This is like 100-200 cheaper than the price in May...why aren't there more thumbs up on this deal?

electrobento 12-16-2012 09:13 AM

This is a REALLY excellent deal. I bought the 42 inch version of this exact TV from Amazon back when it was the same price this year, and that was a great deal too.

This TV has an absolutely brilliant picture. Don't hesitate.

ynr00 12-16-2012 09:14 AM

does best buy price matches amazon ?

chowfun27 12-16-2012 09:14 AM

Got the 42" version of this for $548 with the $100 credit.

Add in the Amazon giftcards I bought at 20% off at Meijer and the 10% off Amazon coupon and the total price of this TV came out to less than $300!

wdhendrick 12-16-2012 10:08 AM

I bought the 47" version a little less than 2 weeks ago when they were running the $100 Amazon credit with purchase. At the time the price was $698. I'm chatting now to have them price match it to the current price of $598 - plus the $100 Amazon credit brings my cost down to $498... pretty slick deal!!!

vijisha 12-16-2012 10:16 AM

I have a 2yr old Panasonic TCL-42D2 and i swear the picture quality is better than any samsung/vizio my friends got..... the volume is a bit on the lower side..... but the tvs are really sturdy and a class apart.....

venom3384 12-16-2012 10:16 AM

Is the 55" for $850 also slick? TV looks good, but I wanted something bigger...

tinytoony 12-16-2012 10:18 AM

I have the 47" and it's a great tv. Great price, even with tax that amazon now collects, still cheaper than when I bought it months ago.

The 55" is also on sale for $849, nice!

Inpact 12-16-2012 10:36 AM

Does anyone think this will be cheaper soon? $550 after taxes...

For most of use that know better than to use a wireless connection to a television, this saves money by not having to pay for something which isn't needed.

mrsaturnboing 12-16-2012 11:17 AM

I had this TV for a week and took it back to Best Buy. It had bad vertical banding and it didn't have an analog audio out. The digital audio out also did not support PCM signals, so if your sound bar or audio setup doesn't support DTS decoding, you might have trouble.

cheba63 12-16-2012 11:44 AM

The 42" also has the $100 amazon credit offer. I finally decided to buy it, using my 10% off $300+ coupon, it seemed like a pretty good deal.

Best Buy does price match, I was able to call and get them to do so as my parent's didn't want a TV shipped to them in case they had issues. The only thing was Best Buy says Smart in the title so I had to walk the sales person through Amazon's site to show it was the same tv.

weymouthba 12-16-2012 12:36 PM

Thanks! I just bought the 47' on Saturday for 698 w/100 amazon promo gc. Luckily I did not exceed the 7-day window with the price change and received a 100 dollar refund for the TV.

Now I just waiting on my $100 promotional credit to post to my account.

ahjeck 12-16-2012 01:52 PM

After reading the 2-star review on Amazon, it persuaded me to not buy this. Not worth the headache if you get the vertical banding issue :/

Awesome price for a 47" led tv by the way....

Just bought this, combining it with the 10% over $200 Amazon promotion. Even though I didn't have the promotion email, I called Amazon Customer Service after ordering the TV and asked if I was eligible. They said yes and I asked to apply the promotion to my existing order. Got the TV for $539. Sweeet. Love Amazon and its customer service.

Panasonic LED E50 is best LED TV and it is ISP, but it is still LCD. If you need monitor for PC you can buy LED TV.
Plasma has only one issue it has reflective glass, but U50 has superb picture, white is white, black is black and all colors are real. So if reflection is not issue for you, buy plasma U50.

That's what I said the last few years. This year, tossed out a perfectly working Sony Wega for a larger LED TV. It was built like a tank and weighed as much. Was never going to break so had to sacrifice it so I could waste some money.

What you need to do is chat with the Customer service rep and tell them your 10% code "received in email" is not applying to your purchases. They will ask when did you receive the email and I replied Dec 11th. Afterwards, they asked to submit the order and give them the order number, and then adjusted the price down to reflect the 10%. Good luck!

It's back... price is back down to $849, $100 Amazon GC is back till 12/22 and Discover 5% CB is good until 12/31. The total after everything is $706.55. If you purchased at the $888 price, you have yet another chance to get your price match in and lock in an even better price. The TV has 4 HDMI, Apps, Networking (Cat5, no built-in Wifi).

Also, the 10% Amazon coupons that were emailed should work on this, possibly bringing the total to $625.95 (10% Amazon Coupon, 5% Discover CB, $100 Amazon GC)...

My TV arrived last week and I'm very happy with it.

47" TC-L47DT50 3D TV + $200 Amazon Credit $999 + Free Shipping LOVE TO GET THIS

CA TAX KILL THE DEAL AS ALWAYS

tkrushing 12-17-2012 09:54 AM

Ok I went ahead and bought the 42" version for $549.99 - $100 amazon credit - 10% off so in theory I got this for about $399.99 not bad. I did not have a 10% off code and as people were resorting to selling them in another SD thread I decided to try my luck against customer service chat. I went through about 5 reps before I got someone that said they would put a note on my order and apply the 10% credit after it shipped. Some reps asked for a code some asked when I got the email, the last guy I just told him my code wouldn't work and I already made the order then he asked when I received the email and I told him sometime last week (someone else said Dec 11) then he instantly said he would give me credit. My experience is if they hesitate just go ahead and move on to another rep.

Had to beg for it. I did not get a code and made a stink about not getting one. Finally someone emailed me and said they would give me another 100 off promotion to make up the difference for the code.

Where you see $100 amazon credit...Is it still goin on..I am not able to find out...

I don't think it is but they gave it to me anyways because I referenced the earlier promotion. Just depends on the rep in guess because I had to go through a few to get it.

Is did go up $100 but now the $100 amazon credit [amazon.com] is available on this 47" until 12/22/13.

Now we just need the price to drop back down again.

Thanks, we just picked up the 55" inch for my mother-in-law for Christmas. Seriously considering getting one for us too. Great deal!

They just sent me an email saying I have the promo credit. I don't see the credit anywhere but when I make a purchase, the promo credit is applied automatically (it looks like it will keeping applying until the entire amount is used).

datsig 03-27-2013 08:02 AM

If you have not spend your $100 promo credit, it expires March 31, 2012 for those you got this deal
