SALE25 is dead.

There's a deal going on right now where you get a free shaker bottle when you buy a boxed product (e.g. protein bars). Add this (http://www.gnc.com/product/index....Id=2542486) to your cart and you'll see the message stating as such.

slickfree 01-17-2013 06:42 AM

Nice, about to order some..

audiophool 01-17-2013 08:25 AM

Thanks OP, buy 1 get one half off also on the 3lb. containers of whey {edit: wheat based, not whey,my bad} Ultimate Nutrition Vanilla [gnc.com] or chocolate protein iso w/20G of protein per serving and 57 servings per container. Got 2 of them for $26.98 shipped or about only $4.50/lb. :rock:great deal!

Kevin71 01-17-2013 08:38 AM

Quest! Thanks OP! I'd rep but I need to spread apparently.

Keeperpoo 01-17-2013 08:44 AM

So I was looking at the Ultimate Nutrition proteins,.... they have a 100% whey that is Rum Raisin flavored?? :omg: The peach flavor may be good for mixing with water though. http://www.gnc.com/search/index.j...avor|Peach

wait for anyone suggest good thing in GNC

cnodadmo 01-17-2013 09:08 AM

I tried buying this http://www.gnc.com/product/index....ickid=cart which is supposed to be 50% off the second one but when I entered the coupon code the price on the second one jumped from $37.99 to $47.99. Anyone have the same issue with the 50% off not being 50% off anymore once the coupon is entered?

cod 01-17-2013 09:08 AM

Awesome deal on quest bars. Can't seem to find any cheap whey protein

Also same cnadadmo, it jumps to 47 for me too

I calculated the total discount and it comes out to be the same. So I guess no issues with the savings in terms of the 50% off jumping higher. Just weird how they would do that.

Just pointing out that the isolate you ordered is not at all a whey isolate. That is a protein made from Wheat, I'm not sure what the absorption rate of that is.

Addiaidan 01-17-2013 09:28 AM

Yes. When you calculate it on your own, the price comes out right for the BOGO50% even though they show a higher price on the cart. I ordered a few things couple days ago with only 20% off. And, shop discover has 15% rebate. My order was over $100 and this will save me at least $15. The site said I can just return items at their store within 30 days. Anyone has any experience returning items at GNC?

as a former gnc employee i will tell you that gnc has one of the loosest return policies ever. people could literally open a product, use 75% of it, and then bring it back to the store within 30 days and say it doesn't work. i'd suggest leaving some of the product in there. we had to turn some people away that were trying to return empty tubs. keep in mind though. i haven't worked there for a few years but if their policies haven't changed you should be good to go.

Keeperpoo 01-17-2013 09:40 AM

I read their return policy a few times already and do think I should be okay returning them within 30 days. I haven't received my package yet and I will not open them. I just want to re-order to take advantage of the additional discount since it will be close to $20 saving. Thanks.

Even with BOGO 50% off on certain proteins + SAVE25, it's still expensive than competitors. No wonder the Chinese company (Bright Food) walked away from acquiring GNC...

The two proteins with BOGO 50% off that I found on GNC was MET-Rx Ultramyosyn and and Cellucor COR-performance whey (they removed the BOGO 50% off on product description, but when I add two, I get the discount--this may be removed soon).

But even with BOGO deal + SAVE 25, bodybuilding.com had lower prices (bb.com always have 10% discount codes floating around). Of course, the shipping isn't free. :(

BB.com doesn't carry CytoSport Muscle Milk (Regular, Naturals and/or Light) - Strawberry Milkshake... other flavors are more expensive currently; even with a 10% discount.

I assume you are talking about the 1.65lb tub? The description says Strawberry Milkshake, however the picture stills says Strawberries N' Creme just as all the other varieties are flavored.

www.allstarhealth.com
Always cheap stuff and 5.95 flat rate shipping. 5lbs muscle milk is 42.89 vs 49.99 on GNC (hotbuy item so no additional discount). Only way GNC will ever be a good deal is if you can find some of the BOGO items and stack the 25% off discount. At that point you're probably barely beating most other sites 24/7 pricing.

