You didn't overpay for either of those games at $8 each.....at $4 each its highway robbery, both are excellent side scrollers. Mark of the Ninja in particular has replayability, less so for Deadlight but its a great ride at $10, and a must have at $4.

Both the Fable bundle and Arcade Style bundle sounds excellent for $5 AC. Another set of games to add to my STEAM collection I will never play.

I too am interested in trying out AOE 3 and just saw that the complete version is now only $18.99 on amazon which isn't too bad if you have prime and don't want to wait for the Microsoft deal. $9.99 would be much better but in-case the deal doesn't happen this seems to be a good price...

Steam had AOE3 for $9.99 throughout the Holiday sale. It may return to that price point for valentine day sale.

They have a V-Day sale...well now. I keep forgetting. The Winter sale was SO bad. Same games as before and same old prices too. The THQ deals were good but you hardly saw many other good ones. I give thumbs up when I appreciate someone pulling together good information to inform us slickdealers. If it's good info, I feel like people should have it hit their deal notifications... to notify them.

Think about it this way, what if you were thinking about buying some of these titles from other vendors for (potentially) higher prices... wouldn't you want to know about this deal being in the works, at least to keep an eye on it? I think TU for information is a good policy, but you are of course free to use your TUs for whatever you want.

As for rep (separate thing), I give rep when someone has posted something that I bought or a great deal that I would not have noticed were it not for their post. If another user has been extremely helpful with a comment, I may give rep to them as well, if it is "above and beyond" the value of a comment that I would normally expect.

I'm not sure this deal will happen. That Amazon rep was told "sounds good" by someone at Microsoft when a deal was pitched to him. He was probably just trying to get rid of the Amazon rep.

Obviously you don't understand the meaning of thumbs up either. I never mentioned anything about "rep" being able to replicate the deal. If you appreciate the OP posting this "deal", then go ahead a rep the guy (I don't have a single problem with that). It's when a whole bunch of people go around thumbing up deals when they're not even legitimate deals (under one of the conditions for thumbs up is the ability to replicate deals at the prices represented by the poster). It's especially gotten out of control lately on SD (I suspect that it's mostly newbs) thumbing up deals that don't really deserve it. I see it way too often on extreme YMMV B&M deals where only 3 people across the country are able to cash in on it. Scores of SDers come to the thread seeing dozens of thumbs up believing that it's a trustworthy posting so they rush out to the store only to waste their time and gas. I know that this is not the same scenario, but it still wastes people's time. People post deals in advance all the time, but they usually have the date and time of when it's going to be active and most importantly, the deal comes from an email newsletter or an inside source. This one sounds more like hearsay to me which is why I was asking where the OP heard about this. Don't get me wrong, I want this deal just as much as everyone else here (I have a handful of those $5 credits and want these titles), but the OP should've either posted this in deal talk or better yet just waited until the deal was active to post. If you're worried about "missing" this deal if it ever goes live, I seriously doubt that anyone will since these games at these prices will easily go front page.

To me this thread is the same as any that goes live and then falls through. I can recall one months ago for a TomTom Top Gear edition that went live and then fell through because of the pricing mistake. I purchased it and was refunded. There were pages upon pages of grumbling about how unfair it was. For me offers like this based on some reputable information are as relevant as the price mistakes that sometimes work and sometimes don't. That is what makes Slickdeals different than other sites is that deals are posted as information is known. I've picked up several deals that were obviously pricing mistakes and were corrected shortly after my order had gone through. Here's hoping this deal goes through. And yes, I enjoy a good argument as well. :)

I've lost all hope that this deal will happen during January to take advantage of the Editor's Choice coupons. Pretty ridiculous that Microsoft can't be bothered to respond to Tony's requests regarding whether or not Amazon can push through with the offer. It shouldn't take 8 days for them to confirm the pricing.

Having said that, even if the bundle takes place next month and can't be used with Editor's Choice coupons, it would still absolutely be an instant buy.

What is the EC Coupon? Where do you get one?

You had to have bought a digital download PC game sometime in Nov-December. You can't get one now unless you have a time machine as the coupon is tied to your account and can't be traded. The only way you could feasibly get a discount is to beg someone who has a code to buy it for you.

damn... I just bought AoE III on the steam sale for $10... coulda' saved $5 with the ECC.

In the middle of this thread there is a discussion on whether "possible but unconfirmed" deals should be posted in the "Hot Deals" section here on SD. There were a few people that thought since they were unable to have that deal at that moment in time that it qualified for a "Unable to replicate deal" thumbs down. I see their point, but I still think this was good information.

I was the main one commenting on all the thumbs up, but never gave it a thumbs down either. Like I mentioned before there's plenty of deals posted in advance, but this one didn't have a date, time, exactly what games it was going to have, or even a certainty of whether or not it will happen (the original post originally stated that there was an 80% chance that this deal would go down and wasn't sure if these would be on the editor's choice list). The fact that these games aren't on the editor's choice list yet has me a little worried and the dates listed might exclude some of these from eligibility for using the $5/off coupon (only good for the month of January). Is Amazon putting these all up at once or are they gonna do one a day for several days? If this deal does come to fruition then you bet your ass that I'll be back to thumb it up. Spread as many repps around as you like, but way too many SDers thumb up deals without even checking to see if the deal is valid these days. That's what my main beef was.

