I gave the link to my supervisor, and they told him that they would only price match for offers from AT&T - meaning an offer from Wal-Mart, Best Buy, or AT&T. :(
I've reviewed your Best Price Guarantee request. However, I'm unable to approve your request because the price for device you identified on Amazon Wireless requires a different service provider than the service provider you currently have. In order to get the device on Amazon Wireless for a lower price you'd be required to have an account through Sprint. The full Terms and Conditions of our AmazonWireless Best Price Guarantee can be found here: http://wireless.amazon.com/help/200901850/ We hope to see you again soon. Best regards, Tara Z. http://www.amazonwireless.com |
good find... what I did was I took a copy of the amazon web page to best buy and they priced match, no problems and no hassle,, I bought two of them. one for me and one for the wifey
|
Please read the post. Ask AT&T to price match not Amazon. :)

you find a lower price on an eligible website for the same product with the same service plan within 14 days after we ship your device, let us know and we'll credit your original payment method for the difference. Quote:

I wonder if Amazon Wireless would price match for AT&T
|
Yep, no go with existing Sprint customers looking to upgrade. Dammit, that would have been a good deal for those who don't mind a huge phone.
|
How's the service with Sprint? After nine years with T-mobile, I've decided to try something different. I was going to go with Verizon, but I don't know. Is there much difference between AT&T and Sprint? I would appreciate some opinions of those in the Austin area in regards to dropped calls and service quality.
|
Tried this with two online chat at ATT. NO GO. I want to switch to AT&T, I think.
@notobsessed Sprint's data is horrible. I am in the Raleigh area, and it's just god awful excuse of a phone company. They are stealing my money, as far as I am concerned. Check out http://s4gru.com and sensorly.com for more info. Stay away from sprint, their network is horrible (I know, I know, it's going to get better..say the sprint supporters) |
Chatting with ATT rep praying it works. Just ordered my Note 2 last night and it got shipped today.

I spent 200 on my Note 2, seriously awesome phone. If anyone is on the fence due to the size, it's big but not that big. I can still do things one handed without problems. My only gripe is people going "woah that is a big phone" every time I pull it out to check a message or something.
Also after having a 4Glte phone for the first time I found out that att's unlimited plan is actually limited, really rubs me the wrong way! |

Galaxy S4 will come out on Q1 with a 5" screen and full HD display. I'd suggest you want for that. Galaxy Note 3 will be out Q3 of this year with 6.3" screen and same processor as the S4. Can't Wait!

had my upgrade waiting for a month now and still no verizon deal! sons of fishes!@

" I'm sorry but we don't honor third party pricing as their terms vary from our terms. When you purchase directly from AT&T, you get the benefits of direct service without the added terms and conditions that many third party retailers impose. For example third party companies may make you sign into a agreement that you must keep your plan for the duration of the contract, not allow you to add insurance if your phone qualifies etc."

I did that last time - wish I never went back to crappy sprint though - looks like straight talk or page plus offer better service and less 4 too. Oh but sprint offers unlimited dial up - I mean data |
Can someone answer this? If I buy this phone with Sprint right now can I later use this phone with Verizon? TIA
|
I got the Note II for 139 last month (upgrade). I don't think they'll be offering it for $99.
|
Charles D.: I'm so sorry but AT&T does not match the price of the other retail store.
I don't have the time to keep going back at them, but thanks for the heads up OP. |

you would be surprised what they will do to keep a customer. when they say no to a price match, say ok plz send me to customer retention plz. and that you want the deal or your off to a diff service provider. my best negotiation was a new phone and 25% off my bill for 1 year. ymmv. but never hurts to say i been here x years it is time you gave me something back to me. |

Tried web chat with AT&T twice, I wanted 4 phones and my contract had ended months back but they didn't care one bit.
|
Roll-out updates [s4gru.com] My 3G speeds were so bad I was at a point where I was going to pay the ETF to leave Sprint, but they have gotten much better here in Houston LTE wise, and they are only half done. I get pretty constant LTE coverage and I average around 3-5mb download speeds and 1mb upload speeds at around 105 dbm (really weak 4g signal). Rocking the EVO LTE doesn't help much in signal problems either but the S3 and note 2 don't suffer from that. 3G speeds are still bad, but they say all that will be upgraded soon.
I would go and try to get this price matched for an upgrade at a best buy, have the amazon page loaded on your phone and if they are careless they might not notice the "new line only" requirement. Others have succeeded before... |

I called 611 and the customer support rep price matched for $99.99 without any question. Ordered 2 phones ( upgrade). But there is still an activation fee of $36 for each phone. She said, she cannot waive this activation fee. Note, i hve been with att for 10 yrs. she mentioned that, she does price match, becos of the valued customer.

