I gave the link to my supervisor, and they told him that they would only price match for offers from AT&T - meaning an offer from Wal-Mart, Best Buy, or AT&T. :(

I've reviewed your Best Price Guarantee request. However, I'm unable to approve your request because the price for device you identified on Amazon Wireless requires a different service provider than the service provider you currently have. In order to get the device on Amazon Wireless for a lower price you'd be required to have an account through Sprint.
The full Terms and Conditions of our AmazonWireless Best Price Guarantee can be found here:

We hope to see you again soon.

good find... what I did was I took a copy of the amazon web page to best buy and they priced match, no problems and no hassle,, I bought two of them. one for me and one for the wifey

lppgian 01-18-2013 07:01 AM

Please read the post. Ask AT&T to price match not Amazon. :)

I bought this from amazon wireless three days ago (sprint upgrade).
Do you think I can get a credit somehow?
Thanks

you find a lower price on an eligible website for the same product with the same service plan within 14 days after we ship your device, let us know and we'll credit your original payment method for the difference.

My supervisor tried chatting with AT&T. The first rep, Rebecca Thompson, looked and saw the $249 price, so she wouldn't match the $99. The second rep, Jose, said they do not price match and to call the toll free number. My supervisor then called the toll free number and spoke to Tara, who said AT&T does not price match.

My supervisor will print out your receipt, plus the Amazon page and go to Best Buy. I hope it works for him.

Print out the page showing $99, take it to best buy and try to price match. More often then not it works. If it doesn't, try another best buy or go back later when there is a different rep working.

IndyStreetRacer 01-18-2013 08:24 AM

I wonder if Amazon Wireless would price match for AT&T

mick_shrimpton 01-18-2013 08:32 AM

Yep, no go with existing Sprint customers looking to upgrade. Dammit, that would have been a good deal for those who don't mind a huge phone.

notObsessed 01-18-2013 08:55 AM

How's the service with Sprint? After nine years with T-mobile, I've decided to try something different. I was going to go with Verizon, but I don't know. Is there much difference between AT&T and Sprint? I would appreciate some opinions of those in the Austin area in regards to dropped calls and service quality.

woodsdog 01-18-2013 09:00 AM

Tried this with two online chat at ATT. NO GO. I want to switch to AT&T, I think.

@notobsessed Sprint's data is horrible. I am in the Raleigh area, and it's just god awful excuse of a phone company. They are stealing my money, as far as I am concerned. Check out http://s4gru.com and sensorly.com for more info. Stay away from sprint, their network is horrible (I know, I know, it's going to get better..say the sprint supporters)

New customers only? Good thing they're more important than loyal existing customers...

Crinklypaper 01-18-2013 10:29 AM

I spent 200 on my Note 2, seriously awesome phone. If anyone is on the fence due to the size, it's big but not that big. I can still do things one handed without problems. My only gripe is people going "woah that is a big phone" every time I pull it out to check a message or something.

Also after having a 4Glte phone for the first time I found out that att's unlimited plan is actually limited, really rubs me the wrong way!

I paid 300$ last night and 99$ would be a sweet deal. The size is perfect for me.

It mostly sucks. Very spotty even on the outskirts of large urban areas such as Dallas/Ft. Worth. Their 4g wimax and lte services are good when you can get them, but data is pretty slow and spotty on their 3g network.

ronnyjosh 01-18-2013 11:20 AM

Galaxy S4 will come out on Q1 with a 5" screen and full HD display. I'd suggest you want for that. Galaxy Note 3 will be out Q3 of this year with 6.3" screen and same processor as the S4. Can't Wait!

" I'm sorry but we don't honor third party pricing as their terms vary from our terms. When you purchase directly from AT&T, you get the benefits of direct service without the added terms and conditions that many third party retailers impose. For example third party companies may make you sign into a agreement that you must keep your plan for the duration of the contract, not allow you to add insurance if your phone qualifies etc."

