Fyi...my last Newegg Refurb deal (microphone) was visibly dirty (around the mouthpiece and the plug-in part). Sent in the rebate and tossed the item.

Ordered y'day and received it already today. The products come in a simple polythene pack with the UPC label on the outside as a sticker. Not too bad for a freebie!

They look and smell new. No visible use except as noted above it's in a clear plastic bag. UPC is a sticker so I peeled them off and stuck them back on the rebate form and off to the PO they went. Fastest rebate turnaround for me ever!

Oh no doubt about that. My previous refurb FAR Sparkle PSU had dust bunnies in them. It was more like USED and not REFURB.

never heard of those cleaning wipes that kill 99.9% of germs etc... but to toss them... how bad were they.... 99% of SDers would just clean them up... you must be in the 1% and can "afford" to just toss purchases out... :shake::lol:....

It was yellow-tinted, caked-on....type bad.

that bad... well then you should have cleaned them, de-germ'd them, taken the ear covers off, taped them where neededed and then spray painted them you color of choice...:lmao:

When they ask for the UPC, do they mean the label stickers on the plastic pouch? There's no box or anything, that's the only UPC looking thing I see...

Even the rebate is good for two but you still need two stamps because of the weight of these forms for 2.

I just tried to fit a regular headphne set into my x box 360 controller and it did not fit i am going to lean towards no on this one. but I am still going to order seeing as the headset is free and i can use them on my computer :nod:

I bought an adapter on ebay for $1-2 so 3.5mm headsets can connect to the xbox controller.

My son used to break the xbox headsets all the time. In all fairness they are cheaply made.

So I buy stuff like this and if it breaks I don't care. Also I use internet ip for work conference calls. The quality doesn't have to be good. Just as long as people can hear me.

So I am in for 2. Since they can go on the same rebate, worth my time.

FYI, I got these via UPS last Friday. They are packaged in a plastic bag and the UPC is the sticker on the bag. They look pretty decent for a basic headset.... can't complain for free.

Received mine today, totally useless, wires are short where connector meet the wire. I will be calling for a refund or replacement.

Just got 2. I just bought a cheap Logitech headset, hopefully Walmart will let me return it!

A note of caution - mine arrived without a UPC sticker on the bag. I can't apply for the rebate, and Newegg is refusing to accept them for return without a UPC. I'm still trying to resolve this, but am surprised and disappointed with Newegg customer service.

Given the reviews, it appears that even free is too much. Add in refurb = Pass.

It's a great headset, I got it for $8 six days ago. Because as I have a small head, it fits nice and snug. It's comfortable, great for long calls.

Newegg CS tries to be cranky at times. If you have protected your order with Google Trusted Store you should open a case with them. :wave:

Try another customer relationship, as I know newegg's customer service is among the best.

Maybe it was just bad luck. So what I suggest is work with Newegg CS and most times it will work in your favor. If not you can use Google Trusted Store assistance.

Rebate says Purchase between Dec 20 - Dec 26.

im sure if you call/chat with newegg and send them a picture of the bag showing its un "tampered" with ( I had to cut the plastic bag they came in to get the UPC off) then they will work something out...

and if that gets you no where... wait a day and call back and try a different CSR...

if still nothing... in the end you can always open a dispute with your credit card...

Please contact Newegg Customer Service. As others suggested to me in this thread, keep trying until you find someone who will help you. This was resovled for me today when I was offered a gift card, which I think was a very reasonable solution. I'm back to singing the praises of Newegg!

That's the number printed underneath the bar code on the stickers that were affixed to the two bags I received, so I assumed that it is the UPC. There was nothing else even vaguely resembling a UPC anywhere else in the package.

There is no sticker of any sort. Just a clear sealed plastic bag. I even checked the inside of the envelope, but there was nothing.

Shipment delayed...again. THis only happens with Shoprunner..UPS just came today and dropped off packages from Amazon.com and Nordstrom. Both ordered same time..

But not shoprunner..delayed due to Adverse weather conditions! It has not snowed in 2 days.. unreal.

Received both headsets in like new condition with both UPCs on the bag. Registered online, printed out, taped UPC's to form, in the mail. Sound is good on both (did not test mic).

I mailed mine on 12/22/12 and when I track it, it says "Your submission has been received, and is waiting for processing."

So, it looks like it takes about 2 to 3 weeks for them to "receive your submission."

I'm sure you'll get your rebate. After all, it is a "Newegg" rebate, so I'm sure they will credit your card back if there was some rebate center mix-up and you have copies of all your documentation you sent in.

I never received an automated message that my documentation was "received" on this rebate... but I did on some of the other Newegg ones. so maybe they are having a Y2k13 problem. ;)

I would give it until about Jan. 21st or so, and if you don't see any activity, then I would start to "raise hell."

Btw, Newegg rebates are slow as hell. I got back my Diablotek Manufacturer Rebate before the Newegg one. They use the same processor as Kaspersky Rebates, which usually take 12 to 14 weeks to come back. So... keep that in mind.
