ebay has JBL 500 cinema 5.1 speaker system for 170.

Amazon has them for 350 right now, on black friday amazon has the same speakers for 241.

So pretty decent deal.

sailajakumar05 11-29-2012 12:36 PM

Amazon reduced the price to 241 from 349.99, still ebay is better deal.

At both ebay and amazon sold by the same seller 'world wide stereo'. Then why there is $70 price difference, any inputs?

Other speakers in that set are OK, but the subwoofer is only 150W! A little too low. But, you get what you paid for. Pretty good deal for a budget system.

Been looking for a $200ish system but can't make my mind up if these are worth taking a chance on.

These do have dual 3" drivers where as most other systems I've been looking at only have a single 3" to 3.5" driver and the reviews for the JBL's seem very positive.

They do look a little weird but not what I would call ugly.

I keep waiting for Newegg to drop the price on the Definitive Technology ProCinema 60 down from $199 but that may never happen and then you you have the Energy deal that is around $250-$260.

Hmmmm, what to do?

I had just ordered same set on Costco.com yesterday and it was $199.99.
now i am trying to ask for price matching...

Thanks for pointing out my mistake (edited my post so no one gets confused).

I've looked at and compared so many systems my mind is about fried.

Price is great; It's $238 on Amazon - about $70 less than Amazon. Also great reviews on Amazon.

Wish I had money to bite.

x19m3 12-01-2012 11:00 PM

Thanks. Now they sell this set for $349.00

milom98 12-06-2012 04:06 PM

Thanks op.

Goy mine hooked up today and they sound great.

The speakers themselves look really good. I thought they looked a bit odd it the pics but after unwraping them I like them a lot. The have a nice high gloss shine on the parts not covered by the speaker grills and the style just looks better than the regular speaker look. Also I was really surprised at the good clean powerful bass the sub was able to produce in the 12x 12 room I set the system up in.

I paired these speakers up with a Onkyo TX-SR309 receiver I got for $94 and couldn't be happier with this budget system set-up ($264 total). :woot:
