First post.. so my apologies if I goof this up.

http://www.amazon.com/Zojirushi-B...e+virtuoso

After researching breadmakers for weeks, I stumbled upon the fact Amazon was doing a "lightning deal" today for $214.99. At this point it says they're 58% claimed...

Happy Holidays all!

****deal is dead****

*Breadmaker ;)

To fix your title, click Edit, then Go Advanced. Might as well change "Lighting" to "Lightning" while you're in there. :)

TU, great deal for a great machine.

TakeMeToManos 12-10-2012 10:51 AM

Votey.... I really appreciate the editing help. No charm is butchering my first attempt at this!

Ananke- I did a triple take when I saw the price, having checked it so many times over the past week. Kohls's currently has it listed as $337, while Bed, Bath and Beyond has it at $280. I was about to settle for the cheaper "Supreme" which some folks have had issues with concerning the top layer, but lo and behold this popped up...

I know not everyone is in line for a bread machine, but if you've been considering one, this looks like a pretty sweet deal.

So I'll bite. How is this breadmaker worth its price tag? I'm no stranger to Zojirushi... we own one of their rice cookers and think it's great. Does it do for bread what the rice maker does for rice? We currently own a Cuisinart breadmaker that I think was originally $100, and it seems to ... make bread fine. I need details folks :)

anonprodigy 12-10-2012 11:38 AM

Can you make sourdough with this? It's the only bread I like lol

sumrtym 12-10-2012 11:39 AM

It's considered the best bread machine on the market. Two paddles mix the dough better without leaving "corners", for one. There's a lot of other things , but it's been awhile since I've looked at machines and can't think off the top of my head. Iif I didn't have other things to buy right now, I'd be all over this.

gigalevu 12-10-2012 11:40 AM

does this only bake 2lb bread?? No 1 or 1.5 lbs?

keickhoff 12-10-2012 11:41 AM

I do not even need this, I do not eat bread that often. But SD almost made me pull the trigger. Probably a great deal OP, but I did resist.

HighwayToHell 12-10-2012 11:44 AM

I just made a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread in this yesterday

No way to justify $200 for a breadmaker

rbren 12-10-2012 11:45 AM

thx..repped...

This also has a Gluten Free cycle, very rare for made for US machines to have that. The Panny European model has a gluten free cycle, the one sold here (on Amazon for $131, a decent breadmaker for the $) doesn't :/. Got one, thanks!

Given a wife and kid with Celiac, and the cost of Gluten free breads, this thing will pay for itself in 4-6 months TOPS.

haha, i'm trying to stay away from bread, thanks a lot!

cookieman888 12-10-2012 12:21 PM

oh man, did I miss it?!? that must be some tasty bread!

shaggymatt 12-10-2012 12:22 PM

I love my Zoji. I have the Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme. I use it weekly instead of buying store bought bread. I've had for almost a year now (last one failed Christmas day), looks the same as it did new.

The preheat ingredient cycle is one of the features that puts that above other bread makers.

landras 12-10-2012 12:24 PM

For those asking if this is a good machine, this machine is the one King Arthur flour test kitchen uses on daily basis....say no more.....

silver815 12-10-2012 12:30 PM

not sure why, but i can't get the lightning deal to show up... is it dead?

saps 12-10-2012 12:31 PM

Zojirushi bread machines are all very good machines. I have a mini zo and love it!