I know of 1 way to do that, kinda pain. Port out to a prepaid plan like page plus for $12 a month then sign up for a new account.
I did that last time - wish I never went back to crappy sprint though - looks like straight talk or page plus offer better service and less 4 too.
Oh but sprint offers unlimited dial up - I mean data

hoodahada 01-18-2013 02:13 PM

Can someone answer this? If I buy this phone with Sprint right now can I later use this phone with Verizon? TIA

idongivadamn 01-18-2013 02:30 PM

I got the Note II for 139 last month (upgrade). I don't think they'll be offering it for $99.

kidvr6 01-18-2013 02:49 PM

Charles D.: I'm so sorry but AT&T does not match the price of the other retail store.

I don't have the time to keep going back at them, but thanks for the heads up OP.

Sprint's 3g in Houston, TX is horribly slow, the slowest I have seen is 100Kb and the fastest is 500Kb. 4g LTE is only at 45% across the city and they launched it during the summer of 2012. They can say they launched LTE in a city as long as they have hit 20% of their customer base in the city. With Houston only at 45% I would be surprised if any other city is around 45% as well. In PC World's review last summer they had the slowest internet speeds across the nation and it is because they have so many MVNO companies using their network. They got hit with the stupid stick when it came to Windows Phone 8 and they are in love with Android. They do have the second cheapest rates compared to everyone else and have truly unlimited data. T-Mobile is the only one cheaper but their plans are only unlimited on the 4g band, HSPA+, which is in the same boat as Sprint's 4g LTE. I have been using AT&T for 4 days and so far I am not impressed. I hope you understand that even though I have all these problems with Sprint I still think AT&T is worse after 4 days of usage. I am most likely going back to Sprint.

they are not in the busyness of giving you a break. but
you would be surprised what they will do to keep a customer. when they say no to a price match, say ok plz send me to customer retention plz. and that you want the deal or your off to a diff service provider. my best negotiation was a new phone and 25% off my bill for 1 year. ymmv. but never hurts to say i been here x years it is time you gave me something back to me.

That doesnt always work. I wanted a $50 phone for free and they told me no. So i told them i was going to verizon and they said "Ok, is there anything else i can do for you." I said "Uh, no". "Thank you for choosing sprint". What a bitch!!

Roll-out updates [s4gru.com] My 3G speeds were so bad I was at a point where I was going to pay the ETF to leave Sprint, but they have gotten much better here in Houston LTE wise, and they are only half done. I get pretty constant LTE coverage and I average around 3-5mb download speeds and 1mb upload speeds at around 105 dbm (really weak 4g signal). Rocking the EVO LTE doesn't help much in signal problems either but the S3 and note 2 don't suffer from that. 3G speeds are still bad, but they say all that will be upgraded soon.

I would go and try to get this price matched for an upgrade at a best buy, have the amazon page loaded on your phone and if they are careless they might not notice the "new line only" requirement.
Others have succeeded before...

You can port your current number to Google Voice (closing your existing account). Then open a new account, and have Google Voice forward incoming calls to your new number. As a bonus you get free unlimited text messages at the Google Voice number (which is the one all your friends already have) and don't need to pay the carrier for a text plan.

I called 611 and the customer support rep price matched for $99.99 without any question. Ordered 2 phones ( upgrade). But there is still an activation fee of $36 for each phone. She said, she cannot waive this activation fee. Note, i hve been with att for 10 yrs. she mentioned that, she does price match, becos of the valued customer.

Some ppl just talk without knowing any info...Sprint LTE is 70%+ here in Chicago perfect for me and thank god great speeds. Have maybe seen 3g once or twice if ever in the last couple weeks. S4gru is a great site with good updates and better detailed maps.

Got AT&T Upgrade

Called 611 and asked the representative to price match for an upgrade on my wife's line. At first, she sounded like there was nothing she could do, but after I said I had been a longtime customer, she was eventually able to get me the price match after "speaking with her supervisor". Being in California, however, I was forced to pay $50 in taxes!

