Attached is the rebate form.

NO UPC requested, HOWEVER they ask you submit your ORIGINAL TrueValue store receipt.

MOVERL $5 off $25

I have essentially the same model, mine has a flashlight on it as well. This thing is SLOW. Not bad for bikes or motorcycles, probably OK for sedans, would not recomend it for big SUV or truck tires unless you have some time to sit there. With that said, it is pretty decent and if you don't mind rebates toss it in your car and forget about it until you need it.

LOL, when you are stranded on side of road with flat, you seem to have hours to wait for a service truck to come get you

jomeyq 11-28-2012 05:15 AM

These things are fantastic to keep in the car. Not the fastest in the world, but just a great, no-nonsense pump and gauge the gets the job done, works anywhere, and is reliable (just topped up all four tires on my sedan with this over the weekend). I'll have to pick up a second to keep around.

almightys 11-28-2012 05:17 AM

Think about it this way, you can buy a plug kit for under $5 at walmart orunder $3 if you have a harbor freight near you. combine that with this for $0.90 and you have your roadside assistance package.

spazbam 11-28-2012 05:29 AM

This would be pretty safe for a bike tire (not that i even know how much is supposed to go into a bike tire :-/ )?

dealspider 11-28-2012 05:38 AM

I'd check for the sales flyer for the store you want to pick up the order. Didn't have any at my store in Manhattan.

Thank you OP! Repped!

teejaydub 11-28-2012 06:34 AM

Just something to keep in mind, but as someone who has worked in the tire industry at one point in his life, these things are terrible. From customers that came in, it was about a 50% chance it will fail in the first mile, and that's perhaps giving it a bit more credit than it's due. It is also an extreme PITA to clean out when you do get that tire to the repair shop, and we always charged the customer extra (company policy) if they used this type of junk. It coats the inside of the tire in a plasma type material and makes it extremely difficult to get off from the inside when you have to use an actual tire patch and blue glue.

Anyway, just a heads up. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, even free. Just check your spare tire once a year and make sure it's filled and you should be fine.

blahblahyoutoo 11-28-2012 06:34 AM

my slime inflator (without the gauge) gets VERY hot after a few minutes of use.
i'm scared to let it go for 2-3 minutes in fear of it melting.

Krmnnghia 11-28-2012 06:34 AM

In for one shipped to the store just down the street! Will be great to have when we take the Kawasaki Mule hunting up north. Always seem to get a little low after a week of heavy use.

platypus6 11-28-2012 06:34 AM

I don't live near a store. Any free shipping available?

rilaw 11-28-2012 06:34 AM

"Offer not valid in RI" Weird..lol

winglik7 11-28-2012 06:34 AM

I have the same model from amazon. it works well for regular sedans and bikes. it's slow, takes few minutes to get one tire. But it gets the job done. Since there isn't much free air in most gas station, its good to have one in the trunk.

jho 11-28-2012 06:35 AM

I like this if you can find a store near you.

Umm this does not inject the tire with that nasty tire slime. It is just a SLIME brand inflator. But good advice in general on using that stuff.

Wait - what? What fails 50% in the first mile? How does an air pump inject plasma type material in the tire? So confused.

This is a portable air compressor, not fix a flat! I agree that you should NOT use that stuff, in this prodect the slime isn't included. Great Deal Repped!

nitemare 11-28-2012 06:39 AM

in for 1. There is only one free air machine in my area. Hate paying for air. Will work well with my sub-compact car Prizm. Thanks and repped!

BursaliOzer 11-28-2012 06:42 AM

Got one!! Like said earlier, buy a tire plug kit and a needle nose pliers and you have your own tire plug service anywhere you travel. Its very easy to plug a tire :)

newhunter 11-28-2012 06:42 AM

I had different brand of similiar product. Good for emergency if you cant find gas station nearby. Yeah it will pump the air slowly but not like an hour. Probably 5-10 minutes depending of how much air you need to inflat the tire.

npatel3c 11-28-2012 06:43 AM

use discover for 5% category bonus. 75 cents will make up for yesterday's 53 cents cable that may end up being 6 inches, for those who know what I am referring to.

Edit: Taxes! OK nvm

Slime is the brand of air compressor, it isn't actual slime in a can, though I assume they do make that stuff, too.

