This was FP in September: http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/8...ming-mouse

Combine with the $5 off $25 Facebook promo that expires tonight, and it's a $25 mouse.

Definitely in for 1, thanks OP!

SSmiley908 12-10-2012 12:11 AM

Thanks! In for 1. I have been waiting for the price to go down on these.

AJZ 12-10-2012 12:43 AM

Bump. Now $27.99

elfnumber1 12-10-2012 12:45 AM

Good deal, like these much better than the jumping around lasers.

awesome price for the successor to the perennial favorites MX510/MX518
repped

Emjay 12-10-2012 12:54 AM

The Razer Deathadder is better IMO but this is a great mouse too. I've used both. TU.

Not sure how this deal is Frontpage material.

This mouse has been $30 quite often the past few months.

Portlis 12-10-2012 02:21 AM

In for 1, thanks. I needed a new mouse for the new gaming rig I built last month.

Amazon gets my business because of no tax + screw Best Buy.

According to price trackers, $27.99 is the cheapest this has been in the past couple years (as long as they have price tracking data).

Combined with FB $5 promo and it's a $7 savings. No, $7 isn't a huge difference, but I think any of us who are here on SD are happy to save even one buck, much less 7.

Those facebook coupons have all been claimed already. That was a $5 off $25 coupon from 5 days ago.

PFFT 12-10-2012 05:13 AM

I paid $35 for this mouse last week and I love it! I'm using it for gaming and I don't need 10 extra buttons on the side of my mouse.

BoldIntrepid 12-10-2012 05:57 AM

Wish I saw this yesterday... My FB Promo expired a few hours ago lol

santiagoanders 12-10-2012 06:12 AM

Dammit, I would have got this but I already picked up a G700. I'm finding it hard to get used to the sensor being so far forward. Not to mention the G700 cord is so stiff if I have to use it while charging.

Dantee 12-10-2012 06:26 AM

I bought this a couple months ago, but returned in. The small button above the scroll wheel wasn't working well (had to press it really hard), the scroll wheel was very "mushy", and it was frustrating that the extra buttons wouldn't work at all without installing Logitech's bloatware. I ended up replacing the cord and feet on my old MX500, and cleaning it out, so now it works the same it always has (had it for 10 years).

JackScagnetti 12-10-2012 06:35 AM

I was gonna get it before the price increased :(

Neitmrh15 12-10-2012 06:43 AM

Best Buy reviews seem to indicate that this mouse doesn't work well with Macs, if you want anything besides left/right click and the scroll wheel.

mulletov 12-10-2012 06:47 AM

I've gone through the G9, G500, and MX518. The G400 is my favorite of them all. It's got the same body as the MX518 w/o the glossy finish so you don't have to worry bout sweat residue buildup.

r0ge 12-10-2012 06:55 AM

Easily the best mouse for the money. The flawless sensor and MX518 design is something I've wanted for a long time.

revoc 12-10-2012 07:29 AM

Cheapest I've ever seen this mouse. Best streamlined gaming mouse you can buy.

BeerManMike 12-10-2012 08:21 AM

Probably the best mouse ever.

Amazing deal.

minimidgy 12-10-2012 09:39 AM

I'm new to PC gaming. What's the advantage of a gaming mouse like this over a standard mouse? Also, why would one get a wired mouse instead of a wireless one?

I was thinking same thing. Im almost done building my computer and the mouse was something still to get. I went ahead and ordered this one because of all the favorable reviews posted. This one looks solid and has a nice simple design. Works for me!

As being a console and computer gamer ( I like both for various reasons) you will find uses for those buttons quite fast. In Planetside 2 I use them for my grenade and melee instead of having to hit a key. Torchlight you can use them to weapon/ability swap. In MMOs you have a few more easy to reach buttons for your more used spells. Then the part you may use the most, web browsing. Those buttons come in very handy for going back or forward. If you are using a standard 2 button mouse with wheel, upgrade you will be very happy with it. You don't necessarily have to get this mouse but its one of the better streamlined cheaper (though the MX518 I use has lasted me this long and still going) gaming mouse you should at least try it.

*edit* Also they tend to have better accuracy of mouse movement and the ability to change DPI settings on the fly, which also comes in very handy.

Best.mouse ever.

this didn't feel like an upgrade to myancient mx 500. Great mouse in its own right, but cheaper feel.
G500 on the other hand is a massive upgrade.

Molybdate 12-10-2012 01:47 PM

For those that have this mouse, does the scroll wheel 'click' or does it scroll without a click? Looking to get a mouse for my laptop that's the same as the one for my desktop in terms of scrolling.

Also wish it was laser, I don't like the red light, but I can deal.

jkingii 12-10-2012 03:09 PM

its an ok deal i guess... got this mouse with 15 dollar value league of legends character and skin for 30 dollars. Surprised this deal made the front page and the other did not!

scrolls with click. this is way better than the laser mice i've used for fps.

looks like it's $34 again...

jcl1 12-10-2012 03:35 PM

I didn't like this mouse, it was too big for my hands. I have the G300 which is smaller and has more buttons to customize. Keep that in mind before buying.

magistir 12-10-2012 03:42 PM

Thanks OP! Just got one from Best Buy local pickup.

wilflare 12-10-2012 03:46 PM

gah. was gathering my Amazon GC and it went out on Amazon :/

lightsout565 12-10-2012 04:02 PM

Walked in to Best Buy and bought it.

My main machine is a macbook and I bought this to play CS:GO. What a pain. If you didn't already know, logitech provides no mac drivers for their G series (gaming) mice. It's so bad it's pretty much unusable without a 3rd party driver. Steermouse is a good 3rd party driver although you have to pay for it. I'm currently using the free trial although I think I'm just going to return the mouse and wait for something that works better with mac and pc. Suggestions? let me know!

Best buy has this item for 27.99

supfresh 12-11-2012 09:06 AM

not sure if this deal is really that slick, ~30 on Amazon for a while now. going to wait until g5 goes on sale, or a higher model.

jonesenberg 12-11-2012 11:20 PM

These are great mice. The only downside, the crappy software, has been much improved recently by Logitech.
