This seems like a bad idea... if you wanted to add a scent to your items wouldn't you do so in the dryer (assuming you are using a dryer rather than air drying with a clothesline)? Why do it in the washer, when you dry the item you will most likely lose the fragrance.

I'm going to guess that someone has already tested this out before it came to market. But that's just me and my way of thinking...

They do have scented things you put in the dryer that have worked for many years. This is a gimmick that doesn't even work well, read the reviews on amazon. People say if you air dry your clothes this item is worth it but if you put it in the dryer the scent seems to get lost.

Sorry but not a gimmick. This thing s awesome but it works ONLY if you use the right amount, and there seems to be a widespread misconception about what the right amount is. I take exactly half of what the measuring cup can hold and it works AMAZING!

I even used this once while the washing machine was filling up with the washing machine lid open, and there happened to be a fan blowing air next to the washing machine (this happened last summer) and in the time it took for the washing to machine fill up, the fan blew scented air that left my apartment smelling awesome the whole day. Also, here's one trick I learned online. Take 2 table spoons of this thing and put them inside your vacuum cleaner bag at the time you're installing a new one. When you vacuum, your whole home will smell like this. Saved me from buying the expensive feebreeze branded bags they sell for my vacuum cleaner that don't even work this well. And with the clothes you're washing? It's originally intended purpose? Best product of its kind I have ever used. It's really unstoppable!

From the description, it sounds like it has a different application than the softener. These unstopables are really perfume pellets which add scent to your clothing. Softener as the term indicates, keeps your clothes soft.

From the FAQ:

I bought these last time they were a deal, and I am not sure they are worth the money. As a pp mentioned, the scent does fade after the clothes come out of the dryer. The scent is still evident, but not as strong. Plus, the bottle goes rather quickly. I have seen these at Target for $5, so I think I am going to pass.

I use these things and they're awesome. The scent seems to last a pretty long time...I do think they cost way too much considering how quickly they get used though :(

This product is a waste of money IMO. I have tried it only as intended in washer. Not impressed. I get better results using Bounce sheets in the dryer.

Yeah I was hoping to get a real comparison as the function of both are self explanatory but the softener already has a strong scent too.

I'm a repeat customer of these. I like them and they work for me. Wish the lush scent would go on sale so I can try them...

I line dry most of my things. -This works great. I use just enough to cover the bottom of the lid.
I do put my towels in the dryer. It works for me there too. My son came in the other day and said "Wow our house smells like Caden's house" I thought the amount I use is a little overpowering. The towels I washed last week still have the scent in the closet. It's not "give me a headache" strong, but I still smell it.

This. We love this stuff, and I especially love this scent. Most of our clothes go in the dryer, and the scent stays just fine.

I used these a bunch of times (bought 3 containers) but was not impressed. The smell does not last that long and you need to use a lot of them in each wash. Just wasn't worth the expense IMO. I bought them for much more than this, but even at this price I am passing.

My wife started using these and I must say I'm impressed! Well worth it! Give it a try!

got these the last time they were on sale. they are ok. i usually use a full capful w/ a full wash and the scent afterward was OK but overall i dont think they are worth it. doesnt last as long as you'd think.
it's not bad to use for your towels and linens though. i dont use them so much w regular clothes.

Thanks OP! Love this for linens and towels! The scent definitely lasts about a week and half. I fill the cap up to no more than 1/2 and that’s enough for a large load of towels.

I wouldn't recommend for your clothes simply because the scent can be overpowering and if you use body scents/perfume/cologne it can be a fight between the two scents.

I've tested these out before, they have a very long lasting & strong fresh detergent scent coming out. In fact it might be too strong for a lot of people

Ummm yeah, that's why my clothes smell like the laundry detergent I use....

Dryer sheets are the devil's own creation. I stopped using them years ago and don't miss them.

That and modern machines with an "automatic dry" mode recommend against using sheets as they mess with the moisture sensor. Liquid softener in the wash cycle really is the best all around. These unstoppables are best used just for things that will sit around a long time (like sheets, towels, dog beds, etc) since the fragrance really "sticks".

It technically isn't a softener, it is an enhancer. In my opinion, I like it better than downy. It doesn't make your clothes feel oily. The smell is much stronger and lasts longer than downy. It says two weeks but I don't feel that is accurate. It is more expensive though. Downy can get more loads of laundry smelling good in one bottle.

I add mine on the second rinse in the wash. Worth the purchase for nicely smelling clothes? Yes.

This stuff leaves a beautiful scent that you enjoy all day. It's such a nice fresh scent, nothing gross and overpowering. Also, it makes your laundry room smell heavenly ;)
