Apple iTunes has the Slickdeals App for iPhone, iPad, and iPod for Free. If you are downloading from your device, please make sure you search for Slickdeals, Inc. The other apps are not from us. Thanks whocares13
Note, requires iOS 6.0 or later |

an entitled dumb comment was removed from here.
How do you change the setting for what exactly is enabled for notifications? (i.e. frontpage deals, deal alerts, etc.) I only want to be notified for deal alerts, not frontpage deals. Out on Version 1.1! Thanks slickdeals! Now that the notification can be deal alerts alone, how can we make this be the only method of notification in our account? Right now, the options for deal alerts are email/private message/both. A third option needs to be added for app notification only. ETA ON: 1. Android version? Now Available on Google Play. [google.com] 2. iOS update regarding push notifications? Version 1.1 is out and has this. Thanks. 3. iOS update regarding pre-iOS 6 (if ever)? 4. Windows Phone 8? |
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the official version? Yes, this is the only official Slickdeals iPhone App. Where is the Android version? In development. There is 2x more traffic coming from iPhone vs Android, which is why we priortize iPhone app over Android. Why iOS 6 only? There are some iOS 6 specific things we needed to make the app work the way it does. 90% of iPhone users on our site is on iOS 6. Why can't I do X? This is the first version of the app. We felt that this covered majority of the functionality for most people. We rather release the app sooner so everyone can use it, instead of waiting a couple of more months to add some smaller features. This isn't the final version, we're constantly going to be making improvements and adding new features. Updated clarification on Android 2x figure As for the claim about iOS having 2x more traffic than Android remember to distinguish the difference between web usage and sold. We look at actual web usage, not devices sales. We're fully aware of the # of Android vs iOS devices sales. Everything from our own Google Analytics to mobile ad networks [chitika.com] (you can sum up Apple vs all other manufactures to get a 2x difference) to asking users which mobile app they want points back up the 2x figure and why we prioritize iOS over Android. However, we do acknowledge that Android has marketshare and is growing and we're paying close attention to this, which is why we have Android app in development. Don't take it personally, we're a small team of developers with a limited amount of developing resource to go around and always looking to hire more people. |
nice, i'll try it out
|
no HDMI. TD.
|
So if I click a slickdeals link in an email on my iphone; say a thread alert, will it launch the SD app for me or is there an open in slickdeals option?
|
When do we get an app for Android? I'd say the majority of slickdealers are on Android.

I really like this! It looks like the Gmail app so the interface is very familiar. Great job Slickdeals!

beyond that I don't understand all the apps anyway... for me its quicker and more convenient to use bookmarks for the mobile websites than have an app for the twenty web sites I go to. what am i missing? |
Great looking app!
Is there any way to hide the expired deals? It'll be good use of screen real state on the phone. |
In for 50

I'll concur, bring the app to my nexus 4!

This really should be on the front page. Which mod will make it happen?

official slickdeals app on iPad is great!!! iPhone app is not that good. iSlick is better on iphone.

WTF Slickdeals! I guess i'm stuck using iSlick since I'm not loosing my jailbreak! :ranting:

This app is useless so far.
Not a single way to filter anything :( |
Beautiful app, nice to have an "official" one finally.

Excellent application, user interface and experience is best. Great :)

Does the app give you deal alerts and notifications or do we still need to rely on email for that?
That to me is the only reason to use the app over the mobile version. However, it looks and runs great. Good job and I'll let all my iOS friends know about this app. |

I thought this has been free for a while? I love the app. I check it several times a day. They've done a lot of fixes to the app to make it better to.
But they really have done an awesome job with the mobile website. m.slickdeals.com. I actually like using the mobile website more than the app because it allows you to check the popular deals. The iOS and android apps don't allow for that. Only frontpage dealsd, top favorites and top rated. I wish they would update them to allow you to browse popular deals (and trending deals too) |

Boo only ios6 compatible. Until they release an untethered jailbreak this will have to wait I guess

Earlier i was using islick. Now i installed this. Good job SD.
|
Wow, this deal is so meta. BRB, going to DL the app and then view this deal. :)
|
this app shiits all over viewing the site in Safari...NO CONTEST
wahhh you cant filter wahhh...im sure there are some good deals on some diapers for some of you at least the site doesnt lag and freeze everytime you click a frontpage link this app provides an efficient and easy way to view the forums without having to constantly pinch to zoom if you visit the site on your iPhone at all you would be stupid not to grab this app |
Yeah really have been trying to find a decent Android SD app for a long time. iSlick is about as good as it gets right now. Where's that Brian dog mod? I'd like to know how the official SD app is coming along for Android. It's one of the few things I would actually use on my tablet.