Got AT&T Upgrade
Called 611 and asked the representative to price match for an upgrade on my wife's line. At first, she sounded like there was nothing she could do, but after I said I had been a longtime customer, she was eventually able to get me the price match after "speaking with her supervisor". Being in California, however, I was forced to pay $50 in taxes!
I'm also an AT&T premier (business) customer so I got the activation waived and free shipping!! |

How is anything even a deal when it comes with a 2 year contract. This is a joke. No contract is taking over... America will now catch up with the rest of the world. Anyone buying this deal... i'll sell you a 1 carat diamond for free as long as you agree to pay me to polish it for 2 years. for the low cost of 1k a month. Any takers?

at&t lte will get you 30mbps easy in Dallas. I live way north of Dallas and I get about 15mpbs. I'm so far out of town that the only other way to get internet is by satellite.
|
Success! Got the note II for $99 for me and the Galaxy Express (just below the S3 in specs) for $29 for the DW who doesn't care about having a high-end smartphone.
Webchat rep had me call AT&T customer care and they were able to PM over the phone. Still had to pay $36 upgrade fee per line. Debating whether to try and get that removed in the next few days |

No go with ATT 611 , they said that they dont do price match over the phone.
What are you guys saying "that you want to pricematch a sprint offer you saw at amazon wireless" ? |
I asked if ATT could price match Sprint's 99.99, and the guy said "We have the phone for 399.99, but I can give it you for 299".. Ha what a douche bag.
|
Quote:
Well that was just a lie.. They do price matching over the phone all the time. As to what to say, I said Sprint's Amazon.com price of 99 and the guy kind of went around the question and said he'd do 299 for me. Edit Called 3 times, talked to a floor manager, and he stated that if anyone price matches the phone for 99 through another carrier besides ATT, they would lose their jobs. So wtf. |
Called AT&T 611 for 45 minutes
They price matched!!!!!! Total is $119.19 Should receive it Wednesday. Can't wait. |

for those who were able to do pricematch att, how did you guys convince the rep to do it? I called & chatted and it was a no go. :(:(
|
You need to check the sensorly map or app before trying to get on board with Sprint. In some area, LTE coverage is good and in those area, when you stray out of LTE, 3G is decent since the availibility of LTE nearby helps to lessen 3G traffic. In area without LTE, Sprint 3G is pretty poor. In St Petersburg, FL, LTE is almost fully built out and getting a lot better the last 30 days. Looks like the Tampa area is starting to get LTE but it seems much slower progress than this side of the bay.
In area where you do get LTE IN ST PETERSBURG, FL, it varies from 2Mbps-32Mbps depending on how strong the LTE signal is. |
Quote:
I didn't convince him. I just say amazon sprint is offering Note II for 99.99, can you match? He said it is $399 in their system, blah blah. Then he went to his supervisor and got approved. Most time he is sighing and working on the computer. |

reps are so autonomous, she kept saying "yes that is an offer from sprint and we do not price match over the phone" over and over after I told her other att customers have been getting the price match over the phone. Then I told her okay I'll just try another rep.
|
chatted with cancellation, they talked to customercare, cancellation gave $20 for next 3 months and cc gave the phone for $222 (including shipping taxes) activation is waived....

Did they charge you fedex shipping? they gave me 199 price, came out to 222 - 60 (20 credited for 3 months) = $162 ....even though I'm eligible for an upgrade on 30th June :)? |
This really sucks, tried a few times lowest they will go for being "loyal" is $199. Even after explaining how other att customers were being awarded the price match they still blah blah blahed me.
|
Anyone had any success at getting this price with a T-mobile upgrade?
|
I was eligible for ATT upgrade and when they offered it to me for $199 I just said why would I agree to pay more when Sprint is offering for less? So he "let me go check something" --> got transferred to big guy who ran the show and worked it out for me.
Bottom line: Persistence will give you the deal |

I was able to get Best Buy to price match for an AT&T upgrade.
I showed the receipt posted in the beginning, where AT&T gave it for $99 and no questions asked after that. :D |
Ok took a while but after 6 calls I was finally able to get them to price match 2 phones for $99 each. So persistence is the key apparently. Although I was on the line for 30+ minutes on hold a lot waiting for the rep to finish up the orders. Looking at my CC account I was charged $116 (tax+shipping?) for each phone, so I guess they waived the activation fee even though he said he couldn't.

