The rebate and the placement of the comma in the statement on the rebate does not entirely seem clear to ME about this point.

Furthermore, it looks like you get a free 20 oz bottle rather than a cash rebate. Works out to getting 6 bottles for something like $15. Not a bad deal still, but certainly not as good as 4 bottles for $3.98.

I think that the rebate is being misinterpreted. The way I read it is that you buy 2 bottles, send in the register receipt and get a rebate on ONE of the bottles. They won't be mailing a bottle of it since that would cost them quite a bit more. Plus, why would they list a max value on the rebate? I'm betting it'll be a prepaid VISA or AMEX card mailed to you.

I'd call the 1-800-526-3013 help number referenced on the rebate form, but since I already picked my order up, I won't waste the time...

Looks like you'd need two receipts. The discount wont apply when purchasing that way. Seems a risk to me. I suppose if you needed something else you could but that to get it above $25 and then it would be just BOGO.

I agree with pjdavep, They wont be sending a bottle but rather a GC or check. There would be no reason for them to state "Max Value of $12.99" if they were simply sending you another bottle.

I do however see an issue with the assumed rebate amount in the first post. If you were to purchase 4 bottles to receive the $10 off $25 coupon, that would all be on the same receipt. The rebate clearly states that you must attach the original store receipt. Doing so only entitles you to use one rebate form for a purchase of 4 bottles. Alternatively, you could buy just two bottles and use the rebate, but you miss out on the $10 off coupon.

Why would two receipts be needed? It's common for rebates to be submitted as two submissions with one receipt.

I was planning on calling Monday. In addition to one receipt I was going to ask about UPC code. Sometimes the UPC has like a 1 then the cluster of digits, then ends with a digit. Do they want last 5 of the cluster, or last 4 of cluster of digits and that final number

Essentially, the $10 off coupon is the "free shipping" because, coincidentally, the shipping is almost exactly $10. If you live near a store, it is a great deal! If you don't, still good if you use it all the time.

But for newer cars, it does basically nothing.

i think its for a free coupon of techron. seems like a big waste of resources to send out a visa/amex gift card with 6.99 on it. maybe a check idk. plus it says up to 12.99 like a lot of coupons do. if its a free coupon, technically i think the deal would be 27.96(4*6.99) - 10(dotw52)=17.96 +tax for 6 bottles of techron

but i'm calling monday to ask anyways, so thats just useless speculation

oh btw...hopefully someone does a buy 1 get 1 promotion. use the free coupon on that and then you get 2 for free. advance had it buy one get one last june

This stuff is the real goods. Probably the best fuel system/injector cleaner there is for consumer use.

I thought the Chevron fuel at the station already had the "Techron" in it. So let's assume I have 20 gallon tank and this concentrate in a bottle is $1.00/bottle (after all the rebates, etc..)
The cost would be $0.05/gallon (with the hassle of the MIR, etc.. it's probably a bit more.)

But if you can find Chevron fuel for less than $0.05 + hassle factor more than whatever station you fuel up at, I guess it's a good deal. And of course, assuming this is the same "Techron" stuff they put in their gas..

What i'm saying is perhaps some might be better off just filling up their tanks at Chevron. ;)

i might be able to help you with your thought on placebo effect dealhunterCa. I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee w/ 330K miles on it. Only thing I've had done since I purchased it with 125K miles is a new fuel pump and a silly rear main seal (common for jeeps) outside of that every 10K miles the synthetic oil gets changed, every 50K techron fuel system cleaner and every 80K transmission fluid is replaced. Used to do 100 miles a day - non highway miles. Probably the combination of all 3 things together, but "frogger" still runs great and I still get 18 to 22 miles to gallon. IMO...keeping the current vehicle running great with cheap insurance is one of my SLICKEST deals!!

These types of cleaners don't work worth a damn. You're better off just buying top tier fuels instead of trying to clean sludge from crappy fuel. Most of these fuel products cause additional damage TBH. If your engine is misfiring because your injectors are clogged, buy new injectors. That's really all there is to say about it...

This has worked every winter in my 4 carb 98 Yamaha R1. I run it a couple times over the winter and have had no problems in the spring for 14 yrs. Letting it sit after a run in another poor running bike I bought cleaned it completely when I started it in the spring.

if one of you have a 2005 4 runner,

i found it easier to just replace the whole front caliper with those.. just couldn't get the pins out and couldnt get my c clamps to be placed correctly or what not.

just buy them from advance at 40% off and they're only like $40 + $20 or so for brake pads, easy job!

One piece of advice, I read on line is to use this just before your due for an oil change. You want to get any cleaner out that might end up in your oil. Makes sense and doesn't cost anything if you plan it right.
