It varies by location but where my folks live in Florida, it's $7.49 a dozen.

My aunt worked at a KK when I was 5 years old and my mom says the doughnuts were only a nickel each.

bollingerr 12-11-2012 09:54 PM

Giving this a thumbs down because the promotions strikes me as I'll conceived. I am surprised they don't also allow a free glazed dozen with the purchase of an assorted dozen. I would do this with the assorted dozen but I don't want or need 24+ glazed donuts.

gjamm00 12-11-2012 09:58 PM

For all the buzz they've been creating on FB to promote this, I'm rather disappointed by the deal. BOGO coupons are around and a lot of stores offer BOGO on certain days anyway-this FB promotion is rather weak.

On top of it, one MUST print a coupon (rather than just showing it on your phone) and the 2nd free dozen is only for original glazed. If it had been for assorted, I probably would have gone for this deal. But, there is no need for 24 original glazed donuts.

magnovox00 12-11-2012 10:11 PM

Donuts in general(Dunkin and KK) are expensive.

Walmart sometimes has it some percentage of at end of the day. Sometimes glazed, sometimes chocolate topped.

Krispy Kreme was so 10 years ago.

In Socalif, Krispy Kreme lost it popularity fast.

Chocobo 12-11-2012 10:22 PM

I got a craving for some of these so I went and bought a dozen (for the first time this year) earlier today.

Bleh.

This would be a nice deal if Krispy Kreme hadn't closed up all their stores in Minnesota. Krispy Kreme opened their stores in Minnesota in 2002 and closed them in 2008. They had lines around the block when they first opened, but they apparently over expanded.

It should be
Buy One DOZEN Get One Dozen

If you disagree, tell me, what would the title be if the promotion required only one doughnut to get the dozen free?

Please provide links to a peer-reviewed study with evidence about the chemicals you've referenced, or cell phones providing brain cancer.

Otherwise, stop fear-mongering. Of course KK donuts aren't good for you. But if you want to make claims about specific health issues due to their specific ingredients, or to make totally unproven claims about brain cancer, back it up.

Cell phone radiation has been monitored for years. So far there is no good evidence that it gives you brain cancer.

albundyhere 12-12-2012 08:09 AM

All these donut haters. At work they were bringing in bagels and I proved that bagels are no better than donuts.

Same calories, different sources.

Donuts-High fat and sugar
Bagels-High carbs and sodium

Sooooo donuts win cause they are awesome.

sadly, I think they are only worth it at this price with the coupon. all these donut franchises (KK, DD, etc) charge such a premium for donuts. I know the grocery chain donuts aren't as good, but the franchises shouldn't cost 2x+ more. /soapbox

peer - reviewed studies? seriously? you from Monsanto(pun intended).

I love KK but I think the key is moderation.

Now, cell phone radiation, ofcourse there is no "good" or "conclusive" evidence about brain cancer. There is no conclusive evidence that cell phone radiation is harmless either. WHO came with a study on this same topic. feel free to read when you get bored.

http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/201...anel-says/

Who knows, "good" evidence will eventually come out a few decades later in the form of some effects of cell phone radiation on the brain, brain cancer or whatever :-)

All I would say is use your judgement and common sense with these radiation emitting cell phones, use a headset, it might minimize the effect.:)

Peace

johnlau 12-12-2012 09:59 AM

Do they still use the nasty hydrogenated oils.

hmm 12-12-2012 10:03 AM

I hope people realize that for most bakeries, Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Kreme, they can't keep donuts for more than 24 hrs. So if you go 10 min before closing or at least before a holiday, you can pretty much their entire stock that would have been thrown out. I bought like 30 donuts for $5 one time.

Of course this is YMMV and you have to be pretty nice.

I am paying for these and I thought RANT is the least I deserve! LOL! -:)

No, the rant isn't deserved, but your medical costs should have nothing to do with mine. You deserve the same thing we all do, to pay a fair price for medical care, we should all reap what we sow. Do the crime pay the time (die sooner) or fine(med costs). It shouldn't be free, and we don't have a right to medical care (or food or shelter or anything for that matter.) Earn it, this is the philosophy that will make the next great country, just as it was the philosophy that made America. If we hadn't lost that we would be on the right track still.

Was thinking, WOW! No one could go wrong with free doughnuts. Who doesn't like doughnuts? Then I read this thread.......some of you people are nut jobs! If you don't like it don't buy it, but quit spewing your dislike on here. Move on.

Thanks, in for 24. Yum!

Redrum509 12-12-2012 10:24 AM

Wife, 3 year old daughter, and I will be snacking on 2 dozen this evening. Thanks op!

The cheapest gas I have seen in my lifetime (so far) is .70 a gallon. God, I miss those days. :sadwalk:

So far? I'm not an economist, but I'm pretty sure it'll never drop to that level ever again. Not unless Dr. Emmett Brown's Mr. Fusion machine [wikipedia.org] gets invented :P

GuavaTooo 12-12-2012 10:58 AM

Would love to get two dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, but that is the last thing my body needs during the holidays. Love these things! They just melt in your mouth!