"NO! we dont price match but go ahead and purchase from Amazon". |
Got the Note II as an upgrade with AT&T for 175.00 and they waived activation fee and free next day delivery. I was super persistent and this was the best deal I was able to muster.
FWIW, I tried getting PM at Best Buy but they would only do it for Sprint, not AT&T. (Sprint does not have LTE coverage in Austin Area so not a good move for me) |
I told them I was a long time customer and wanted to upgrade to a note 2... but the problem is, sprint has it for 99, but att for 300. $200 is a far way off. She said they don't pricematch, I said why would I pay you 300 when I can get it for a third of that from another carrier? Is there anything you can do for me.. I've been a customer for years. She put me on hold and came out with 175 for the phone. I thanked her for her work, but that still wasn't sprints price. She said that was all she could do. I said why would I pay 200ish per phone when I could walk into sprint and get the same phone for 99.. and get my wife one for 99, and get my kids ones for 99... and go on their share everything plan (not sure that's even theirs). That doesn't make sense to me. Got put on hold and they sold me the phone for 299, and credited against my bill 200. plus free priority shipping, plus call back for waived activation fees. Took about 30-40 minutes on the phone. On hold I commented to a coworker - 'sprint has good service - a friend has it and they have coverage right up into the hunting cabin - att doesn't cover at all out there - I can switch, just hate moving all my numbers over there" I got the discount.
|
I can also confirm that this works. I wasn't eligible for an upgrade and they gave me the 199 price with free shipping and waived upgrade. Call the retention department: 18003310500 and dial 3 twice to get to the correct place. Be blunt! Tell them that Sprint has the $99 deal and you are considering making the switch to sprint.

this was the easiest call I have made till date to ATT. Thanks OP..hope this helps everyone....FYI...I will be eligible for upgrade in feb...good luck...
|
Man, it seems as though many people like this phone! I've been looking forward to this phone for a long time. All I remember reading before it came out and soon after it was released with reviews of the phone was that it was too big and that SHOULD be a "negative/con" for the phone... Seeing as to how many people I've talked to who have it, read on 'unbiased' review sites (*ahem* non iphone lovers), and here, it seems as though this phone is just as I hoped it would be! I'm with T-mobile and tried to get them to give me an upgrade today but it was a no-go. Especially since I'm 2 months away from ending my contract so there's no pull for me there. I'm already at my upgrade point but T-mobile won't match it. All they'll offer me is ~$217, they say the best they can do for me, so I told them I'll wait and perhaps switch to Sprint. Hope I can find a deal by then.

This was for upgrading my wife's line, but I will be using the phone. |
Nice price. I paid $300 in November through at&t. I had just signed up in February so this was a one time early upgrade they offered me because of the problems I was having with my phone.
Last week my AT&T Note 2 broke when it fell off the arm of my recliner and hit the sliding glass door vinyl frame. I had an Otterbox Defender case also. The screen didn't break but whatever glass screen is underneath did. It should have never broken. These things can be fragile so just keep in mind. I paid $710 for a new one that night, at the store, and filed a claim for insurance and got another new one for $200. Insurance was jerking me around so I didn't expect to get my phone replacement anytime soon. That is why I paid full boat. |
Quote:
|
Guys, please. The online chat service on AT&T's site CANNOT change the prices you see. We simply don't have access to the system to do that. Quit chatting in asking if we can change it. However much we'd like to give you $200 off a phone, we just can't. All it does is become frustrating for you and us if you persist in trying to get us to do something we can't.
(This is the chat service that pops up while you're just browsing the site). |
I have tried chatting and calling a few times and going to Best Buy (for two lines on a new contract), nothing. I'm giving up. I'm glad some of you were able to get it.

I spoke with the att sales hotline (customer care) and they would only lower it to 199 with waived activation and shipping (I went ahead and bought it at this price, as they were not going to budge). I immediately called back to the cancellation line and asked why others were getting this discount but not me, and after about 20 minutes they gave me a 35$ credit for the next 3 months. So technically I got the phone for $94.99 before taxes, with free shipping and activation! Thanks! |