Strawberries N' Creme is not an option? :P But you are right, the prices on those aren't better at BB.com.

But may I suggest that Muscle Milk isn't that great? They use cheap Chinese sourced vitamins and minerals in their protein complex that caused them to show higher levels of heavy metals and contaminants in that famous protein analysis.

Also, micellar casein is the better, undenatured form of casein. MM uses calcium and sodium caseinate which are the cheaper sources. If you like the profile of Muscle Milk (much like a meal replacement), I recommend Xtreme Formulations Ultra Peptide (51:49, casein:whey ratio) and the strawberry flavor tastes just like strawberry milkshake. Albeit, more expensive. :(

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you have said. I prefer Strawberry Milkshake, in any form. NOT with banana or creme or anything else... just strawberry milkshake. Currently allstarhealth's price does not even come close to what GNC is offering unless I'm just not seeing it.

Nope, Strawberries N' Creme is definitely NOT an option for me... taste like crap IMO. I'm not debating the quality of their products; I agree with you to an extent... the products tested were of a chocolate variety which we don't drink. Other flavors will not contain the contaminants that cocoa products contain. And most importantly, if the girlfriend won't drink it then it's worthless for me to buy for us. :)

I'm saying I filtered out all Strawberry flavors and only see one item called Strawberry Milkshake and that is the 1.65lb tub of Muscle Milk Light. If you click on the picture of the item, it still says Strawberries N' Creme so I was wondering if that's what you were talking about.

No it is not cheaper for this particular item. As I said the BOGO + 25% will probably be cheaper on GNC. This item qualifies for both so it's a good deal (assuming you won't purchase a better alternative). I clicked on a few items I was interested in and none of them applied for either so I was just posting up a link to a decent site.

Oh, yea the gf likes strawberry milkshake and that's the small tub she likes. Picture appears wrong but they usually are on these sites.

Even regular priced, it's still the best deal I can find on protein. 57 servings for 23 bucks (19 dollars on vitacost). Chocolate is the best.

That is Wheat protein. Best for vegans. Definitely not whey as the post you quoted mentioned. Only a good deal if you don't care about the type of protein.

bakerzdosen 01-17-2013 11:25 AM

Man, too bad. Everything I wanted is a "hot buy" and doesn't qualify.

Oh well, back to fitrx or hoping for another coupon at bodybuilding.com.

gordgeck 01-17-2013 11:26 AM

Not bad, buy with Discover and get another 15% cashback. That makes 6# of whey just under $24 shipped to my door.

greggshiu 01-17-2013 11:28 AM

Anyone else having problems with this coupon on non-supplement items? For instance, I'd like to buy the Century Bob XL dummy with stand. It's $399.99 but the coupon says not applicable however won't say why.

*Edit - never mind, there's a popup now. Not exactly all-encompassing coupon

"Offer does not combine with any other promotions. Offer does not combine with hot buy, Deal of the day and other select items. Exclusions will apply."

Be sure to save the packing slip. I tried to return the 3x fish oil and had my email, invoice, etc, but for some reason they needed the packing slip. Luckily the store mngr took the same supplement and bought them off me. He told me it was significantly cheaper than what he paid with his store discount.

xSeongminx 01-17-2013 11:44 AM

GNC is a joke. The coupon only applies to regular priced items which means that you're paying more after the coupon than what you'd pay from bodybuilding.com.

Quest bars $18.84 + free shaker cup. A little better deal for me than the 30% Bodybuilding.com deal last week. I eat way too many of these. http://www.gnc.com/search/index.j...Quest+Bars

even with the 25% discount the quest bars are over 2x more expensive than pure protein bars...are they really that good? never tried them ....

but pure protein bars with about 190 calories/bar and 20grams of whey protein costs about $0.75 while the quest bars are like $1.5 not sure if they are really worth paying more than twice....

for me, Yes they are that much better. I like the lemon flavor. Even though they are high in prebiotic fiber, They don't cause gas like the Pure Protein does for me. Fairly clean and simple for a processed food/protein bar.

i've never paid more than $8.35 for these multis because they usually have the promo, *3 for $25* every so often. so buying (3) 90ct multis is cheaper when all things are equal.

been a gold card member for 4 years.

the only protein bars i would recommend is Supreme Protein, Dymatize and Eat Smart.

all three of those do not have the typical dry protein bar texture to them and they all taste like a regular candy bar - especially the ES one! it's like a chocolate covered rice krispie!

i would only buy the GNC pro performance branded ones when i'm feeling cheap and i wanted to save as much money as i can with the BOGO + gold card week and for practical reasons while not thinking too much about the taste. i mean they dont taste bad, but when you've had the three brands i mentioned, it's hard to go back.