Thanks for posting, OP! I'm sure many people can justify having this many donuts in their house.

quitosky 12-12-2012 11:19 AM

Participating KK stores only. Not redeemable at grocery/convenience stores.

ace35 12-12-2012 11:31 AM

Donuts can be part of a healthy diet. If a donut is going to put you over the edge you should spend more time focusing on the other crap you're eating.

(assuming you have the self control to share the other donuts)

I paid 7.89 after tax in TN.

I remember when these coupons were in the paper every week...still a good deal, and I can not go today either!

The lines always suck in the evening there anyways.

dremelz 12-12-2012 12:32 PM

You can get glazed or assorted donuts. Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but that is what the said when I got two dozen this morning. The lady said they changed the policy late last night. So, I got a dozen of each. Thanks OP...you helped to make my office very happy today! Repd!

CaesarW 12-12-2012 12:38 PM

I came because i thought it was "buy one" "get one dozen"

luis702 12-12-2012 12:46 PM

Works in Mexico too :) http://www.krispykreme.mx/index.php

ClamChowder 12-12-2012 12:49 PM

Got this deal this morning. Also, they gave me 24 gift tags that are each good for one free coffee or one free doughnut.

Pretty killer deal!

Good to know it worked for you, I will be trying this evening. Picked up two dozen glazed this morning for the office, no fights over who gets what kind of donut. But when I buy for home/friends tonight, we can fight over the assorted.

Sigh, if that's what you wish to believe. You jumped past logic and reason to reach your conclusion though.

I haven't eaten a Krispy Kreme in years (I would if they still had the stores around here though.) I ate two donuts last week, then you have to look back months to find the time before that. So, donut wise, I think I'm well in the Moderation category and would consider my donut lifestyle to be really quite healthy. However I do have some diet changes I'm working on that make my lfestyle a bit less healthy.

I can tell you though that I too am like you, at least so far, I am the low cost guy helping pay for the sick people with our current semi-socialist program, soon to be fully socialist.

glennpok 12-12-2012 01:26 PM

Funny I didn't get fat until after I moved and quit eating them!!!

oh damn the closest KK are 20 miles away :(

Janerl 12-12-2012 02:28 PM

Printed out the coupon and put it on the shared table in our lab group - people got the hint and we're going for a donut run now :D

Rocklobst3r 12-12-2012 02:32 PM

Nearest KK is maybe 4-5 hours drive, not that hungry for donuts.

techiemon 12-12-2012 02:45 PM

paid 6.99 at FL for one dozen.... but big enough and krispy.. cool

Fundraising section looks like they will, otherwise, no. I sent an email to my closest store (over 100 miles away) asking the manager if they would ship. I'm 99.999% sure I'm going to be told to F myself though.

B) Actually, it's your responsibility to prove your claims. That's the way science works, smart guy. If I post that I have a unicorn living in my back yard, is it your responsibility to fly out here and check it out? No. If I say that eating marshmallows gives you foot cancer, do you have to research this and determine the truth? No.

You make a claim, you back it up.

Tonggi 12-12-2012 02:59 PM

yum regular glazed or chocolate glazed. Thats it. I can eat them all day. Its great watching how they are made.

Too bad closest one is at Penn Station and I'm pretty sure they wont honor this, they run out of donuts!

donboydeluxe 12-12-2012 03:32 PM

reason # 406 not to leave home for work without first checking slickdeals!! imagine my horror coming home and seeing this KK deal, drive by one on my way home, to late now to drive back and forth 20 miles each way for a mess of donuts.
sobbing......

IamPro 12-12-2012 03:35 PM

Can I get the regular and the chocolate in same order or do I need to get same kind?

Marathi 12-12-2012 03:37 PM

Wow...!!!
There are stores in Austin and San Antonio but none in Houston...
Apparently Houston is too small of a city as per their standards... :)

texasman 12-12-2012 03:38 PM

Damn you and your deliciousness KRISPY KREME!!!! Why did you have to leave Houston????!!!!!! Okay, so we're one of the fattest cities in the country... That's all the more reason to stay.

Bummers.

I stopped at Krispy Kreme but the line went literally out the door and so was the drive thru.
First time I seen more people than In n Out. lol. Crazy. So I just left. I can get my doughnut another.

KK's still exist? They mass exited 5 years ago in the upper midwest.

dbuzz 12-12-2012 09:51 PM

next time you're in krispy kreme, ask for an unglazed donut. just try one. omfg, the toasted sugar wheel thing covers the real texture and taste, absolutely disgusting without 100gs of sugar :D

don813 12-12-2012 09:53 PM

just got my doughnuts, therewas a fat line at the crenshaw location...they didn't give out free samples as usual, and they weren't super hot fresh, there was like a 2 minute delay between them packing them and me taking my first bite, crucial time wasted

TheCryptkeeper 12-13-2012 04:26 AM

Our store was out of doughnuts. Sorry you made the trip and the coupon is only good today. A doughnut shop out of doughnuts? That's like a McDonald's out of hamburgers. Can't they bake more if they're running low? Give me a break.
