Is there a list somewhere of all the content that will give you the $5 coupon?

I have $52.95 in Amazon Software/Video Games credit. It is just a shame that it is mostly $5 coupons which don't stack. I don't think $5 off is really going to entice me to buy anything, seeing how the Steam sale is going on right now.

PS: I'm a big fan of Amazon and Steam both! |
Looks like they also added the Absolutely Great Square Pack [amazon.com] which went for $10 when it was on sale a few months ago. It's be a killer buy for $5 after coupon for:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Augmented Edition Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link DLC Hitman: Blood Money Just Cause 2 Just Cause Supreme Commander 2 The Last Remnant Quantum Conundrum |

This is the current complete list of 2012 Editor's Choice Digital Games (aside from stuff listed above). They're adding stuff to the list everyday and will continue to add more to it in January. And note that the prices listed now aren't necessarily the prices they'll have in January, but all of those will accept the $5 coupons. |
Is OP an Amazon employee? Where are these prices coming from?

I'm looking at a couple games to get that $5 coupon (Trine for $1.99 and Rayman Legends for $9.99) and a bunch of the reviewers are complaining about Securerom DRM. Is that really a big deal? |

Walking Dead is currently at 12.49...would be slick @ 7.49 (5 off coupon). I'm guessing it'll go back to normal price though before the sale? Anyone know?

Can't we just have the after coupon price? That's basically the deal and it would make it a lot less confusing. I'm sure people without the coupon can do the math. |

Anyone know how Mass Effect 3 works on PC as far as making the important decisions from earlier games? I played ME 1 and 2 on console but will be playing 3 on PC. Have they included something like on Wii U where you get to make the most important decisions from the earlier games at the beginning of 3?
|
"Command and Conquer The Ultimate Collection" was $25 before without coupon, so that certainly sucks.
"NFS: MW" was $20 before coupon previously, so that also sucks. |
Lowest price yet for Dark Souls. Going to probably get it at the $13 discount.

All I can say is that I have some of these $5 coupons and so far I don't see anything in the preview worth buying -- but I've already purchased a ton of Amazon's catalog already. But if Amazon does run the Square Enix bundle again for $10 (I guess AC) and you don't have the games, that's an insta-buy. KoA might be tempting too if I didn't already own it since it includes the DLC @ $10, but it's worth pointing out that GMG had the standalone for less a month or so ago. |
Kingdom of Amalur Complete isn't on the editor's list...but it's going to qualify for the coupon, right?
|
Quote:
I might get Mass Effect 1 & 2 now while they are still cheaper then buy the 3 Deluxe after.. should still be ~$25. Hmmmmm... |
Quote:

In talking with two different Amazonians, I was told (twice) that you can stack the $5 coupons.
When I go to purchase a game in January...probably the 1st day...if I cannot stack said coupons, I will be calling them again and getting it fixed. Amazon has been great for me in the past, helping out with situations like this. If the first person I talk to does not help, I will call back right away and try again until I find the right person for the job. Now, all of this seems like a lot of work. So hopefully we will just be able to stack the $5 coupons and be happy. *fingers crossed* |

Of course I'm sure you can get Amazon to give you an extra $5 credit, but that's just Amazon CS, and basically it's begging. In summary: you're dreaming. |
why is it mostly EA games? -_-

To get the worst deals out of the way first I hope. Even after coupon most of these are tepid at best. I was hoping for ME3 DDE at $10 AC.

Kingdoms of Amalur was a bust for 38 Studios, Rhode Island, and especially Curt Schilling, but it's a great game for $10 if it actually goes at the price. Terrific combat mechanics for a single player action RPG game and lots of areas to explore, I finished it back in the spring and it was well worth the firesale $18 price at the time.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition $12.99 AC @ Amazon
Amazon has Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for $17.99, which can be brought down to $12.99 by anyone with a Editors Choice credit. (Amazon has been giving these out like crazy the past month at least)
This is the cheapest DS: PtDE has ever been. This version redeems on Steam and utilizes Games for Windows Live. http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Souls-...TCGYKJB693 |
Deal is live.
|
Yeah, coupon works but some of the games on the list aren't on sale yet.
|
yeah coupons work but most of the EA deals aren't live yet
Tony @ CAG said the prices should flip within 1 hour....so keep an eye out if you're still gonna be up! and Hotline Miami won't be getting any cheaper this month...so I'll just bite |
is this live Ive bought 2 codes, wanting to do third but it just asks to reauth no way to confirm that it will not charge the regular $18

If you were able to pick up the $5 Promo Credit from Amazon....you can use it towards Hotline Miami which is $7.49 - 5.00 = $2.49
http://www.amazon.com/Devolver-Di...B009GKT2Y0 Yes, I know this was mixed in those massive-bulk threads with all the games listed, but after looking through them this is one of the only "good" deals. Thought I would save everyone the trouble that didn't see those posts a few days ago. |

prices are now live on everything front page

Hope you're right and they surprise us down the line with some more interesting, cheaper titles. Hotline Miami for $2.49 is the only deal that is a slick deal right now, but I know if I bought it I'd never play it. Kingdoms of Amalur for $10 will be a good deal. I guess there's a few others that could be justified for getting just $5 off if you have no other good games to play. Thankfully, I have a huge backlog from the last few months of great deals and either have these games or have seen them for cheaper. |
Not hoping for much but if someone has a spare $5 coupon code that would be awesome.

