Cheapest 70" LED HDTV $1499 - Element @Costco

$1499 after $500 OFF, great price for those who dont want 3D.

http://www.costco.com/Element-70%...56913.html

looking good but I'm holding out for a 3D...

section31 12-25-2012 11:47 PM

3d is a fad op lol

musicman40nj 12-25-2012 11:49 PM

3d is a fad... also if I am paying $1500+7% NJ tax for a 70" I am going to spring a few extra Benjamins for Brand Name versus Walmart name.

Yeah, good luck when it breaks out of warranty and they don't have parts to fix them because they only get complete sets from China.

Yeah, good luck when it breaks and the warranty requires you to ship the beast to someplace in the midwest at your expense to get swapped out with a refurb because they don't have a service network like the big brand names. This thing'll easily cost $200 or more to ship for warranty repair.

At least it's Costco. Isn't their return policy ridiculous;y customer friendly? I heard that you can return something 10 years later and if you aren't satisfied they will refund it or replace it with something similar.

They're much more strict on TV's, computers and electronics. Stated policy is 90 days now for those items, and then you have to deal with the manufacturer's warranty.

I don't think I could spend this much on an Element...

Those things changed people took advantage of this it was just unethical. I remember my relative did that twice returned his computer within 2 years got a refund and bought another one on the spot. Anyhow the size of a T.V. and price is pretty slick its just the brand I can see branded T.V's soon going at that price.

The Sharp 633U was $1499 last year at Frys for Black Friday, so I can see the low end of the brand names at this price before too long.

Imagine next BF :P I think I might upgrade T.V.s soon. However it seems T.V.s will go up now with the 4K gimmick coming in the future.

We don't even have broadcast 1080p signals in this country. I think 4K sets will take a long time to catch on here. Pretty much for gamers and upscaled blu ray, though Sony has said their PS4 won't deliver 4k res...so what's the point?

Well apparently there are some DVD players with that already. Last read the PS4 might come with 4k res so possibility it will be pushed to the public to be up to date. However its truth its barely being pushed with 1080p being the standard from the tradition, but for money to flow push a gimmick soon I can see 4k res being pushed in 2014.

I want a 48fps The Hobbit edition TV with frodo's furry feet slipper add on. Not a gimmick at all, it helps when watching cold movies in the basement.

costco has one of the best warranty policy and with amex, squaretrade - and description said this was assembled in USA.
but i agree element isnt the best brand, unless they use parts from samsung/sharp like some other lesser brands...i doubt they can make their own 70" yet. no reviews to look at though.

if you can afford, but a good brand will put you over $2k.

I have the 50" costco element. Picture quality isnt the best but its the only tv in the house with decent sound. I bought it because with the costco square trade warrant (29 for me and i think 99 for this set) means you have at least a five year set.

conrad1100 12-28-2012 04:58 PM

i am trying to wait to get the vizio at this price

sam_shizzel 12-28-2012 05:19 PM

never even heard of Element, im guessing its a cheapo brand like Vizio. If im spending $1,500 id go with name brand but to each his own.
