Is this the model where the mop head (which is basically a thick towel-like material) can be removed and thrown in the washing machine?

Yes it is. Normally a microfiber cloth.

Nice. Saves money vs buying disposable cloth heads for it.

catnapped 01-03-2013 05:54 PM

Keep in mind there's two things about this that might irritate some people...the trigger is thumb activated and not a squeeze thingy and the spray squirts BEHIND the mop and not in front of it. Certainly not a deal breaker for most but something to remember.

Also, it seems to be more durable than the consumer-grade Reveal mops (which I've had two of break)

slomer 01-03-2013 05:56 PM

This is a good deal if you can get it and I have been waiting for a deal on a refillable spray mop for my laminate floors. There is one location showing a few in stock in the city but none in my 2 closest locations. Thanks anyway OP.

KraziAzn 01-03-2013 06:00 PM

damn none of the stores near me has it!

RugerRedhawk 01-03-2013 06:01 PM

So you can refill this with your own solutions?

shackle101 01-03-2013 06:01 PM

I got the Libman one it's pretty nice and durable, but I've seen this one before it has a much large cloth size. Libman however I know for a fact sprays pretty good. I've had other swiffer brands (you can by cloths you can wash- Ebay ) and they have all broke on me fairly quickly.

Yes you can. You can with pretty much any of them by just refilling the bottles (even swiffer brands)

MLmadness 01-03-2013 06:32 PM

This video shows the unit in action. The unit they are showing doesn't use the reservoir that is included with the unit in this post. Theirs attaches to a reservoir on a janitor cart or a backpack. It does show accurately what the spray is going to be like and how the manufacturer thinks it should be used. Youtube [bit.ly]

gaul85 01-03-2013 06:35 PM

Save the hassle and just get the ocedar from walmart/target

whocares13 01-03-2013 06:39 PM

Couldn't find in the store :(

kotsovmp 01-03-2013 06:44 PM

My store showed it had 24 in stock but when I got there the only one to be found was misplaced in a bin with $29 mops. Luckily I got that one. Thanks!

MrHalliday 01-03-2013 06:50 PM

Interesting, but the reviews on HD.com are quite negative !!

MBZ321 01-03-2013 06:52 PM

Good deal if you can find one. The consumer-grade ones are junk. Just had one completely fall apart after a year. Almost bought a replacement (grocery store had the home versions for $9.99 this week), but I may have to check this out

How do you check store inventory? The product page on the HD website says online only

I know it's a SD sin to call the store but I think in cases of mops sold at Home Depot an exception can be made. I called the store and they said they showed 24 in stock. Of course I only found 1 when I got there.

I have one of these and love it!

We just got bamboo flooring installed. What kind of cleaner do people use on hardwood floors these days?

Yes, I'm sure it was the one thing in the place that any of them ever wanted.

Some of you need paranoia pills.

we use a mop similar to this and fill the tank with water and about 1-2 tablespoons of pinesol. seems to work better than anything else on our dark bamboo floors.

We have strand woven bamboo floors and Bona hardwood cleaner does the best job without leaving any residue. Their mops don't hold up very well, so I'm thinking of picking up this Rubbermaid mop and give it a try.

mikeyz 01-04-2013 08:20 AM

all the local stores near me come up as full price on the website

johnnyz86 01-04-2013 08:48 AM

Is store number the same as when you go on home depot's site and search for a store? The PDF link is broken, and the inventory checker says inventory information not available.

When you go back to the store look up and down the aisle at there overstock.
Look for this number written on the boxes 374-821

Don't put a zero in front of the store number.

The Microfiber pad itself costs $8.00

Just picked one up.

Thanks OP

of_the_troops 01-04-2013 12:16 PM

I went to one of the stores in my area. They had at least 8 in stock, but the sticker showed $39.97 IIRC. I figured I'd check the price at the register just in case and it rang up as $9.93. With military discount I got it for $8.94. Thanks OP!

mwhuffman 01-04-2013 02:36 PM

Picked up one in a Nashville area HD this morning for $9.93. When I got it home, I discovered the bottle had a crack in it and leaked. Had to make another trip to exchange it. Seems to be a good design, though. It's light years better than the Bona microfiber mop. If you want an extra bottle so you can use different cleaners, I'd suggest buying more than one mop just to get the extra bottle. The bottles cost almost as much as the sale price of the mop.

TuggMcgroin 01-04-2013 02:52 PM

Just scored 1. Thanks

kos10 01-04-2013 06:29 PM

Thanks OP! Picked up 3 for $9.93 each.

ssudarshan75 01-04-2013 08:03 PM

I picked one up, while its a good deal, it looks like a floor mop from the 70s :)

Orangeballer 01-05-2013 05:23 AM

Picked up one last night. Thanks, OP!

when the pad is dirty i use use a microfiber towel on the bottom of the mop and works just as well. Costco sells a pak of 30 microfiber towels for 14.99
also the bona wood floor cleaner really works well and that is on sale at costco the next 2 weeks. Guess going to costco tomorrow lol

How do you know the Bona will be on sale?

Looks like Rubbermaid Reveal is a copycat of the Bona Floor Mop. I bought the Bona a couple of weeks ago at HD pricematched from Target and the reviews are true. HD I think will also PM BB&B which I probably should have thought about as they sell the mop for $40-20% coupon = $32 which becomes $28.80 with HD's 10% PM.

Had I done this with the recent Paypal promo of $10 credit for $30 in-store purchase at HD, my total price would have been $18.80 + tax (instead of $26 w/ tax) but I would have had to buy a filler worth $12.20 to get the $10 credit of which I could have bought a couple of Bona microfiber pads.

I would have bought this Rubbermaid for less than $10 if I haven't bought the Bona yet . This is a slick deal! Though not as great reviews as the Bona, the price alone is more than worth it.

I just realized that the OP mop is not the same thing I was looking at which is the Reveal Microfiber Spray Mop that has great reviews on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-...B003YHF4AC

The OP Mop is the Rubbermaid Professional spray mop which is a cheap version. It got bad reviews on Amazon.

Fyi while the costco deal is a good price for ready to use, you can buy the concentrate for much less. 3rd Party sellers on Amazon [amazon.com] have it for $34 for 1 gallon concentrate which makes 8 gallons of ready to use. Side note: Professional and standard Bona are the same product (which makes for entertaining reading when reviews claim the pro cleans better).