I have been thinking about making an Android SD app with some kick ass features. Two problems that I have had are:
1) Not sure about the number people who'd use that 2) Not much time. Apparently SD got an official app coming but I'd still take a crack at it if enough people are interested. |
Very impressed with the app...my first post from the app
|
Shouldn't this be in the Freebies (digital downloads) section ;)
|
thumbs down, where's the android 2.2, 2.3, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 version(s)?
iPhones are not slick! |
deal alert in not working

A few suggestions. Can u add an easy way to check trending deals? Also top rated and top favorites? Also can you make it easier to rep people and thumbs up posts? Also do u have any idea when the iPad and android apps are going to be released? |

The sense of entitlement in this thread shouldn't surprise me, but it still does.

iOS 6 is required? come on SD!

Great app
I love the SD app - works great on the iPhone just like the free HMJ iTunes app (which is hilarious). Between these two, my workday flies by!
|
Nice and it's iPhone 5 optimize
|
We really need an Android version.
|
I downloaded it and it installs as iSlick Free? Am I doing something wrong? I even uninstalled iSlick first. Oh well, it's a lot easier to access SD on something larger than an iPhone anyway.

dang it, missed this thread...
The UI is great. My biggest issue (and the reason why I won't use this app) is the content view. It's similar to the i.slickdeals.net, which I couldn't use, so I went back to m.slickdeals.net. Here's the biggest thing: so much wasted space!!! I hope these pictures convey what I'm talking about. With the app (and i.slickdeals.net), there is so much more unnecessary scrolling. 1st pic is Forum View, the list of topics. See how many topics you can see w/ app vs mobile. 2nd pic is Thread View, the list of comments. See how many comments you can see w/ app vs mobile. |

I'd rather have more screen real estate for reading data, at the sacrifice of touch friendliness. How many times do you have to "thumb to scroll" before you reach the end of a page? Using this thread as an example, I "read" all the way down from post #1 to #40 (40 posts per page). Took me about 9 thumb scrolls vs 20 scrolls w/ the mobile app. The only thing I can't do on http://m.slickdeals.net is check my profile page (to see last posts, etc...) - I have to use the full HTML version for that. |

Usually top rated and top favorited filter out some incredible deals that may not have made it to front page. Or some of them have made it to front page. Anyway, those are two great ways to sort the deals. if you look at islick, youll see what i mean. |
Great app. Posting from it now! Hope there'd be a settings option in the future to opt out of pictures for less data usage and loading times.

is there a way to bookmark threads that im not seeing?

Deals & Steals - Slickdeals, by Hotelnames.net; I got this iOS app quite a while ago and was able to use slickdeals.net user id/pswd to log in. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/d...91082?mt=8 |
Now all we need is a hot deal on some CHEESE to go with all this...
Since it's only for the latest version of the OS, I wonder how everyone would feel if it was for the latest version of Android. Would that make everyone feel better? I'd bet there's a much higher percentage of "i" devices that are easily upgradeable to the latest OS version (iOS 6) than there are Android devices that are easily upgradeable to the latest OS version (4.2). |
App crashed 4 times n a row before it finally opened.....
|
I thought SD was about saving money...not over paying for the apple name on a phone

Hey, Yeah There was a paid and a free version. I have been a user of free version, But features like app notifications for deal alerts etc made me purchase the paid version for $0.99. iOS 6+? No go. Sorry SD, ya let me down.

Who's the programmer that talked sd into developing the app for ios6 and up only!? Major fail. SDers are moderate hackers and want jb on their devices.
|
I just wanna say this app is completely awesome. I really hope they continue to add features. Very nicely done.
|
Does anyone know how the push notifications work? I just got a push notification for a FrontPage deal on Crayola something. I did not set a deal alert for anything related to that.
|
The push alerts seem to be solely for front page deals.
I'd like push alerts for my deal alert items only tbh |
SD should pay us to download this.

I don't have iphone blahhhhhh

No iOS 5 support is a mistake. It is just bad business. Slickdeals is in essence eliminating a huge number of people from using their app. Iphone 3gs runs like crap with iOS 6 and in fact the iPhone 4 is not far off. When you take into account the amount of Jailbroken devices that the new app will not support and the amount of traffic SD will be losing in the long run, it seems failrly cut and dry. IMO
Who exactly was the person that decided 90% of the SD target iPhone users are using iOS 6? I would like to see this study because it is undoubtedly nonsense. Although iSlick will get many a DL from those finding no support for the SD app, they must be happy. |
I'm going to call BS on the 2X iphone statement. I'm in the tech industry and study this and the treands of mobile devices. You either have some bogus monthly data or your taking the hype around the internet. Maybe your comparing one specific version of android?
If you are taking ALL android phones vs ALL iphone traffic, I honestly don't see how you can get those numbers. |
