Im in the same upgrade boat as you all. im sure the prices on the upgrades will drop pretty soon. im just saying this because yesterday the price for new activation on amazon was $225 and now this dramatic drop. im sure if you wait it out a little the upgrade price will drop as well....... hopefully

Does the note 2 have an internal or embedded sum like the galaxy s3?(sprint bastards!)

The SIM is embedded. Another reason why Sprint is sinking. Verizon's Note 2 SIM slot is accessible.

SDRebel 12-07-2012 10:05 PM

Holy cow, fark sprint, dirty bastards

If I had a lot of money and time, I would sue them for that just for fun

I'm actually jumping ship this week. I just spent over an hour on the phone with them. I've had it. Been with them for 10 years+ but the discount no longer justifies their shitty customer service.

99 cents for dog poo (Sprint) is still a ripoff compared to a $25 porterhouse (VZW). I'd rather jump ship and pay more to Verizon too for usable data that's fast and has amazing coverage.

Checkout my screenshot of my super fast speedtest.net 3G speeds on the Sprint Now Network (by "now" they mean "never").

One option to consider are the $30 and $50 plans from T-Mobile/Walmart

Holy cow, even in a bad where I had internet (it was down for like 3 weeks) I would still get dial up speeds!

Thought people would like this price

pacp_ec 12-08-2012 07:33 AM

VZW has an unlimited plan similar to sprint, I tired of this shitprint

So? Any luck? Did BB realize what they were doing or did they just see the price on the Amazon site and give it to you without realizing it only applied to new lines?

that is bs. i would just try again. i acually got them to do it twice. the first time i got disconnected when i was prompted to accept the terms and conditions and had to call back. the second agent did it again with no problems. by the way, the hold music kept talking about best buy mobile. i dont know if that is who i was speaking to or not...

they just told me that they do not pricematch amazon wireless (when i called that Phone number above )

I tried again a while ago and lady was about to put me through to the terms&conditions when I asked her to confirm the price. She told me $299 + tax and that she would price match after I agreed, I asked her to confirm price match before I agree to anything...after saying that they do pricematch amazon she came back and shot me down. Same schpiel...they don't price match mobile phones

You got very lucky amigo!

hotLZ 12-08-2012 02:04 PM

just got my in store pick up confirmation. i should have it in my hands within the hour!

mahdego 12-08-2012 05:22 PM

guy said he could do it for me at BB but because it is not my line i am upgrading he cannot get the information from me, even though i have all the information of the account holder. oh well, i am at work all night and am taking care of 10 critical patients. I do not think my grandfather can handle this without me walking him through it

likeitnot 12-08-2012 05:30 PM

Yeah, BB has always price matched for me in the past, amazon wireless included (though always in store, never tried over phone/online).

Good luck to those that try because if this was for Verizon I'd be all over it lol.

The BB guy is telling you BS, my bro and I got our sister a SGS3 on Sprint w/o her being present, we already had all her info. It was a Xmas present.

Don't tell him you're doing it for your g'pa, instead just say you are the person you are doing it for.

lion5 12-08-2012 05:54 PM

I was getting ready to ditch sprint when my contract was up but sprint upgraded the towers around my house in SW suburb of Chicago to LTE last couple of month. I'm getting around 18 mb up and 8 mb down which is faster than my comcast cable.
I think u might stick with sprint for now

what is the ETF for sprint?

kajex 12-08-2012 07:40 PM

Just a warning... No SVDO support. You cannot do simultaneous voice & data unless LTE is in your city. Galaxy S3 works just fine with simultaneous voice & data on 3G. I wanted the Note 2 until I found out it can't do something crucial that the the S3 can do. No LTE at all in my state yet, so this does make a difference.

sorry, i had to go to work after i picked it up. but all was successful. no one even asked or cared why the price was so low. the guy who activated it for me was telling me about the 30 day price match when he saw how cheap it was. said never mind. it deffinitly wouldnt drop lower than that anytime soon and just kept on with his schpiel.
so where is the slickdeal on insurance? ive always used the sprint insurance, but with it going up to 11 dollars and the deductible jumping up to 200, im not sure its worth it. i do like the instore service and repair though.

mahdego 12-09-2012 08:45 AM

i give up. looks like they were gonna do this last night (and sometimes not even), but i cannot get anyone to budge this morning and they just keep saying no to Amazon PM

omachoomar 12-09-2012 09:01 AM

Has anyone tried calling Sprint directly to get the 150 price? If you call complaining about a worse deal being offered for existing, loyal customers and threaten to cancel service they will probably match the 150 price. They bent over backwards to try and keep me when I called to cancel my service(I didn't take the bait, I wanted to go to Ting).

willo13b 12-09-2012 10:45 AM

just want to chime in I have been successful in getting BB to PM Amazon's new line prices when upgrading..have done it in store a couple times (never thru phone)

last time they didn't even bother checking Amazon's price...they just took my word for it

JackiG 12-09-2012 11:23 AM

My boss just went to Best Buy and the manager approved this matching price, even tho she wasn't a new account, just upgrading a line.