Thats the problem. The site has ballooned in the last year in terms of numbers. Now you have to be super fast. Wish I could find another site like SD with less people, like SD was last year. I cleaned up in 2011. Got some SICK bargains. Now it's slim pickings because of competition, and that fact that SD is basically a paid promotion by NewEgg, Sears, Walmart etc etc etc etc. Its a scam now, but every now and again, you do find a true SD, like this compressor. Its just severe slim pickings these days. Bring back to the old SD!!!!

Most people don't experience catastrophic blowouts. A slow leak can strand your car in a parking lot. It happened to me at a hotel, at work, and at school. And at home, too, fwiw.

You can reinflate a tire with a slow leak and drive it to get repaired, or fix it yourself with a five dollar patch kit. 7-11 and gas stations even carry a kit.

okoneko 11-28-2012 07:38 AM

Ended up with 12 in the cart after a long delay.... then found out no stores in the area.

dealmonkey 11-28-2012 07:39 AM

I bought one of these a couple months ago from Kmart for $12. It came with a tube of Slime. The compressor works but its very slow. I ended up giving it away and buying one of these Husky compressors

http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-2...LYvyE2PWtI

. Its 3 times as fast, quieter, and more reliable imo. Well worth it when needed.

Anybody else have to pay sales tax? I had to pay a whole $1.25 for this thing!

whowhatwhere 11-28-2012 07:44 AM

Got one just now. I have one already and I have been pleased with it. It's great for filling up bike tires and for keeping my car's tires properly inflated if they are a bit low. Paying for air is bull.

This one will be a nice, practical Christmas gift.

ourwish11 11-28-2012 07:44 AM

This thing is a POS... I bought one last month, and the stupid thing is leaking air somehow after a week!! I only used it 2 times total before it developed a random leak, returned it... i guess its fine if its free lol

I think the site is OOS.

I got a page to load half way and it said that the Inventory Level was 0 for the Tire Inflator.

I could be wrong, but that's what I saw.

I live in VA, but I am from CT originally. I am heading back to CT for the holidays and have a store that i can ship to there right next to where ill be. I understand this offer is void in CT. If I pick it up from a CT store does that make it void if I supply a VA address on the rebate form?

Also I will be back in CT and can pick it up on Dec 21st. Is that too late for the rebate and will they hold it for me until then?

The nearest truvalue is in the city for me and I don't want to pay for parking just to pick up the tire inflator.

Nothing a $3 tire plug kit wont fix. Again, $5 of equip in trunk or 3 hour wait for raod side assistance as we all know who have used them that they immediately drop everything to come get you lol

Most punctures in the tread (not sidewall) can be fixed with a plug.

I would be lucky to have a blown car fuse, I bought cheap junk from harbor freight and wire got so hot it started melting the cigarette light plug and plastic started dripping on inflator. Hopefully this slime one is better.

speedracer216 11-28-2012 09:06 AM

Am I reading this rebate right that you DON'T have to include the UPC label? Don't see that on there anywhere.

So... you could get the rebate and sell it as brand new? Or even return it?

Edit: just saw someone above me noticed this too. Doesn't mean we would, just pointing out something unusual and a potentially expensive oversight for the company.

I think, the item is shipped to the store, like Staples or Walmart. It is not given from the store inventory, like Bestbuy or officedepot do. So it must be taking same time as shipped to your home.

site is up, in for 1

MrWizzard 11-28-2012 09:27 AM

Nobody who has commented so far must own one of these things.

As it says, it may take 8 minutes to inflate a tire. What it doesn't say is that after it runs for 8 minutes and gets so hot you could fry an egg on it, it automatically shuts off for the next 15 minutes.

I had a Coleman pump that ran forever - enough time to fill all four tires - that was noisy, vibrated, and got warm but that worked for almost 20 years. It just died so I replaced it with this.

First problem, it blew the fuse on the car lighter (10 amps) immediately. Then I discovered the other problems on the truck lighter (20 amps).

This thing is not worth having - even free.

rajsd 11-28-2012 09:29 AM

People who are thinking of going to the store to get one. I dont think they would be available. I went to the store now, was able to pick the last piece(kept aside by the associate for himself) in the store.

So you better order online.
