I received an Open Box Item - APhamX

SammyRebate 12-06-2012 10:09 PM

I got my son a 3DS for Christmas and was initially thinking that this Trash Pack game might be a useful addition. However, the reviews make it clear that this game is real trash. It sounds to me like it is not even worth $10 let alone the MSRP. That's too bad as I am in the market for a few cheap DS/3DS games. (I hope that I can save someone else the 5 minutes of Googling reviews on this.)

mirai 12-06-2012 10:16 PM

uDraw is good at this price. it is primarily designed for small kids (the non-violent types) who don't mind the crudeness of the tablet controller.

whiteboyrick 12-06-2012 10:22 PM

Thank you very much for posting this. I just picked up one for my nephews for xmas.

luis702 12-06-2012 10:24 PM

I was about to purchase it but Amazon has it for only 3 bucks more
http://www.amazon.com/uDraw-Game-...A0Xbox+360

Waru 12-06-2012 10:24 PM

Wow just picked this up for $15 at a target and thought it was a good price..

Well looks like I need to return that one.

OniSyphon 12-06-2012 10:33 PM

The device that killed THQ.

In for one. Should be perfect for isketch and other simple drawing games on the PC.

iamthejosh 12-06-2012 10:52 PM

i really want to get this on the wii but they dont have it

rameshts 12-06-2012 10:53 PM

Thank you OP! Just ordered mine for store pickup.

I don't know if this helps (you probably already saw this, but just in case); you can still get the uDraw tablet by itself ($10), and additional games for $10 a piece... Still seems pretty good for $20 (or $30, $40... depending on the number of games that interest you).

Lark 12-07-2012 12:15 AM

Wow so cheap... it must be THAT bad for them to be selling at this price... Even Amazon has it for just a few dollars more. I thought this thing would cost more with the tablet accessory, but I guess it's one of those things that may just end up collecting dust. Kind of tempting though...

thriftmeister 12-07-2012 03:36 AM

The Trash Pack game reminds me of that King of the Hill epsiode where Bobby is accused of being lazy as he's laying around playing some grocery store inventory stocker game on his game boy. I think Hank or Peggy was trying to get him to help unload actual groceries or something.

hiperco 12-07-2012 05:24 AM

The PS3 version can be made to work on a PC: http://brandonw.net/udraw/

oldrtyfrog 12-07-2012 07:41 AM

As bad as Trash Pack looks, the kid is asking for it. Thanks!

tashayar 12-07-2012 07:51 AM

Ugh!!!! It was impossible to find two weeks ago when it was $12.99. Had to order it to a friend out west where she drove 20 min to a Best Buy to pick it up and sent it to my niece in PA!

Does BB do price adjustments?

HempCures 12-07-2012 07:52 AM

Says no shipping?

Mommax2in2006 12-07-2012 07:59 AM

Awesome got my son the Trash Pack Game for the 3DS XL giftcard that came with the Mario Kart Bundle :D

jamisonfitz 12-07-2012 08:04 AM

Finally got one, as bad as they seem they sure do sell out quickly. Thanks OP.

interbronze 12-07-2012 08:08 AM

Got my daughter the trash pack 3ds game...she likes the figures at TRU. Also picked up the Udraw Xbox tablet with Super hero game for my friend's kid for Christmas.

jsweetksu 12-07-2012 08:57 AM

Picked up a 360 tablet for my 4 year old for Xmas - Thanks OP! Repped.

It's actually not bad for what it is. Just don't expect a professional grade Wacom style tablet. They were going for a lot more at one point, but there just isn't a market for it, really. I think they're just priced to move to clear inventory.

KingOfRochester 12-07-2012 09:11 AM

Looks like the Wii one is wiped out for shipping and all stores within 100 miles of me, 360/PS3 still available.

jjj444yes 12-07-2012 09:15 AM

Tablet isn't worth $10 (or even when these are eventually FAR).. save yourself 2 trips (buy/return).. and if I remember correctly this has return hassle since it's a "video game"

tried one on the PS3, the drawings look like a drunk used an etch a sketch

Bobby1217 12-07-2012 09:20 AM

Can't beat the price... even if they only play with it a few times.
Thanks OP.

iloveadeal 12-07-2012 09:32 AM

thanks op repped ya :)

ob1pad01 12-07-2012 10:12 AM

PS3 only has 2-3 games? Is it even worth if for any other system beside the Wii. I understand you can hack it on the ps3 but what does that really provide beside using it on a PC?

ak78 12-07-2012 10:12 AM

Thank you, not bad for $10, I bought the 360 version but was seriously considering one for the Wii as well.

ak78 12-07-2012 10:15 AM

Looks like the Wii version is completely sold out in Austin

nutcr0cker 12-07-2012 10:23 AM

Any good deals on the wii version

budster 12-07-2012 10:28 AM

I'm not sure this is worth buying for young kids even for just $10. I think it is hard to draw while watching the tv screen. They have to get used to the idea of looking at the tv screen instead of the tablet pad on which they are moving the stylus on, and this is not what they are used to doing naturally.

Fred001 12-07-2012 10:36 AM

Was about to get the Tablet for Wii, was all sold out in my area when I went to check out....Still have the games available, but can't play the games without the tablet.....Checked Amazon for just the tablet w/studio bundle but costs around $40.00 for Wii version...Should have pulled the trigger on getting one earlier... My 4yr old daughter would have loved the princess game. Still thumbs up

breenarina 12-07-2012 10:38 AM

I wanted wii for the kids but looks like I can still get the Xbox version. Is gameplay the same?

ixijimixi 12-07-2012 10:43 AM

Wow...I tried to order this online. Order-confirm email-cancellation 3 times (twice with in-store pick-up, twice with a credit card, once with paypal).