I'm also an AT&T premier (business) customer so I got the activation waived and free shipping!!

Good. Now after you receive your phone call AT&T after a week and tell that you are disappointed that you have been charged for activation fees inspire of the fact that you were their customer for 10 years. My friend has tried this trick and this worked like champ. Have fun!

How is anything even a deal when it comes with a 2 year contract. This is a joke. No contract is taking over... America will now catch up with the rest of the world. AT&T and VZ coverage is second to none. I'd love to go with straightl talk but I need solid data and voice coverage as I use my phone a lot.

Has anyone been able to do this as an "enterprise" customer. I wonder if that's hindering me

Straight talk is ATT you wont get the 4g but it isnt worth it to me for 30 more dollars a month. And there are other MVNOs out there that are great too. I'm a member of one so can't post them but do some research..

jhartt3 01-19-2013 05:28 AM

I actually have no cell phone bill which i would deem the ultimate slickdeal. But can't post that info on here. Got in trouble for it.

yakapo 01-19-2013 05:35 AM

at&t lte will get you 30mbps easy in Dallas. I live way north of Dallas and I get about 15mpbs. I'm so far out of town that the only other way to get internet is by satellite.

rrc06 01-19-2013 06:07 AM

Success! Got the note II for $99 for me and the Galaxy Express (just below the S3 in specs) for $29 for the DW who doesn't care about having a high-end smartphone.

Webchat rep had me call AT&T customer care and they were able to PM over the phone.

Still had to pay $36 upgrade fee per line. Debating whether to try and get that removed in the next few days

Hi, can you tell me where approximately in Houston do you live to have "okay" 4g? I've had Sprint before where I live now, DFW, and it's not good at all. However, I'll be moving back to Houston soon in the Sugarland area and I would like to know if it's good there. Also, I'll be working in Conroe/Woodlands area so if you have any input regarding those areas would be much appreciated! TIA

I have enterprise, chat was a no-go but they had me call in and after some blah blah about having to speak with their manager they matched for me. Waived shipping and upgrade fee.

They charged me an upgrade fee. Maybe I should call back later and see if I can get it waived. Did you ask them to waive it for you or did they do it automatically?

No you cannot. From what I know, Sprint phones can be flashed to work with their prepaid operators like Boost, Virgin mobile etc, but not verizon.

Anybody had any luck price matching at BB for an upgrade on Sprint?

global37 01-19-2013 07:37 AM

Thanks..... got my upgrade from AT&T yesterday night for $99.99.... Happy! :-)

wasilvers 01-19-2013 08:02 AM

I was told no price matching by two people. I pushed back and was offered 125 off att, still pushing for $200 off...

Got it for $200!!!!!, but had to threaten to take my 3 family phones to sprint.

I live in the northwest area around the beltway and 290, I took a look at the interactive maps in s4gru.com and found that LTE coverage around Sugarland and the Woodlands are not very saturated at the moment, but both areas have all towers slated for LTE upgrades by October of this year, and I wouldn't be surprised if they finish those areas around summer.

I did, but had to abort the transaction because I'm not available to sign for the package. Would not have been an issue if they'd had the phone in stock. It seems no one has the grey. They did have the white ones, however.

eta: Oh and they charged me tax on the full phone price. $72 in taxes for a $99 phone. smh

tryingfirsttime 01-19-2013 10:47 AM

No go with ATT 611 , they said that they dont do price match over the phone.

What are you guys saying "that you want to pricematch a sprint offer you saw at amazon wireless" ?

phlip00ws6 01-19-2013 10:55 AM

I asked if ATT could price match Sprint's 99.99, and the guy said "We have the phone for 399.99, but I can give it you for 299".. Ha what a douche bag.