JackiG 12-09-2012 11:29 AM

She's never going to let me live this down --- I paid full price at hsn -- only good thing was I didn't have to pay sales tax. In California that's about $65.

SweetJason 12-09-2012 06:53 PM

So first I called sprint complained blah blah, got $100 credit on statement.

I drove to best buy showed amazon price, the employee saw it was new account only and denied me. I left.

About 4 hrs later I was out and about again, figured what the hell stopped by Best Buy again went to a different employee, the other appeared to have left, and this time I came a little more prepared. I had the Note II amazon website up on my phone and showed it to the rep for $150 (last agent pulled it up on a computer there and saw the difference). This rep said sure and price matched me.

Most probably don't care but I would prefer the Titanium and they were out of it so had to get the white one but hey things happen.

Out the door price $158....

But wait...

I leave head over to pickup some pizza the gf and I ordered and noticed I have a mail????? from bestbuy? Mail said thank you for purchasing a Best Buy phone here is your $50 gift card? So between Amazon $150 price match, Sprint $100 credit, Best Buy unexpected $50 gift card, I paid about $8 for the phone.

Overall I am happy.I am still unsure I want a phone this big but without a doubt I wanted a quad core and a battery this big so only a few days of everyday use will tell me how I feel. But for the price worst case I think I would just sell it and buy something else rather than taking it back.

What did you complain about that got you the $100?

SweetJason 12-10-2012 06:55 AM

Service in general, I got a microcell for my house so service there is good but only because it goes through my internet, but my signal at work is bad, I live in the Cincinnati area so we aren't getting LTE anytime soon and this makes my 2nd LTE phone. and I pay for the premium data which is a pointless joke. So wasn't lying about any of it. I have 7 lines with sprint and have been considering switching for a while but its a lot of work to switch 7 lines.

mahdego 12-10-2012 07:01 AM

I am also giving serious thought to leaving sprint this month. They just cancelled my employee discount, I am never in an area where 4g or the new LTE data is available even though I have been paying for it for years, the bill keeps climbing with taxes and fees plus they are getting rid of the Premier Gold benifits at the end of the year. I've been with sprint for over 12 years and there are alot of cheaper options out there now.

Anyone have any good ideas for leaving sprint currently without having to pay ETF's, I would think getting rid of the Premier Gold benifits would be one reason to leave without paying ETF but I am sure they would disagree. Any input would be appreciated.

MrD2K5 12-11-2012 01:17 PM

I can verify that this works In Store at Best Buy! They Do price match Amazon Wireless, Even if Amazon says They are backordered. This Does work as an upgrade!

Redsox44 12-13-2012 08:16 AM

I went to BB yesterday and they were able to price match. At first BB was shocked how Amazon can price it at 149.99. Once they got approval from their manager I was good to go.

humblepie 12-13-2012 08:31 AM

4g lte coverage for Sprint sucks massive donkey balls in San Antonio. There are a couple of places I get it, but the rest of the time I barely get any data connection at all.

Soon as my current contract expires I'm done with sprint for good. Been with them since 1996, but this will be my last year with them. I have my girlfriend setup on straight talk for $45 a month with unlimited everything AND she has great 4g lte coverage here in San Antonio with phenomenal speeds. I am on the SERO-P line, which I have to be for the 4g lte plan, and pay more than she does for shitty service, shittier plan, and shittier customer service. If it wasn't for this damn contract I'd wash my hands of them for good.