IMO Note 2 is the best smart phone on the market for me (cause iPhone isn't on TMobile yet). I was looking at S3 Galaxy but there's so many problems with the phone bricking, problems running apps, incompatibility with standard HDMI out to TV plug, etc. S3 just feels like it was rushed to market. Like they cut corners. Note 2 feels like they took their time to develop it and make sure everything was good. It even looks better style wise IMO. I haven't heard nearly the negative publicity about Note 2 that I have about S3 Galaxy. Quote:
I don't know if it pertains to data or not. For me, I was using a Virgin Mobile Prepaid phone which piggy backed off the Sprint network. That's how I got familiar with their coverage in my area (this was years ago). I moved from Sprint to TMobile and couldn't be happier. I know I have very low prices and good service with TMobile. If you want smartphone, TMobile is the cheapest for data. If you are just a cheap bastard and money is the end all be-all, Sprint is your choice. The reason is because, and you can check the forums here at Slickdeals, there are SERO plans and others that people can get with that allow you to get insanely low prices for your service. The secret is, you call Sprint and tell them what you want. If they don't give it to you, you hang up and try another person. Do this over and over until you get what you want. TMobile plays this game more now, but it's not out of control like Sprint. Bear in mind, if you are buying a smartphone they may treat you differently. I could probably save $10/mo by going with Sprint, but you lose so many intangibles it's not worth it to me. I'd be curious why you would consider leaving TMobile. I think they are awesome. You lose so much flexibility by going with Sprint. First off, you can't change phones without calling customer service and getting the service transferred over to your new phone. And there's usually a fee to transfer to your new phone. With TMobile just swap out the sim card from one phone to the other and you're done. By going with TMobile you have increased flexibility of being able to run pretty much any phone out there and using it wherever you want, including overseas. You don't have the same flexibility with Sprint. I used to have a Sony dumb phone. I signed up for the $5/mo unlimited data plan on TMobile because I was a loyal customer. Then I promptly bought a Nexus One smartphone and swapped out the sim card. I was loving it! |
Just got off the phone with At&t. After calling 10-15 times over a course of 2 days, I was finally able to find a rep to get it done. Told them that I wanted to see if I can get the same price that sprint was offering to their customers. Was first told that it was impossible but he'd ask anyway. Was on hold for about 20 mins and then we were all good to go!
Kind of dumb to say that its impossible but then turn around and say its all good. Upgraded all 5 of my lines on a family plan for $99 / waived activation and overnight free. :woot: |
After many calls and chat sessions, I was finally able to get the phone for my dad
The last salesperson was very polite and nice. She seemed like she already knew this deal going on. I asked that different provider is having a sale, and she said, so what price Sprint is offering? Went back and forth with her manager and after about 20 minutes she had the phone ordered Thanks op! |

Got a price match for ATT.
First I called Amazon wireless': They said..They don't price match for different companies. Then I called ATT's 611 number...The person said he's never heard of a price match through the phone in his entire career and that was a no go. Then I called the 800 number the person saw the notes of the last person and said that they don't do price matches at all..Then he looked up my status of how many years I've been with them..He said since I've been a loyal customer he'll try to get me the price. He spoke to his supervisor and said he could get it for me. The total was about $170 (Tax in Califorina & Free shipping) |

How is Sprint service in general in a big city like Chicago? I dont see the point in staying with T-mobile if sprint is practically giving away phones for free (Galaxy S3)

Noob question. So I'm currently using AT&T. My 2 year contract ran out 2 months ago so I'm eligible to go anywhere.
Can I do the following together: 1. Bring the screenshot to Bestbuy, ask them to match for AT&T 2. Use this $50 off $100 coupon from this thread http://slickdeals.net/f/5810572-B...d-Required (I'll probably have to get a $1 filler), 3. Use $20 rewardzone certificate? |

I got this deal through the customer careline:
Something like 110$ real decent if you consider ATT&T has given no grounds on this price save for black friday |

The nice rep also said All activation fees are automatically waved in her department. 1-2 day shipping was also credited back. I Did mention the Sprint price and my concerns with ATT matching at the beginning of the call but made no threats ect. ATT order email just arrived And I also see the Credits online at ATT. I'll check on shipping status later today. Good Luck! |

The rep I spoke to gave me 2-day air for free without asking but did mention charging activation fees. |
Ugh....so frustrating!! I just talked to three different agents. All of them told me no. One even said that this is fake and that if people are saying they are getting it for this price then they are lying. I guess I give up and just stick with the old phone until this comes down in price. I have called and chatted more times than I can count. I'm happy for the people that have been able to get it for this price.

Same question. 611 or the 800 number? Did you get her name / extension by chance? Thanks!

I went to a Best Buy with a print out of the $100 Amazon Wireless Note2 deal and got denied. The rep said they would only price match if it's an exact product & carrier match.
I called AT&T and spoke to the a customer service rep and the lowest they can go was $299! I even threaten to leave since my contract ends in February and his repsonse was "if that's what you feel you need to do." Lame wireless service equats to their lame customer service! I'm tempted to get the iPhone 5 since it's on sale at Best Buy for $149 in stock. I went to a Best Buy with a print out of the $100 Amazon Wireless Note2 deal and got denied. Quote from desolved "I can also confirm that this works. " |

4 begging calls, 3 threatening ones, and 4 sessions of live chat AND STILL 300$. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
fyi- I have grandfathered unlimited so are they just telling me to gtfo because I mentioned in 3 calls that I was gonna leave ATT for Sprint and they said "I would be glad to assist you with that" |

:lmao:, I guess it is because they have been threatened too many times and the fact is no one really did so at all..... |
