, and acting (compare James Franco from Spidey 1 to Spider 3 - HUGE difference). I would watch Spidey 3 just for James Franco, but really, you're not missing out on much.

fair enough. i guess i mainly just couldn't get into the doc oc character for some reason. i'd have to watch it again, but i remember not liking the movie that much.

Just wondering, otherwise to use a Capital One card.

Thanks.

they do but Amazon Uk has this option that allows you to convert the amount so you dont get the fees... it is called currency converter and you can turn it on from your accounts page then on the submit order page you will see the actual price converted to US dollar

Or if you can, I didn't see it while I was checking out.

Based on reviews and price, these look like good options, but if you only need it to watch one series a single time, there are probably cheaper alternatives(used: CL or eBay, or finding the series online/or in another format)

Thank You for the help, happy to rep! I have no patience at all and want to watch Downton Abbey Season 3. Its available in the UK now, but the season on PBS doesnt even start until mid January. The series is available on Amazon UK. Im gonna be down and out for a bit so I thought perfect a couch, fire, downton abbey...not so bad! Kinda silly to buy a dvd player just for this I know but I cant find anywhere online.

Ive watched my porches and listened for that silly UPS truck all day. FedEx faked me out once. Big gifts for teens were on the truck and I figured they would come without any other outter packaging. What do you know, my 15 yr old walks in from school with a bunch of packages and asks me where I want him to put his and his bro's christmas tvs at. Ugh!!! So nice of the UPS driver and him to work together unloading all those packages! What timing!

Just thought I'd add that the Pirates Quadrilogy isn't too expensive either. Was able to pick up Spiderman Trilogy for my kids, BTTF Trilogy, and the Pirates Quadrilogy for a total of $56.19 (USD) delivered. Not too shabby.

they do but Amazon Uk has this option that allows you to convert the amount so you dont get the fees... it is called currency converter and you can turn it on from your accounts page then on the submit order page you will see the actual price converted to US dollar

You still pay the conversion fee it's just that Amazon collects it instead of the credit card company by giving you a poor exchange ratio. Amazon simply hides the fees in the conversion.

You are better off paying in pounds "if" you have a no conversion fee card like Capitol One.

Oh man, that Kubrick Collection is calling out to me for $36. So good.

What's crazy is I was watching A Clock Work Orange for the first time via amazon prime rental when I noticed this deal on my iPad. I almost have to buy this collection. Shame it does not have Dr Starngelove I haven't seen that either but want to check it out.

After doing some research looks like the UK version of the Shinning is cut down. Think I will wait for a good deal on the US version that also includes two additional films.