Well that was just a lie.. They do price matching over the phone all the time. As to what to say, I said Sprint's Amazon.com price of 99 and the guy kind of went around the question and said he'd do 299 for me.

Edit

Called 3 times, talked to a floor manager, and he stated that if anyone price matches the phone for 99 through another carrier besides ATT, they would lose their jobs. So wtf.

eluxing 01-19-2013 11:05 AM

Called AT&T 611 for 45 minutes

They price matched!!!!!!

Total is $119.19

Should receive it Wednesday.

Can't wait.

What exactly happened? And how did you bring up the price match? Im dialing 611, 888 numbers, everything and it's just impossible.

yngan3145 01-19-2013 11:17 AM

for those who were able to do pricematch att, how did you guys convince the rep to do it? I called & chatted and it was a no go. :(:(

aquaholik 01-19-2013 11:21 AM

You need to check the sensorly map or app before trying to get on board with Sprint. In some area, LTE coverage is good and in those area, when you stray out of LTE, 3G is decent since the availibility of LTE nearby helps to lessen 3G traffic. In area without LTE, Sprint 3G is pretty poor. In St Petersburg, FL, LTE is almost fully built out and getting a lot better the last 30 days. Looks like the Tampa area is starting to get LTE but it seems much slower progress than this side of the bay.

In area where you do get LTE IN ST PETERSBURG, FL, it varies from 2Mbps-32Mbps depending on how strong the LTE signal is.

. I also tried online chat twice and no go.I called 611 choose the option of process upgrade

I didn't convince him. I just say amazon sprint is offering Note II for 99.99, can you match? He said it is $399 in their system, blah blah. Then he went to his supervisor and got approved. Most time he is sighing and working on the computer.

Basically, yes. Call customer care (not 611 I think --- it's 18003310500) and do it over the phone. It might not work despite that but worth a try

Mal8525 01-19-2013 01:15 PM

reps are so autonomous, she kept saying "yes that is an offer from sprint and we do not price match over the phone" over and over after I told her other att customers have been getting the price match over the phone. Then I told her okay I'll just try another rep.

masque9 01-19-2013 01:33 PM

chatted with cancellation, they talked to customercare, cancellation gave $20 for next 3 months and cc gave the phone for $222 (including shipping taxes) activation is waived....

Did they charge you fedex shipping? they gave me 199 price, came out to 222 - 60 (20 credited for 3 months) = $162 ....even though I'm eligible for an upgrade on 30th June :)?

Mal8525 01-19-2013 02:29 PM

This really sucks, tried a few times lowest they will go for being "loyal" is $199. Even after explaining how other att customers were being awarded the price match they still blah blah blahed me.

walled 01-19-2013 02:36 PM

Anyone had any success at getting this price with a T-mobile upgrade?

Plasmaskies 01-19-2013 02:37 PM

I was eligible for ATT upgrade and when they offered it to me for $199 I just said why would I agree to pay more when Sprint is offering for less? So he "let me go check something" --> got transferred to big guy who ran the show and worked it out for me.
Bottom line: Persistence will give you the deal

I was able to get Best Buy to price match for an AT&T upgrade.

I showed the receipt posted in the beginning, where AT&T gave it for $99 and no questions asked after that.

Ok took a while but after 6 calls I was finally able to get them to price match 2 phones for $99 each. So persistence is the key apparently. Although I was on the line for 30+ minutes on hold a lot waiting for the rep to finish up the orders. Looking at my CC account I was charged $116 (tax+shipping?) for each phone, so I guess they waived the activation fee even though he said he couldn't.

Nope. It will show up in a bill or two. I didn't get it waived either and also didn't pay it now. That's how it works.

srjay 01-19-2013 05:56 PM

called and also tried chat - ATT reps seems to dont hesitate to tell me ..
"NO! we dont price match but go ahead and purchase from Amazon".

Hilltopper03 01-19-2013 06:03 PM

Got the Note II as an upgrade with AT&T for 175.00 and they waived activation fee and free next day delivery. I was super persistent and this was the best deal I was able to muster.