Anyone thinking this is a deal should stay away. Just buy a good phone outright and do something like straight talk.

hotLZ 12-13-2012 09:58 AM

i just went to android central for the first time since getting this phone and a lot of people over there are confiming that they got this 149.00 price match at best buy.
also, hot damn this lte is nice. im getting 15 to 30 megs down all day everywhere i go. even places where 3g is non-existant. im in kcmo.

chong67 12-13-2012 10:02 AM

after 5 days with the note 2 it almost seems like a regular sized phone. i dont see it as huge any more. just looks normal and other phones look small.

dynastydealer 12-13-2012 10:54 AM

I tried to get this price but was rejected by the manager. maybe i should try another bestbuy

dynastydealer 12-13-2012 01:30 PM

i got it, but they said i had to waive my phone freedom which would have given me the 50 dollar gift card. my out the door price ended up being 213 after tax which isnt bad but without the gift card it would have been cheaper to go with walmart wireless or wirefly. Still, I'll pay the 13 dollars to get it now and from bestbuy instead of those companies. not bad, but would've been much better if i got the gift card. otherwise ive seen it for 199 no tax from wirefly or walmart.

Amazon Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II 2 $149.99 New Activations

4 Attachment(s)
This is probably the sweetest deal on the sweetest phone on the planet right now.

http://wireless.amazon.com/dp/B00A0CIS5C

Amazon Wireless has the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II (2) for only $149.99 for new individual or family plan activations.

This is the lowest price you can get for this phone. Sprint is probably offering a killer discount on this because they know their network sucks in most parts of the US.

This is a 4G LTE phone but don't hold your breath waiting for it to be built out in your city.

You can keep track of LTE build out status for your city here:

http://s4gru.com/index.php?/forum...eployment/

Having this phone on Sprint is like owning a Lamborghini but having to drive in the school zone.

But, for those of us who have wifi everywhere you go, it's a sweet deal! It's way better than any iphone 4 or 5 and Google Maps looks gorgeous on this 5.5" screen!

Tax is charged on the unsubsized price of the phone for CA residents.

Crappy iPhone could barely find lte here in DFW but the SGS3 that replaced it found lte for several miles even miles from the highway. I was impressed.

don't jump into this deal without calling sprint telesales. i spoke to a rep tonite & he said i could get the Note for free if I opened a new line of service. Free>$149

Sprint doesn't have the original Note so it must be a Note II.

UltimateMass 12-14-2012 05:39 AM

Looks like Amazon has updated their Note 2 for sprint to show 279 for upgrades... I was just about to go get this today! Ug! Snooze you lose i guess.... disappointing..

How is that? No way, please provide details!

And what is the number for telesales? I just bought one yesterday, so I want to seriously try that too.

What did you say to the rep? Can you please provide details? I tried to get Sprint to PM 3x and they would not budge.

Stay Away From Sprint

I've been a sprint customer for 2 years and contract is now up for renewal. The note 2 is amazing but Sprint's service is the worst. We currently have a family plan with 5 phones doing unlimited data / text and my usage is < 100 MB because of the slow network causes apps to hang or timeout. Gmail told me I was in "offline" mode. I can't even use my gps at times because the data connection is garbage and I have full bars.

No LTE offered yet. Sprint GS3 (phone is awesome, network sucks)

I think I will still give this a shot... hopefully best buy will just PM and roll on.. ;)

hotLZ 12-14-2012 08:11 AM

I did a search for Galaxy Note II and it didn't show up.

The BB thing might work too if they are busy. If they are not busy, they might remember to verify on Amazon Wireless if it's for new activations only.

UltimateMass 12-14-2012 09:38 AM

No luck at best buy... they was able to click the upgrade price and see that it is different than 149.. oh well

UltimateMass 12-14-2012 09:44 AM

Yeah, I just tried. Before when you would click the upgrade plan, Amazon was still showing 149.99. It is not doing that anymore, so if they check it, your out of luck.... I might give it another shot at another place on way home, but I'm not counting on it anymore..

Go when it's busy, you will have much more luck.

I will give it a try... just go in a say, "Will you price match Amazon Wireless for the Note II?" and just see where it goes...

iseeu10 12-14-2012 11:50 AM

I am going to try to price match today @ BB hopefully they over look the new line activation :)

hotLZ 12-14-2012 12:54 PM

its best to have the page ready and loaded on your phone or tablet when you get there. just flash them your phone and ask about matching that price.
personally i got them to price match it for me at 1-888-best-buy. no questions asked and i was able to pick up in store within 2 hours.

SweetJason 12-14-2012 02:26 PM

I showed them the price on my phone, so they didnt click anything

Was that for an upgrade or a new line?

Go in when they are busy, and have the ad already pulled up on your mobile phone. It will work.

drexappeal 12-14-2012 06:03 PM

Woohoo. Best Buy price matched for me, even though I had upgrade. I love Best Buy's price matching (well, at least the Best Buy closest to my house).

I honestly feel like the price match would be YMMV because I've heard other people at other Best Buy's in Los Angeles, that had a much harder time getting similar types of price matches.