$1.50 for 20g of protein? Sheesh...

You can get a good powder for under 50 cents per 20g. That's quite a premium to have it in a bar form.

I have plenty of Casein and whey protein as seen in my 6 minute workout here to top 10 Synyster Gates solos, just livestreamed a few minutes ago,http://youtu.be/JNDUHS4Y0PY
but I do stand corrected on that and edited my mistake on that comment about it being whey based. It may be ideal for vegans as it says, but still not a bad deal for non-vegans such as myself at $4.50/lb, I'm not all into the bro-science of absorption rates and all of that, I just take the !0/lb. Casein before bedtime, I usually just eat a heaping scoop right out of the jar without even bothering to mix it.:D

thank you! i do agree with you on the taste, my pure protein bars taste really dry and crappy to be honest, and at 190 calories, they are nothing but a quick snack, the eat smart bars are at 330 calories, with a small glass of milk or a fruit+some water, they are a perfect meal replacement! they do have about 15grams of sugar+5grams of sugar alcohol, i guess i can live with that..... :O

GNC Linda: Ok, I see what is happening. I do apologize John, but that promo will not apply to BOGO items or HOT BUYS or Deal of the Day, those items are excluded from that promo. GNC only allows one promo per order.

John: Promo is "SiteWide" which in my opinion means everything like a clearance. VERY MISLEADING.

You can get a good powder for under 50 cents per 20g. That's quite a premium to have it in a bar form.

Yes, they are definitely pricey, but I just like 'em. You can't really compare them to powder unless you only eat to fuel your body. I eat because I like food, probably a little too much. I drink a whey iso shake after workouts, but I like to have sweet yummy food to chew other times. Since I am too fat to eat candy every day, I can eat one of these instead. They are worth the extra $1 each to me to have a clean protein snack that tastes good to me. ;)

FYI If you buy FRS (4 pack), for example, and you want to order x5 you have to pay $25 for shipping. What a great deal

There are some new studies regarding Whey protein and lower of blood pressure studies that are very interesting...including studies of improving the immune system.

Not all protein is for body builders.....read below

Blood Pressure
To reduce the risks of stroke and heart disease, some researchers are focusing on effective ways to safely lower elevated blood pressure in at-risk populations. Beverages supplemented by whey-based protein can significantly reduce elevated blood pressure, reducing the risk of stroke and heart disease. Susan Fluegel, from Washington State University (Washington, USA), and colleagues reported that daily doses of commonly available whey yield a greater than six-point reduction in the average blood pressure of men and women with elevated systolic and diastolic blood pressures. As well, the whey-supplemented beverage also significantly decreased total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations. The team concludes that: “Whey protein beverages may be useful for the dietary treatment of prehypertension and/or stage 1 hypertension.”

Cancer
One hundred-percent whey protein is rich in the potent antioxidant glutathione. Glutathione shields the DNA of your cells from damage caused from free radicals. Damaged DNA can lead to the formation of cancerous cells. Regularly consuming whey protein can reduce the risk of certain cancers, reports the National Dairy Council. In research published in the November 2004 "Alternative Medicine Review," test tube and animal studies links between whey protein and reduced cancer activity have been promising. However, large-scale human studies looking into this link have yet to take place.

Immunity
Whey protein is abundant in unique compounds such as lactoferrin and immunogloblins that boost the activity of the immune system. Consuming whey protein can make your body more resistant to bacteria and viruses by making your body's white blood cells more effective. Also, lactoferrin directly inhibits the growth and proliferation of bacteria such as E. coli.

Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a serious chronic disease that results from low bone mass. Consuming calcium rich dairy products like whey protein can reduce your risk of developing osteoporosis. Whey protein trumps other dairy products due to the presence of a special protein known as MBP. MBP activates cells known as osteoblasts that are responsible for bone building.

It's really funny you mention that. Two summer's ago I was originally talked into buying overpriced whey from them and their pre workout. After I went home I realized I spent too much and came back a week later. I took a few scoops out and tried returning it. There was a different cashier there and she asked if I really used a 1/3 of the tub in a week. Realistically I could have, nbd. But I had to convince her to return it. She had accused me of what apparently many do that I didn't think of. Taking portions of the product out and returning it for full price. I felt bad about doing it but its not like it was worth it anyway. Fark GNC anyway, constant price inaccuracies and schemes to lure thousands of people to get their information and then cancel orders. Jack up their prices and so forth. Whatever you know?

Whey has been looked at plenty of times and there are a number of proposed benefits. This is nothing new. Similar benefits can be derived from a healthy, well balanced diet. It is a quality food source among many others.

that's why you don't return it right away. take about 50%-75% out and then wait until after 21 days and return it. tell them that you were dissatisfied with the product and they will return it for you. however, they do keep track of how many times you do this so try not to do it too often.

News Flash. Getting "big" isn't healthy. And, just because you watch your 120 gram a day protein intake, etc, etc, doesn't make you smart.

I didn't take it that way at all. You were stating the facts. And, sometimes, it takes 50-75% of the product to determine if it's "working" anyway.

no, i haven't. even when working there i bought my supplements online because everything is so overpriced. the only time it was a decent deal for me to shop at gnc is when i could get some of the stuff that is about to expire in addition to the 30% employee discount. in response to whether or not you can do it at different gncs you can't. whenever you return a product at gnc they ask for your id. they keep track of it in their system which can be accessed at any store.

Please tell me what is wrong with people getting "bigger" and stronger. I don't even know what the 120 gram a day intake is even referring to...

You are an alarmist. None of the things you brought up about milk have ever been shown to have any negative effect on humans. You are just touting nonsense you read in some article by yet another uninformed alarmist.

that was in response to the other guy who thought i was trying to promote stealing. Soy if not properly fermented carries more estrogen like properties. Good for women....not good for men.

In regards to the well balance diet....yes...Whey is part of that. Better to get the protein from that versus eating beef with all that fat and other issues.

I eat Green Shakes, Protein shakes, Oatmeal, Nuts.

Eating a whole salad with celery, kale, romaine, tomatoes, onions...that takes time. I stick it in my Ninja blender....and in a few seconds I can shove down my mouth.

Unless its a steak or chicken kabobs or pizza, the rest of the green health stuff I just cram down my mouth.

No it's not. Soy raises your risk for breast cancer by mimicking estrogen. So, it's not good for women or men. It can interfere with the production of thyroid hormones, specifically when eaten uncooked. Also, soy protein foods are rich in purines, which could precipitate gout. Finally soy is rich in trypsin inhibitors. Trypsin is a digestive enzyme we need to properly digest protein. Without enough trypsin, you’ll experience many digestive problems including stomach cramps, diarrhea, and bleeding. You’ll also be leaving yourself open to future problems with your pancreas.

Thousands of studies link soy to malnutrition, digestive distress, immune system breakdown, thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, reproductive disorders and infertility -- even cancer and heart disease.

Soybean crops are also heavily sprayed with chemical herbicides, such glyphosate, which a French team of researchers have found to be carcinogenic.

Any other useless tidbits of information Dr. JimmytheGreek?

GNC is terrible. I ordered protein bars that came w/ a free shaker. A few days after I ordered, they canceled my protein bar part of the order but sent me the free shaker and charged me the full ~$4 shipping for it.

I called them up and they said they can't do anything about it b/c the order already shipped. The guy told me I should be able to return it at a B&M GNC, but I don't know if they'll refund the shipping charges, to to mention I'd have to take the trouble to go to the store. I'll try to dispute it w/ my CC company.