Called up their support (after the online chat guy wasn't able to help), and the person on the line can't figure out what the heck is going on with it cancelling the orders

ob1pad01 12-07-2012 10:47 AM

Those who missed the Wii version, wait a few months and then check Goodwill. There will be plenty of donations for less than $10 with games. You can already find plenty of Leappads and other leapfrog items in there.

My 5 year old loves it, but no more than he loves a pad of paper and a box of colored pencils...I got it for $13 for the wii last year (with a game) and I think it was worth it for that price but I wouldn't pay anymore than that for it.

nolf66 12-07-2012 11:26 AM

In for one tablet pass on any games.

ubiquitous 12-07-2012 11:43 AM

What's the point of the device if there aren't any good games for it?

Nell85 12-07-2012 12:56 PM

Hey could I pricematch with Walmart or Target if it's sold out in my area for pickup?

Good point, I was tempted to get this for my kids, I figured if they play with it a few times, may be worth it. But it soundes like i'll be throwing $$ away. Maybe plain ol' paper and crayons is better (or an iPad app)!

TheThriftyOne 12-07-2012 03:45 PM

The Wii pictionary game is pretty good, the reviews on this dont look so hot though.

siryoink 12-07-2012 03:49 PM

Gamestop has the games for $9.99 as well.

http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k-udraw

I picked on up as a stocking stuffer for my daughter for $10 on BF, but I'm thinking the games must be pretty bad if the price is dropping like this everywhere.

BoldIntrepid 12-07-2012 03:52 PM

Can the 360 version be used on PC? I have the wireless controller receiver for PC

satanslover 12-07-2012 03:54 PM

WTF did I just buy?

Lawdaddy 12-07-2012 04:02 PM

This thing is awful. Bought it for $20 and returned it immediately. Garbage.

Sad that people are that cheap that they will waste resources and time for a measly $5. The same vein as people getting years out of durable goods and then abusing Costco's return policy.

Same here. I'm not sure why I need it though

Thanks slickdeals

APhamX 12-07-2012 04:50 PM

Got for PC hack for drawing on photoshop. Better than paying 3-6x as much for one. Plus this is wireless. Hope this is better on PC than ps3 (most negative reviews are about software anyhow)

JaY03 12-07-2012 04:51 PM

almost ordered then backed out.. after reading how wack it is

whozee 12-07-2012 05:08 PM

Does this require AC adapter?

Thinking about buying this for a relative overseas, hopefully it's relatively light weight because shipping is $$$$$$$$$ overseas.

agt_dale_cooper 12-07-2012 05:14 PM

Hilariously enough, this device has made the Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List...deo_gaming

Funnier still, I actually HAVE several items on this list :)

I bought the Wii one a while back, and it is indeed collecting dust.
Do I NEED this for LESS cartoony consoles?
Answer = No.

+1 given to OP for a nice thread, though...nice catch, really; if only I cared. :)

stailcookie 12-07-2012 05:19 PM

Tempting, but I just think about the DJHero 2 bundle that I got because it was $20 and has been collecting dust since one month later...

Looking at the additional titles, seems like this is a great deal for a child's toy, not a gamer or an aspiring artist.

Koubiak 12-07-2012 05:53 PM

I jumped the gun and bought it.
My tablet keeps randomly disconnecting, I'm gonna have to exchange it. Since there are no more in stock at my local Best Buy, I may have to ask for a refund :(

whozee 12-07-2012 05:56 PM

Anyone?

You're not valuing your time much. Also returns create loses which are then spread among other shoppers. I have no skin in this, just my 2c.

binji 12-07-2012 06:57 PM

Does anyone have firsthand experience with the uDraw as a tablet for PC? I watched that video of the hack and I'm not sure how well it works for that function. I would like to be able to draw some simple things like when I'm taking notes in class and there's something I can't type down but have to draw or write instead.

passthecrablegs 12-07-2012 07:02 PM

This is perfect for little kids, not adults. I bought two versions last year, Wii and Ps3, the Ps3 is better than the Wii and yes there is limited games but those games are fine for kids and at $10 for this system, it is a real bargain. I bought the XBOX one for my grandkids who are 2 and 5 and they will love it. The bad reviews are from people who paid 5 times the price for this thing and up to 5 times the price for one game, I can understand those bad reviews but again at this extreme discount, you will be happy.

Negative.
Dongle to stick in system for connectivity for PS3, "connect" button for Xbox 360, AND need AA batteries to power unit.

For the original Wii version, tablet draws power and synchronization from the inserted-into-tablet Wii remote.

Party that's having trouble with the unit disconnecting, use Duracells or something...NOT 99 cent store specials.

aznchris99 12-07-2012 08:23 PM

Nice!!

lindellovesyou 12-07-2012 08:29 PM

I want this for casual drawing on the PS3, but I can't get it to let me select "shipping" no matter what I do, even though it says free shipping right below the product. Not available for pick-up in any Utah location. WTF SHOULD I DO? D:

Don't wanna pay for shipping via amazon. /: Shipping would kill the deal for me.

nickwasher1 12-07-2012 10:15 PM

Went to check out, and they're all back to $29.99. Guess that's what I get for taking the time to read reviews before pulling the trigger.
