Apple Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter for $10 + $2 S&H - Saveology

Saveology has an Apple Lightning to 30-Pin connector for $10 + $2 S&H. This is the description:

• Connects devices to many of 30-pin accessories
• Supports analog audio output and USB audio
• Syncs and charges
• Video output not supported
• Compatible with iPhone 5; iPod Touch 5th generation; iPod nano 7th generation; iPad 4th generation; iPad mini

Highlights:
Apple's latest generation of devices offers many improvements over their predecessors, but the change of most significance seems to be the dock connector. The Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter is the intelligent and ultra-compact alternative specifically designed for the following: iPhone 5; iPod Touch 5th generation; iPod nano 7th generation; iPad 4th generation; iPad mini. Each of these adapters lets you connect 30-pin-dock-connector accessories to the latest iPhone, iPod, and iPad models by offering a Lightning-connector plug on one end and a 30-pin port on the other. You insert the Lightning-connector plug into your iPhone 5, seventh-generation iPod nano, or fifth-generation iPod touch, etc, and then attach the 30-pin end to the dock connector of your favorite speaker system or other compatible accessory.

Fine Print:
• Limit 3 per person • May not be combined with any other offer • Shipping is NOT included; Additional $2.00 will be collected at checkout • Must provide name and shipping address at checkout, which will be shared to facilitate shipping • Does not ship to AK/HI/Canada • Does not ship to PO boxes • No returns unless damaged or defective • Delivery will take 10-15 business days • Voucher Expires on 2/26/2013

This will probably go down in flames, but posting it anyways. I purchased a third party lightning cable that works great. Hoping this will work in my car.

what is included in the sale??
just tiny adapter
or
adapter with extension cable???

they have 2 images, not sure which one will be shipped

Thanks, Op. I've been looking for a reason to use the free saveology dollars in my account. I'm not sure why but since I signed up last year during the iTunes gift card deal I've accumulated $16 free saveology dollars.

The description on the voucher is Apple Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter ($29 value). This makes me think that it is only the tiny adapter.

ChrisTech 11-29-2012 11:02 AM

Ditto, shows two images, not sure which. Looks to be 3rd party. 10-15 business days is what identifies it as 3rd party. Good luck if this works on your device. If it damages your device...well...can't say much there.

ahmadka 11-29-2012 11:03 AM

A lot of people in previous Saveology deals threads said that they have a very shady business going on, so its best to stay away from them ...

I've never personally tried them out .. I'm just quoting what others have said about them (Search the forums for info)

Don't buy from these guys, I ordered something In October and still haven't received!!!

googcs 11-29-2012 11:04 AM

Its the adaptor

chasedeals 11-29-2012 11:07 AM

Is this Generic or Apple manufactured?

babutiger 11-29-2012 11:12 AM

I purchased the Apple adapter for my iPhone 5. Would anyone recommend going with the generic version to save $$? At the same time I don't want to harm my phone in the long run.

JoeSmith2010 11-29-2012 11:15 AM

These are definitely knock offs. They are $4 wholesale in China if your purchase 100 of them. I opened one up and they used crap material. There is even painters masking tape inside. That can catch fire. I would avoid.

I'm guessing generic and shipping from china.

Not worth the hassle if it does not work.

You can get it for $1 cheaper on ebay shipped from USA.
Shipping from saveology will probably take like 2 weeks

Ditto that; I bought the 2 pack of lightening cables in early October and they still haven't shipped. I get the runaround from their support on shipping delays.

I will delete my account once the product ships and never deal with them again.

Saveology t'ain't no bargain this time around... :shake:

You can get the same adapter at Amazon for the regular price of $4.93 with free shipping.

dexterbot 11-29-2012 11:38 AM

For sure this is a generic and not Apple brand. Nothing against that but why pay $10 + 2 shipping when they are all over Amazon and eBay for less than half of what this is.

Good to hear since mine has already passed the original shipping date of early November and the second shipping date they gave me of 11/25. Fingers crossed.

On the subject - can anyone recommend a solid/reliable (not cheap knock off crap) car charger adapter for the iPhone5?

If you've spent that kind of money on buying an iphone 5, why would you even consider buying a cheap adapter that can potentially damage your expensive product. To save what? $5-10? (i have read stories of people buying knockoff cables to save money where the cords/connectors short out and end up damaging the product)

Try 20 dollars... the Apple lightning adapter is 30 bucks...

Saveology SUCKS!

I just searched "saveology" on this website and thumbed down a couple of "deals". They made you call them to redeem their vouchers, made you listen to their various shady programs for over 5 minutes and it was highly possible that you ended up never receiving your gift cards/merchandise.
More than two months ago I jumped in for their half-price staples gift card voucher and today I still haven't got my gift card. My friend bought two vouchers for a different store and he had exactly the same experience with me.

rbreding 11-29-2012 03:25 PM

WARNING WARNING WARNING!!!!

Saveology!!!!!

Wonder if their shill will show up in this thread ?

tamade 11-30-2012 06:16 AM

Don't buy from them...I order an iPhone 5 cable in September and I have yet to receive my order. When I email, they keep pushing the delivery date...3 times already! Horrible crappy company that makes their money pushing this "$1000 coupon book". Don't ever buy it.

dcv2002 11-30-2012 07:03 AM

I charge my iPhone5 in my car by plugging in the apple supplied lightning cable into a USB port on a charger I stick in my cigarette lighter. No new charger needed.

Really ? You mean the End of the supplied cable is USB and it also plugs into a USB charger ? Genius I tell you. What will they think of next ?

Wolfgangsicle 12-07-2012 04:04 AM

I foolishly gave this a try, and my two cables finally arrived.

The Lightning connectors themselves are very low quality, looking "handmade" in the BAD sense of the term, and not fitting well into the phone (very stiff, need a lot of force to insert). I have already written to Saveology politely asking for return instructions.

Any chance you can supply an image or images of the cable, so folks can understand what 3rd party lightning cables look like, for future reference?

tcatnat 12-07-2012 10:36 AM

I just received my two cables also. Physically, outside of the cable being slightly thinner it looks the same as the OEM that came with my iPhone 5. I plugged it in to charge with no issues. However, later I unplugged the lightning connector for the iPhone and pluged it back in and got the "this phone does not support charging form this device" or something along those lines. I unplugged it and plugged it back it and it worked fine. Obviously, these are not perfect, this has never happened with my OEM cable.

This will work fine for my nightstand to keep my hone plugged in at night. I wasn't expecting OEM quality and for the price I am OK with them.

The shipping time on the otherhand...

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 01:24 PM.