Hi guys! Happy new year!
I would like to buy Kingdom of Amalur Complete Bundle on Amazon, but I don't know if the Origin Key is region locked or not. Can anyone help me? |
Bioshock 1/2 bundle was briefly free (after coupon) when this deal went up, that was nice.
Nyrmetros, if you didn't buy the 2k bundles yet those will return tomorrow and in the deal. All will be the same price except Bioshock, which will be raised to $10. Spec Ops and the Darkness II will also be $7.50 ($2.50 after coupon) individually. NBA 2k13 will be $10 after coupon. Source for all that is the guy who sets the prices on Steam posting elsewhere. |

is it too late to get the coupon?
nvm.. read it.. most packs are dead :c |
But back tomorrow. And I'm sure you could find someone who has a tonne of the codes on their account to proxy buy for you.
|
Alright..so its back tomorrow! I just need bioshock 2 and borderlands goty. Will give 5 amazon gc.
|
I'd jump on ME3 if it was steam activated..if that ever happen
|
Does anyone think that Mass Effect 3 will go lower than this before the sale ends? $15 for the Collector's Edition still feels high to me, but I would like to play it this year.

Quote:

C'mon, Origin may suck but it generally works. Finished both ME3 and Amalur this year using it, DA-Origins, expansion, and DA2 and ME2 before that.
People that avoid buying EA games are missing out on some good stuff, yeah Origin is not as good as Steam but it's not that big of a deal to use it just like you use Steam; i.e., don't autoload it with Windows etc. |
Many of these games were cheaper back in December - without any coupons - Amazon has raised the prices so you think you're getting a deal with their $5 off coupon.
I know that they were definitely cheaper, why? I bought many of them between Thanksgiving week and the end of December. Packages they put together for astounding prices. Especially the Paradox Packages, the Darksider Package, the Bioshock package - so many I lost track. But I have $359.63 in Credits in my Amazon Digital Software Download Account - that gives you an idea of how many games I was able to buy. And FYI - if you bought the BioShock package - heck if you bought any package - Amazon gave you a Coupon for EACH GAME in the package. So when I purchased the big Paradox Package that contained Crusader and about 12 DLCs - I received $65 in coupon credit - 13 games times $5 = 65 dollars. How can you beat that? Well, if they only stacked them...... Korian (wishing Amazon would Stack his $359.63 in Digital Software Credits....) |
All of the 2k bundles are no longer available.

Slomo - I checked (had to search my emails and add everything up (Amazon doesn't make it simple to find out what and where the credits come from) - this is what I had - $85 in Amazon's online MMO games - $54.63 in expired 2K games (I used some before they expired, but the remaining credits stay there for some reason), $220 - the rest are $5 credits on Editor's Choice games - I seriously doubt I'll be buying 44 separate games - and it's too bad I can't give the coupons away to other SD'ers, since I'm not going to use them.... Either this sale is pretty lame, or I just own too many games already.
I keep going back and forth over The Secret World now that it's free to play tho. |
I keep on going back and forth over kingdom of amalur. I dont think it will ever be cheaper than $10 for the complete collection. what's keeping me back is origin. I know the service isn't too bad, as I already have 2 games on origin. But i would rather have a game on steam than origin.

Got the 2K Crazy Action pack as well for $5.00.

Bought Hotline Miami ($2.50! Awesome) and the 2K Crazy Action pack pretty much solely for Borderlands GOTY at $5.
May also buy that Absolutely Great Square pack if that goes live, even though I have most of those games. Dark Souls for $13 is an amazing deal! I'd buy if I didn't already have on console :) Quote:

War of the Roses and Max Payne 3 are both getting matched to Steam's $15 price, so each will be $10 after coupon

I recommend the game, even with the Origin requirement. I bought it when it first came out and got around 75 hours out of it. |
Speaking of Amalur, anyone know what kind of play time the DLC packs add to the game? They're still $10 each separately, which is dumb, since I could conceivably just buy the entire game again for $10, just wondering if the DLC is worth jumping into Amalur again.
Nevermind, I noticed they give you 3 separate keys, one for the game and 2 for each DLC. I went ahead and bought it, kept the DLC for myself and added the game to my son's Origin account. Smokin' deal. |

There was nothing in the "fine print" that I could find, and it took him over 10 minutes of looking to find something. Since I was told from talking with earlier emplyees of Amazon that the stacking should work, he gave me the credit. I hope other find this useful. |

For $13 AC each, I picked up a copy for myself and my gf. My gf and I have been talking about starting an MMO. The nice thing about this F2P game is it looks fun for a bit and I won't be getting into hardcore raiding like in WoW. Once we do most of everything we can choose to continue by picking up the DLC for extra raids or just stop and move on.
It always seems like people who complain about new MMOs are looking for that replacement for WoW that they can play for 10+ years, with a huge player base. That's just not going to happen. Especially with the MMO saturation and the various F2P games out there. WoW is going to drop in it's subscribers and everyone will be fragmented to various games. More than likely it'll be people picking up MMOs for 1-6 months then getting the next MMO that comes out, repeat. |

I do like the music (I know some people don't), so that's the cherry on top for me. It's still an indie game, it's still not a 40hr grind, but it's one of the most fun games I've played all year. It was 'new' enough for me; being 34 (almost 35) and playing games for more than 25 years....I've seen damn near everything, so if it's something fairly new and original, I'm a fan of it. Hotline Miami fits that mold, as does FTL (one of my other favorites of the year). :woot: It's a shame that two games made by only a few people each that sold for peanuts are more enjoyable (to me) and more worth buying than a lot of the major releases that came out this year. But hey, that's JMHO. ;) |

I'm not saying I don't love these type of Indie games - I was just surprised to hear people talking about it like it is a huge meaningful gaming experience. You added a bit of clarification to that love I keep seeing. And hell yes, it gets harder. Esp since I'm not too good with dual sticks.. EDIT: Interesting, as I typed out my response to you, it occurred to me that maybe the game does not require that you use a controller. I went in and tried again with house and keyboard, and it's much more fun now - less hectic feeling. |