FWIW, I tried getting PM at Best Buy but they would only do it for Sprint, not AT&T. (Sprint does not have LTE coverage in Austin Area so not a good move for me)

wasilvers 01-19-2013 06:08 PM

I told them I was a long time customer and wanted to upgrade to a note 2... but the problem is, sprint has it for 99, but att for 300. $200 is a far way off. She said they don't pricematch, I said why would I pay you 300 when I can get it for a third of that from another carrier? Is there anything you can do for me.. I've been a customer for years. She put me on hold and came out with 175 for the phone. I thanked her for her work, but that still wasn't sprints price. She said that was all she could do. I said why would I pay 200ish per phone when I could walk into sprint and get the same phone for 99.. and get my wife one for 99, and get my kids ones for 99... and go on their share everything plan (not sure that's even theirs). That doesn't make sense to me. Got put on hold and they sold me the phone for 299, and credited against my bill 200. plus free priority shipping, plus call back for waived activation fees. Took about 30-40 minutes on the phone. On hold I commented to a coworker - 'sprint has good service - a friend has it and they have coverage right up into the hunting cabin - att doesn't cover at all out there - I can switch, just hate moving all my numbers over there" I got the discount.

desolved 01-19-2013 06:11 PM

I can also confirm that this works. I wasn't eligible for an upgrade and they gave me the 199 price with free shipping and waived upgrade. Call the retention department: 18003310500 and dial 3 twice to get to the correct place. Be blunt! Tell them that Sprint has the $99 deal and you are considering making the switch to sprint.

Did you actually think she'd just take the word from someone calling in trying to get their way. Customers lie quite often to try to get a rep to change their set policy, like people with Verizon saying they know at least 5 people who've gotten Iphone 5's even though their upgrade wasn't up. Nobody gets early upgrade to an Iphone with Verizon and anyone saying anything different is blowing smoke up your %*ss.

Had two upgrades through ATT and my wonderful rep didn't give me any problems. It did take about 30mins on the phone waiting for supervisor approval. Repped!

boozereddy 01-19-2013 07:56 PM

this was the easiest call I have made till date to ATT. As someone else pointed out I was blunt and asked them to price match sprint for 99$..The rep offered me this for 149$ and 50$ statement credit. I took it. Thanks OP..hope this helps everyone....FYI...I will be eligible for upgrade in feb...good luck...

jtnxgq 01-19-2013 08:43 PM

Man, it seems as though many people like this phone! I've been looking forward to this phone for a long time. All I remember reading before it came out and soon after it was released with reviews of the phone was that it was too big and that SHOULD be a "negative/con" for the phone... Seeing as to how many people I've talked to who have it, read on 'unbiased' review sites (*ahem* non iphone lovers), and here, it seems as though this phone is just as I hoped it would be! I'm with T-mobile and tried to get them to give me an upgrade today but it was a no-go. Especially since I'm 2 months away from ending my contract so there's no pull for me there. I'm already at my upgrade point but T-mobile won't match it. All they'll offer me is ~$217, they say the best they can do for me, so I told them I'll wait and perhaps switch to Sprint. Hope I can find a deal by then.

This is a ymmv deal. Not everyone is convincing AT&T to give it at this price

joogle 01-20-2013 09:09 AM

anyone know the ETF? If I buy one and then cancel a week later, what costs are associated? Thanks

SUCCESS! Finally after 6 calls I got a rep who let me have this deal with supervisor override. Had to pay $10 for shipping, no activation charges.

This was for upgrading my wife's line, but I will be using the phone.

livingaboard 01-20-2013 09:53 AM

Nice price. I paid $300 in November through at&t. I had just signed up in February so this was a one time early upgrade they offered me because of the problems I was having with my phone.