While a few of the others are fairly new releases, they're more or less indie titles that I would expect to see on something like the next humble bundle or indie royal. The microsoft bundle seems to be the one that everyone's after, but the OP clearly stated previously that it would not be included in the Editor's Choice list (that seemed like it was the only thing he was sure of in his original post). Whether that's changed or not, IDK. Many people seem to think so, but that was never officially mentioned. Maybe if you could see the original post you would feel differently, but there's too many variables at play for me to thumb up this deal (I will when and if it goes live). I'm sorry if I misunderstood your original post, but it seemed like you had it the other way around; I believe you had the individual games listed with their projected sale prices minus the $5 coupon. For example I think you had Fable III for something like $12.49-$5=$7.49. At any event, there's no point in arguing about it since your first post is cleaned up now with links and pricing to everything.

And as for as an official source, I don't take what a rep mentions on a forum as gospel and most importantly it still needed to be "approved" by microshaft at the time. You did and ran with it, but I didn't have too much of a problem with that aspect of it. It's just when everyone feels that they need to thumb up everything under the sun whether or not it's a valid deal with a solid chance of scoring (which it wasn't at the time). You even stated originally that there was an 80% chance that this deal would happen and wasn't sure if they would be included on the EC list or not. For instance, can you guaranty with certainty that all of these deals will go down as stated (especially the Fable III bundle)? I bet that you don't want to take that bet. It's all still a bit on the YMMV side of things if you ask me.

When I came back to this thread a week ago and saw a couple dozen thumbs up, I thought for sure that this deal went live. Checked the EC list and thought "Well, where the hell are they?". Looked at the individual games on Amazon, but they were still full price. I should've known that the newbs were at it again. It only wasted a couple minutes of my time, but it's just the principal of the whole thing. I mentioned this before, but it's the same sort of thing that sends droves of SDers out the door chasing fantasy (or should I say phantom) YMMV deals only because the deal was falsely misrepresented by way too many thumbs up. I don't know if I'm a minority on the issue or not but I know that I'm not alone because I received a few reps from others saying that they were in agreement.

The game is a really good deal. At first the keys would show but it started bugging out and iron brigade would not show.
I found that logging out and logging back in got my keys to show. Just wanted to share.

Fable 3 has 2 versions, the Steam DRM and the GFW DRM. both are at discounted price. as i'm not sure if the Steam version is live enabled (i.e., have achievements), i got the GFW version.

Are you sure you didn't just run out of coupons? The only way to know for certain is to email Amazon cs. The Promo credit tool on Amazon is off because it includes the value of all those f2p bundles. Guess the other way is to review your previous pcdd purchases from 11/16 to 12/31, assume each of those got $5, then review your purchases since 1/1 (specifically those that took $5 off).

Yeah, there should be something in the first post to explain the Editor's Choice coupon, so that instead of hundreds of posts asking "What's the EC coupon?" cluttering up the thread we instead get hundreds of posts asking "Does anyone have a spare EC coupon?" cluttering up the thread.

EC = Editor's Choice. You earned one $5 coupon for every downloadable game you purchased from mid-November through 12/31, good during January for any downloadable game on the Editor's Choice 2012 list.

I guess I ran out of coupons... I thought I had a ton but I guess not. Oh well I don't really need more games :)

Yes, I purchased Max Payne, the Microsoft bundle and age of Empires! :)

You just need to check your account to see if you still have the monetary value in vouchers left. I believe that some were confused with the Air Mech and other incentives thrown in. I keep all of my emails to sort out a plan of attack later.

The game also has two expansions included, so yes it is worth every penny!

Trust me, I am thankful that is an option!

You cannot. The coupons are tied to your Amazon account, and only people who bought games from Amazon during a limited period of time received the coupon. That period of time is over, so it is not possible any more to get an EC coupon.

If anyone has an Iron Brigade or Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet key they don't want, hit me up.

The only sure way is to count the number of EC coupons you have in your email or contacting Amazon customer support, but I'm not if they can even check how many you have with their system on their end.

Not yet, they were still waiting on keys for the DLC when it was last mentioned.

The best thing about this is each game has its own game code so I gave a few to my kids for their computer on their steam account.

Hard to consider age of empires 3 a hot deal at $5 consider I purchased it from Microsoft for like $0.15 (10 Microsoft points) about a year ago.

Did that include the "WarChiefs" and "Asian Dynasties" expansions, and are you required to run the GFWL client every time you want to play?

Looks like Max Payne 3 is $9.99 after the EC coupon too.

Being that most of us might not have a delorean, I would say that it is still a good deal for those of us that live in the present.

$1 per game. What an incredible deal, even though I'm really only interested in ITSP and Mark of Ninja. Either way, $2.50 for both is still an incredible deal.
