Wow, not a bad price at all. I have the discontinued Dual XHD6425 + the BTM60 (optional bluetooth adapter) in my car, and I really enjoy it.
The thing I really enjoy about these units are the price/features ratio. Good quality sound IMO, plus plenty of ways to get your music into the unit (USB stick, USB>SD card adapter, 1/8" <> 1/8" cable, bluetooth, CD). Not having to buy an add-on $30-$40 bluetooth adapter is really a selling point on this unit. TU and repped! |
Having sold and installed car audio products for a few years, I'm surprised this unit is rated as highly as it is. I hated selling the Dual brand because there would be many units dead on arrival or a few months after install. When they work they are a great value, but the quality is not on par with the name brands (Pioneer, Kenwood, etc.) from my experience. Just my two cents.

Pretty good price for a feature packed unit, but...I currently own two Dual headunits. Price per feature is some of the best you will find, but on both units I have, both started malfunctioning within 3-6 months in some fashion. Both are still somewhat working 2 or so years later, but I think I have probably bought my last Dual. The first I bought was a 6425. It developed an annoying issue where it doesn't always (read fails most of the time) trip the internal amp on when the FM tuner is selected and the radio is turned on. Recently, it has started working only through one speaker on the tuner and the USB port has stopped working. The other is a bit newer and has a tendency to lock up when playing MP3's form either a CD or USB requiring taking the faceplate off and hitting reset, flushing all presets and the clock set.
When they work, I would say the sound quality was pretty good and I might consider one for a car I didn't drive very often or was selling. This unit is really tempting, but I think I will wait and pick up something like a Pioneer 6400BT or JVC KDX50 to replace the Dual in my daily driver. Keep in mind, I tend to drive my stereo's fairly hard on occasion. Just my $0.02, that and another couple bucks will get you a cup of coffee. |

Dual is pure crap no matter the price.

The dual unit in my truck has been in there ~4 years and still works great. One of my friends has a similar unit in his car for about the same length of time. YMMV, etc.
