Via the “Add both to Cart” button in the promotion description, OR
Via the “Add to Shopping Cart” button on each respective product information page.
The amount of the Best Value discount will be reflected on the final order checkout page and will be allocated proportionally to all promotion items in the Shopping Cart, including the Best Value item itself. For example, if the promotion offers $5 off one item worth $10 when you purchase two qualifying items worth $20 each, the $5 will be divided proportionately between the three items, so that the Best Value item will appear with a $1 discount, and each of the two other qualifying items will appear with a $2 discount.

Does not apply to orders placed with 1-Click.
Offer good while supplies last.

But I think I will wait until later. Just going to bite on the Dremel in the OP.

sdizzy 11-28-2012 05:42 AM

could you use this to carve signs?

Cutting 11-28-2012 05:46 AM

Highly recommend the flex shaft instead of the 160 pc kit. I get all my bits from harbor freight since dremel or not, the bits are only good for a few uses.

If you are trying to do it free hand then a Dremel is more comfortable but if you are following a template then you need a handheld trim router. Most people who carve signs or do inlay work use a router. Here are some carving guides [youtube.com]

Mr.Davi$ 11-28-2012 05:51 AM

Insanely good deal, the MultiTool is usually that price alone. As for bits wearing out in a few uses - I have all my original bits except for the cutting wheels so unless you are really beating these things up (job site) the bits are fine for quite a while....

iveo83 11-28-2012 05:51 AM

If you are thinking about getting a dremel to trim your dogs nails I would advise against it. I bought one for just that and my dog flipped out. She HATES it. She is a pretty good sized Labrador retriever and is not easily spooked or skittish. I saw many places about how easy it is to use the dremel to smooth dogs nails and it was a huge waste of money.

Just a heads up, the Multi-max oscillating tool from dremel only has a 1.5 amp motor. I'm sure you could make do with it if you just need it for the occasional job, but if you know this will get a lot of use you may want to get a more powerful unit. Lowes had a 3 amp porter cable on sale for $70 for black friday - but it's back up to $139 now.

I got this set back in July for $99 from Amazon. I really love the set. I've used the rotary and the trio a ton. Realize that the Trio requires the larger 3/16 shank vs the 1/8.. which unfortunately limits you to buying it's own bits from dremel. So you'll be spending some more $ to make this set useful...

Can this thing cut through 1/4" thick aluminum pipe?

That last line is not true as the A card only gives you $10.

Shahzebn 11-28-2012 07:32 AM

I just bought a craftsman corded multi-tool yesterday for $40 after reading the comparisons on the link below. I was having buyers remorse after seeing this deal until I saw that the multi-tool in this set only has a 1.5A motor. That isnt enough power considering that the dremel multi-max in the comparison was 2.5A model and was still underpowered compared to the competition.

It is an amazing deal overall, but dont buy it for the oscillating multi-tool.

Anyone know how this set compares in performance to the Craftsman Nextec Multi-Tool and Rotary Tool in this thread that went FP?

I know the Nextec is cordless, but more interested in performance and versatility. I have an old Roto-Zip that I'm looking to replace; and pretty much use for occasional odd jobs around the house. I got in on the Nextec deal, but am now wondering if I should return in and get this set. Any help is appreciated!

You can still get the Drexel 200 for $30. Says oos online but I was able to find in local store inventory and add to cart. Also saw that not too long ago the trio tool could be had for $40. I think your link is a good deal but I would rather get a case with each and full accessories for just a little more.

Ya .. Amazon had this price before...several times I might say (dremel). Nothing special here. PPL on SD are so gulible. As soon as they see FP stamp on a deal they think they hit jackpot. The only one that hits it is SD...suckers

Ride_The_Sky 11-28-2012 08:41 AM

Got it! I have been going back and forth with the deals in the stores and noticed that they had one of the tools for sale on home depot the other day, but the good one was $89. I see that this is lacking the parts to make it useful, like pipe cutter, etc. is not included.

TAX? Come on!

Ride_The_Sky 11-28-2012 08:45 AM

Home Depot has Dremel 200 for $30, is 300 that much better than 200?
Does anyone have the prices for these 3 tools individually?

soygun 11-28-2012 09:10 AM

got this but debating how useful all of these tools will be. i think the multi-max tool will be the most useful outta the bunch so i wonder if i should buy a different/higher quality oscillating unit like a bosch or other brand.

I'm in the same boat. I got the Nextec but prefer corded tools. I also have a corded multitool from Harbor Freight too. What to do? Would love to hear anybody else take on our situation.

sloepoke 11-28-2012 09:59 AM

In for one. Couldn't replicate the $40 off, but I did add the Dremel MM385-01 Multi-Max Cutting Kit, 5-Piece Linky [amazon.com] to qualify for the $10 discount, dropping the effective price of the 5-piece blade kit from $29.97 to $19.97.

nerofive5 11-28-2012 10:38 AM

supposedly the threshold for the $10 off is 28.01 of accessories [amazon.com]

Yeah. If you have a thousand tomorrows promised to you. Dremels will cut just about anything, but at a huge expense of time compare to a wet saw (stone, tile, porcelain), cold saw (metal), reciprocating saw (just about anything). You get the idea. If you have only a few feet to cut...fine. If you have dozens, or hundreds of feet to cut, buy (or rent) the proper tool. Cheers.

Well, it's for a kitchen backsplash... Only corners, outlets, and end sections would need anything cut at all. Likely it will be 2"-4" tiles being used for the project and only a small percentage of tiles would need to be cut.

yuletide7 11-28-2012 05:30 PM

it will do the job...

question is how many bits will you eat up in the process, and will they cost more than renting a wet saw for an hour from home depot... it might be close. Itll certainly take longer.

Ride_The_Sky 12-08-2012 12:58 PM

Received this did not have a chance to try them yet, but it doesn't look like pipe cutter is included..
