UnclePorkchop 12-06-2012 02:08 PM

Went through the ordering process and was given an estimated delivery date of January 22nd. (AT&T) No thanks. Just can't wait that long. Too bad.

No way in the world I can put up with Sprint's coverage around here for another month and change. Too bad.

Did you try twice? :D

UnclePorkchop 12-06-2012 04:04 PM

The dreaded double post. Don't know how I managed to do that. How do I delete one of them?

hardrock121 12-06-2012 05:29 PM

this is definitely lowest ..

hallowmann 12-06-2012 07:11 PM

I would buy this now if it was that price or even $199 for an upgrade. $250 is a bit too close to the normal $300 price for me.

hbsjr 12-07-2012 12:31 AM

CA tax kills it... tsk

TDKR01 12-07-2012 01:38 AM

Too bad it's only for new customers only!

pablodiner 12-07-2012 02:44 AM

not to be rude, but if I had a nickel for every time i've read "CA tax kills it for me" ... Like the phrase has become a caricature of itself rather than having meaning. Aaaaaaanyway. Good deal thanks op TU!

forestranger 12-07-2012 09:57 AM

Anyone know if they will charge tax in CA on the discounted price ($175) or the full retail price?

minwoo832 12-07-2012 11:14 AM

Anybody know if I switch carriers, then switch back again to Verizon in a couple days, would I be considered a new customer?

NaveenG 12-07-2012 11:52 AM

I bought this one from Amazon for $149.99(upgrade). I price matched it couple of times lowered it from 249.99 to 199.99 and then to 149.99 ( after walmarts $250 + $100 gift card offer ). They have give me estimated date of Jan 4th. But it usually arrives lot quicker. I got this phone 2 weeks back and the features are just mind blowing.

Aventus 12-07-2012 07:49 PM

Crap! I already bought it

brentallens 12-07-2012 07:55 PM

Nice price!

Vandam500 12-07-2012 09:14 PM

Ordered the AT&T version for my wife! Thanks! +1

Tuco 12-07-2012 09:21 PM

I saw a Galaxy note a couple of days back and it was humongous! Seriously, it reminds of the scene from "Wall St: Money Never Sleeps" when Michael Douglas completes his prison term and is handed over his "cool cellphone" from the bygone era.

Yeah, I knows its a matter of personal choice but I guess at this rate we'd be sticking our ipads to our ears next. :)

That's awesome! How were you able to do it?

Amazon's policy says "Competitors' special promotions such as rebates, gift certificates, bundled products and "buy one, get one" offers are not eligible for the Guarantee."

Thanks

I just called them and said that walmart is offering for 149.99. I did not even tell about the GC. The rep asked me that what you want to do now? Do you want to cancel. I said, no. I want to stick with amazon if they price match and she put me on hold for a brief 1 min and said she was able to lower the price.

I hope this helps.

If the account holder is the same person, most likely the answer is no. I can't say with 100% certainty that all carriers do this, but in general they will have policies in place preventing people from doing this in the first place as it affects their overall quarterly and yearly numbers when it comes to churn and new subscriber activations.

Back in the days, many dealers thought they were clever by doing exactly what you're trying to do, instead of doing an upgrade for the customer. The reason being that they were paid more in commission for a new customer, than for an upgrade. That is also the reason why Amazon is able to offer a lower price for a new customer than for an upgrade.

TL;DR Just do an upgrade

ituyeh 12-09-2012 05:37 PM

It's showing 249.99 for me.. am i missing something?

Edit: crap, never mind, new customer only, not for upgraders.

Austang 12-12-2012 06:14 PM

2 yr. contract requirement kills it, bad deal.

hodgesbo 12-28-2012 03:34 PM
