Sleep Better 2-Inch Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Twin XL $35 @Amazon

65535 Attachment(s)
I searched but could not find this deal.

http://www.amazon.com/Sleep-Bette...B000A8BU1K

This looks like a pretty good deal for a mattress topper that has 4.3 average rating of 425 ratings in amazon.

Although Twin XL is slightly longer than twin, it is about half the price (weird!!). If you need Twin size, buy this and cut off the extra length :)

Temporarily out of stock from Amazon. "Order now and we'll deliver when available"

A third party sells it for ~$42 after shipping, but then it isn't a deal.

jmor 01-17-2013 06:35 AM

Excellent deal! I've never heard of Twin XL though

Edit: I dont think we have a shrug emoticon

chbbsteve 01-17-2013 06:40 AM

This only has a density of 2.5 lbs/ft^3. A little low if you ask me, or sleeplikethedead dot com.

Twin XL is very common in college dorms. It's just a longer mattress for us tall folk

are you calling me short? :(

TheTalkingMule 01-17-2013 06:53 AM

Buy 2 and crazy glue into a queen sized?

So it seems like to me that the thing to do is buy a super firm mattress and top it with a new one of these every year or so when they wear out. Sound right?

No sounds very wrong. Don't cheap out on your mattress man, it's like... the most important thing to spend quality money on. You spend 1/3 of your life in that thing!

Just because he wants to buy a "super firm" mattress doesn't mean it's going to be cheap/low quality.

TheTalkingMule 01-17-2013 07:13 AM

Why should I pay a premium for something that is basically a block? I would think you could go "cheap" on a firm mattress so long as it stays firm for years.

ph7 01-17-2013 07:14 AM

Cut it short for a twin.

Good deal.

dealsifter 01-17-2013 07:48 AM

Tired of buying and lugging around bulky mattresses and boxsprings, seems so primitive. If only bed technology changed as fast as computers. Been using an air mattress for several months but looks like it started to leak. May have to pick this up since was looking for something in a twin xl anyways. Maybe I can just buy a large piece of basic foam at a furniture store and use this on it.

good quality memory foam should last a while unlike regular mattress which will go thru sagging and deform eventually. When you glue them , the center of the mattress of the glued one ( topper ) may not be as good as the actual center of the twin !

Three nice sized dog beds for $35? Yes, please.

Point me to a nice washable dog-sized cover to slip the cut foam into and I'm all over it.

mnsweeps 01-17-2013 08:23 AM

are mattress pads and topper the same thing?

no, a mattress pad protects the mattress from liquids, dirts and little bugs. a topper adds extra comfort to the mattress

Okay thanks.. My wife is tired of my self stimulating activities at night and want to make sure that any of my fluids don't damage our new memory form mattress.

On second thought.. I was wrong. I got pad and protector confused. As to your original question, the answer is yes. My apologies, you may resume your regular self stimulating activities

Your mattress is probably ok...your eyesight, on the other hand, may be in jeopardy.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good quality memory foam pad? I'd like to keep it below $200 for a queen. The brand in the original post is $100 for a queen, but it had low density. Thanks!

That's not economical at all. This one is $68, and a little better density.

weedrose 01-17-2013 09:05 AM

for comparison, Sam's Club online sells an Aerus Natural Memory Foam Topper (made in the US) which has a 3# density, which is excellent. I've bought 3 in the last year and a half and everyone raves about them who has slept in my guest beds and I bought one for my son who is on his own now and he said it's the best night's sleep he's had since he left home. I've only bought queen sizes as that's what my guest rooms have and I paid $54.88 each plus shipping ($7.64). I even have one on a sleeper sofa and that bed went from practically unusable to wonderful.

they do not carry the TwinXL though. hope I'm not thread crapping, but I came here to see if I could find a better topper for a better price than I paid and I see that the price I paid was great and the product is a higher density foam, so I thought I'd share with anyone else contemplating buying a mattress topper of a different size than what the OP is talking about.

http://www.samsclub.com/sams/aeru...prod863498 is the one I bought and it's wonderful! I bought one for my son's apartment and he loved it so much that I bought 2 more for my 2 guest bedrooms. Everyone who has slept on them said they are fantastic. Hope this helps! anyone can buy at Sam's for a 10% upcharge, or their basic membership is $40, I think, so you could practically pay for your membership with this one purchase.

globeadue 01-17-2013 09:26 AM

Possibly make 4-5 4inch pillows out of it? $5-8 bucks per pillow vs the $15+ for a single pillow elsewhere?

Maybe use a twin futon cover? possibly fold it in half?

$24 bucks from amazon w/prime

At that point though, your paying $60 ish for it and isn't that roughly about what you would pay at petsmart before coupons?

Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely check it out. How was the smell on these? I've bought two other ones and brought them home, and my wife couldn't handle the smell, even after it had aired out for a few days. Thanks

krazyshopper 01-17-2013 11:24 AM

Thx op. I just picked one up for my for sure uncomfortable dorm room bed in grad school. It came out to 40 something with. 10 shipping. I guess its not elugible for prime.

1/2 if you're good with the ladies!

Abyssul 01-17-2013 02:11 PM

Out of stock. You can still get it for $42 from a third party, but you can also get a similar topper at Sam's Club for $35.

easymonies 01-17-2013 06:33 PM

It is temporarily out of stock from Amazon. Still can order and they will deliver when available.

I think you may have gotten it from a third party seller (so added shipping) because amazon was out of stock.

Oops! Guess you purchased from another seller, not amazon. Look to the right for other sellers, and you will find amazon. The reason amazon was not the default seller was because it went out of stock with amazon temporarily. It is still possible to order through amazon but it will be a back order.

fymfaholes 01-18-2013 04:02 AM

Two twin xls basically make a king. They are the same length as a king bed and about half the width.

dell2012 01-18-2013 09:39 AM

Is this topper good enough for somone who is 250lbs or more?

sorry for the delayed reply. there is definitely an odor upon opening the carton it comes in. we laid the pads out flat on the living room floor when they arrived and left them there for a day or two (only because we weren't going to be using the living room during that time). I would lay them out for a few days in whatever room you will not be using for, say, 3 days... preferably with windows open if you live in an area you can do that... this time of year for us would be impossible as the temps are in the single digits right now. Beyond the first 3 days, I would say there is no smell at all. I'm very sensitive to odors of any kind and someone like me would not be able to sleep on this during that time... but after that, it's not an issue at all.

hope this helps.
