Does this work with galaxy s3? I'm on my phone it's harder to research this . Thanks!
|
e10 is very good, but google some reviews on the e17. Apparently it's even better, and is still reasonably priced. So you might look at that, if you're in the market here.
|
It works with most players, including Galaxy S/Note, as long as there is an audio-out and high-quality sound source (less or no compression).

I just received mine today from Adorama and got sent the OLD VERSION.
|
This is a desktop amp and is not portable. If you are looking for portability, I recommend looking at the Fiio e11.

I could not check out though anyone?

For others who only need the cheapest good portable amp:
I just got the Fiio E5 for use with my Sennheiser CX870. It does give the bass that extra punch with bass boost. With JetAudio Plus and DSP Manager on my Cyanogenmod Android phone I have a much better sounding set up than I did with my Cowon iAudio U3. I experienced the crackling problem for the Fiio E5 while charging, but that's only because I used a different USB cable than the one provided--the one provided was too short. The original USB cable has a ferrite choke (that heavy cylindrical shell near the ends of some cables) and it actually blocks all the interference. The only problem left is the stereo cable receiving noise when plugged in my laptop so I ordered ferrite clips for that. This is my first amp ever and I'm very satisfied with how the E5 turned out to be flawless for what it promised for $18. I didn't want to spend the $24 to get the E6 since I was aiming for the lowest possible price for my humble needs, and if only the $8 E3 were also rechargeable I would've gotten that instead but replacing batteries is too much of an inconvenience. Great in-depth review of the E5 here [blogspot.com] comparing it to the E6 [blogspot.com]. |
wow this deal is still on

http://slickdeals.net/f/5557370-F...m-Adorama? I guess it took a new thread to "revive" it. |
Thanks. I ordered one for my father. Will test it out as I have always been curious about using a DAC (+ amp) for my headphones.

I sent them emails with pictures and explanation links from Fiio's own website to explain to them that they were falsely advertising this product. They did respond and offer a return, however, the fact that this product description has not been changed displays poor business practice in general on the part of adorama. After this I certainly hesitate to buy from them. |

I spoke too soon? :/ Yep, the US version uses the Qualcomm WCD9310. Lame. |
I received the new version but I returned it because I bought the E17 from B&H at $99.
I had to pay the shipping fee + the shipping fee for the return! I will never buy from Adorama again Quote:

For people who don't know, there are multiple revisions of the E10. The latest version should say Fiio Olympus on the side and the connectors should be gold plated. I had called them previously to ask if it was the newest version and the phone rep didn't know shit. He didn't even know there was a "ask a question" section on the webpage. I also emailed their support/customer service and they assured that this would be the latest version and that they were usually use stock photos provided by the manufacturer of the product. They assured me that they would update the photo in the future and I do see that they uploaded 1 additional of the Fiio Olympus text in the gallery but the rest of the photos are pics of the older version. |

On a side note, the one I have is the original version, and even with some of the reviews saying that the original version has a lose headphone input, i have not had a single problem with it. If you wiggle it enough, it will move yes (seems like there is a thick coil) so it doesn't like wobble all over but does move. However, who sits there and wobbles their dac amp? It's an input device, not a joystick lol. I've had mine for over 1yr now and I love it's small size and easy features. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm dirt poor broke from xmas shoppping, I would prob buy another one for my father (but i've already bought him nice headphones & some expensive tool stuff) |
Anyone know how to setup a equalizer with this?

thanks

Received it a few days ago. I have a unit that has "Olympus" on the side as well. I tried to contact Adorama about an issue where resting the DAC/amp on my desktop, dropping it at a height of the thickness of my smallest finger causes some static and then eventually shutting off. I have to very carefully place it on my desk. Anyone else have this issue. Wish I could get this resolved before Monday but since their automated message system is telling me to call in a few hours and hangs up on me, I guess not. |

I'm not going to test mine though. Let us know what happens when you do get a hold of them. |
Sorry to bring this one back from the deal but I was wondering from the people that got these how many got new ones? I thinking about ordering from this place as they're the only ones that actually states its the new version, plus its 52 dollars which is still a lot cheaper then the usual 80 normal price.
Most places are actually running it around 54, I'm pretty sure that's because they're blowing out the old ones before they get the new ones. That's just my though but I'm betting I'm right. so if I could get the new one and the cheaper price that would be awesome. also I've never heard of this place, they're ok to order from? Ive heard of a lot of sketchy companies in NY before, especially when it comes to cameras..I know this isnt a camera. |
I got the new one.
