inherendo 11-28-2012 02:32 PM

Never owned a pair of Converse, but thinking of jumping on this. So you'd recommend going a size smaller than what you normally wear? Is it the same for PF Flyers?

inherendo 11-28-2012 02:39 PM

Yea, sizes for chucks run a little bit smaller. Careful with your sizing.

Kair 11-28-2012 02:40 PM

SHOES!

Chucks are the best.

AlidarJarok 11-28-2012 02:43 PM

I was going to get some but they don't have my size. It sucks having the feet of a giant sometimes.

KcJ 11-28-2012 02:56 PM

just scored a pair of pumas, thanks!

NetiK 11-28-2012 03:04 PM

Anyone ever had any Creative Recreation shoes? They have some...interesting...color choices. Wondering if they are comfy and how the sizes run.

they're very comfortable. I have a Cesario Lo and a high top Geno. both are great shoes. I use the Cesario more and it can be an everyday shoes. 6pm is a great site to deal with. repped op.

I want to buy but don't need it right now.

I'm wondering the same thing. There a couple pairs for just over $20, and I liked how they looked, but I have no idea what their reputation is.

converse shoes tend to run 1 size bigger than what you normally; for converse i would size down.

PF flyers run true to size.

I don't know about PF Flyers, but for Converse Chucks, pick about one size smaller than what you normally wear. This is because Chucks lack the heel padding of foam or whatever (it's just a piece of canvas wrapping around your foot, much like unpadded leather dress shoes). Hope this helps.

In fact it's the opposite - This shoe runs a half size large. Consider ordering a half size smaller than you normally wear.

if you're standing for more 8 hrs, they're not that comfy compares to running shoes.
CR sizes run true to size.

ranran 11-28-2012 03:21 PM

Hrrm...... always nervous about getting shoes online - 75% of the time they don't fit right. How are they on the return policy - it says unworn for returns, but, come on, we have to wear them and try them out, right? Maybe just inside to see how they feel for a bit?

Anyone have problems returning shoes to them after wearing them inside for a bit?

mikeygdawg 11-28-2012 03:29 PM

my converses run true to size

angle123 11-28-2012 03:37 PM

why are converse so ugly and people buy them?

All shoes are different and fit a differently and I hate getting a shoe that doesn't fit.

6pm is owned by Zappos or maybe it's the other way around but, Zappos has a great return policy and great customer service it's possible that it might be the same.

Im sure the same can be said about something out of your wardrobe.

I guess when I wear sneakers, I get them pretty big then. I'm comforable in a 10 in running or basketball shoes, but am a 81/2 in chucks.

theattax 11-28-2012 04:23 PM

Thanks OP! Got a pair of black converse for my sister.

krazyshopper 11-28-2012 04:39 PM

does anyone else agree with me that out of all the places we have scoured this site 6pm is the cheapest way to get the uber uber high end stuff..

I was at bloomingdales in manhattan today and the pr ices are insane. I krpt thinking this is the opposite of slickdeals.

RivalDestiny 11-28-2012 05:06 PM

The deal ends the 30th, right? I might have to run out tomorrow and try out some shoes to get the right size.

You both are meaning to say the same thing.

My normal tennis shoe/dress shoe size is 9.5 - but I take an 8 in chucks. 1 Full size down is usually totally safe. Many, like me, go down 1.5 for perfect fit.

Also, again my normal size is 9.5 but I take a 9 in PF Flyers. Ordering true to size is usually totally safe. Many, like me, go down half a size for perfect fit.

This kind of shoe design is pretty flexible because of how the laces and canvas upper can be adjusted looser or tighter along the entire length of the foot.

Hope that helps anybody on the fence.

Has anyone actually ever been able to get a "hot" deal on shoes they want in their size on 6pm? I guess if you're smaller or larger than average, it must be sweet. I find myself not even clicking on 6pm deals anymore.

jpeace 11-28-2012 06:13 PM

Found a sweet pair of Creative Recs for $21. Thanks OP

I'm sort of the same way, but I still find a good deal ever so often. I recently found some New Balance 565's for $20, which were only decent, considering the colorway.

I'm not seeing much with this deal, however. These are the same price they've been for a while and the selection is as small as I've ever seen: not to mention that I don't believe I've ever paid more then $15 for any of these brands on 6pm.

wonton 11-28-2012 07:09 PM

anyone know if their are any 6pm 10% off coupons that they usually have??

and what are some fillers so i can get my shoe over 25 :)

laidbackinNC 11-28-2012 07:16 PM

While reading this thread I started wondering who Chuck Taylor really was. Found the answer at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuc..._(salesman).

Sorry I'm responding so late. Yes go a size smaller. I'm usually 11/11.5 and I got a 10.5 a little bit ago and it was a little more roomy than I expected.

Hope you got your order in!:)

arneljr 11-28-2012 07:53 PM

Just like everyone said, make sure to get a half size smaller for converse. This is a pretty slick deal with free shipping!

dronewolf 11-28-2012 08:34 PM

Thanks man, picked up another pair of chucks. Probably some of my favorite shoots to wear.

I definitely agree. I ended up buying a pair of sneakers for $147 after tax from finishline and on cyber Monday they went on sale at 6pm. Ended up getting the same pair and another one I wanted for $170.

MonstBlitz 11-29-2012 05:55 AM

Thanks, been waiting for a good deal on Converse slips. Very comfortable shoes and it matches up with my "no laces" policy.

viny2cool 11-29-2012 06:27 AM

6PM doesnt pay return shipping, which sucks. I bought PF flyers for $ 13 last time and they don't fit. I tried to return them and the shipping charge was $7. I am stuck with them now...

WOW! I got my husband 4 pairs of sneakers for $166 - all higher end brands (saved over $180!)...thanks for posting this, was hard to resist buying myself something.

arneljr 11-29-2012 09:15 AM

Epicness, got a white slip-on chuck which had my size =)

volney3 11-29-2012 03:37 PM

Got some great shoes for the wife but even with the extra 10% code (6PMLIKE112912RTC) the Old Gringo boots are still out of my budget.

Did just use this code: 6PMLIKE112912RTC for an extra 10% the current pricing and still kept free shipping so not too bad.

pr4mojo 11-29-2012 03:41 PM

Just added that 10% off code to my original post. Thanks

Yeah. I was able to get my sister a bag from Marc Jacobs for 50 bucks on 6pm. In their store the cheapest bags go for several hundred dollars. And they also have a budget line called Marc by Marc Jacobs but even that stuff is expensive.

I wish the slickdealers community was able to come up with awesome deals on more uber high end stuff. That would be really cool. It would be the icing on the cake. Until then, that stuff is nearly impossible to afford!

Is there any difference between Converse all stars and Converse all star slim ox? Can't really tell from the picture. I know slim means the sole is skinnier but what does ox mean?

I think ox either stands for oxford or low top converses (opposed to their high tops). I personally prefer the converse slims, they just seem comfier!
Just placed another order for the black slims for myself (thanks to the poster who shared the 10% code- will rep ya!)

I wear an 11.5 in pretty much any brand shoe, including Converse. Some people say to go down half a size (or even a full size), but 11s are too small for me (and 10.5 would be painful).

That said, I got mine in yesterday. Thanks OP!