Last week my AT&T Note 2 broke when it fell off the arm of my recliner and hit the sliding glass door vinyl frame. I had an Otterbox Defender case also. The screen didn't break but whatever glass screen is underneath did. It should have never broken. These things can be fragile so just keep in mind.

I paid $710 for a new one that night, at the store, and filed a claim for insurance and got another new one for $200. Insurance was jerking me around so I didn't expect to get my phone replacement anytime soon. That is why I paid full boat.

zappevn 01-20-2013 10:47 AM

Guys, please. The online chat service on AT&T's site CANNOT change the prices you see. We simply don't have access to the system to do that. Quit chatting in asking if we can change it. However much we'd like to give you $200 off a phone, we just can't. All it does is become frustrating for you and us if you persist in trying to get us to do something we can't.

(This is the chat service that pops up while you're just browsing the site).

notObsessed 01-20-2013 11:30 AM

I have tried chatting and calling a few times and going to Best Buy (for two lines on a new contract), nothing. I'm giving up. I'm glad some of you were able to get it.

MCeatalot 01-20-2013 11:54 AM

Called Verizon three times but the wouldn't budge in.

Sorry. I almost posted the same question. Poor verizon customer.

Tried chatting and calling AT&T with no luck, but Best Buy Mobile gladly accepted the price match.

Man you've got me worried now. The Defender is supposed to be one solid well-built, bulky case. I decided to get the Ballistic case [amazon.com] for my Note 2. I guess I will have to baby it despite the case.

Should I even bother contacting AT&T to price match? I'm adding a line to my family plan. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Worth a shot. try the AT&T customer care number instead of 611. Be polite and firm. That's how i got it

I spoke with the att sales hotline (customer care) and they would only lower it to 199 with waived activation and shipping (I went ahead and bought it at this price, as they were not going to budge).

I immediately called back to the cancellation line and asked why others were getting this discount but not me, and after about 20 minutes they gave me a 35$ credit for the next 3 months.

So technically I got the phone for $94.99 before taxes, with free shipping and activation!

Thanks!

No dice for new activations so far. I've tried on 5 different calls with one that was transferred to a manager who still advised they couldn't do it.

surprising.... I would think they'd want to get new long-term customers. Maybe they are only giving this to loyal AT&T customers who are threatening to churn over to another provider??

I know i've been with AT&T for over a decade and spend over $100+ a month on two lines with the data etc. I am also an "enterprise" customer, whatever that means

Yes, I know... I also explained the type of plan I wanted (share everything plan) @ $140/month and that still didn't work but I felt he tried to do as much as he could. He placed me on hold to check with other managers on staff and still couldn't do it. I've checked with local AT&T stores, best buy, and best buy mobile and was shot down.

Rajg123 01-20-2013 04:50 PM

Got it for 99

Thanks OP. tried web chat and called once. But did not go thru. Tried the 2nd time today and they gave for 99$. But din't waive the upgrade fee. I will have to call back after I recieve the phone.

Also after having a 4Glte phone for the first time I found out that att's unlimited plan is actually limited, really rubs me the wrong way!

Nobody has a truly unlimited data plan. I don't understand why that would rub you the wrong way. Verizon and TMobile have soft caps on their data plans as well.

IMO Note 2 is the best smart phone on the market for me (cause iPhone isn't on TMobile yet). I was looking at S3 Galaxy but there's so many problems with the phone bricking, problems running apps, incompatibility with standard HDMI out to TV plug, etc. S3 just feels like it was rushed to market. Like they cut corners.

Note 2 feels like they took their time to develop it and make sure everything was good. It even looks better style wise IMO. I haven't heard nearly the negative publicity about Note 2 that I have about S3 Galaxy.

Is there much difference between AT&T and Sprint? I would appreciate some opinions of those in the Austin area in regards to dropped calls and service quality.

You can check out coverage on this website: http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp
I don't know if it pertains to data or not. For me, I was using a Virgin Mobile Prepaid phone which piggy backed off the Sprint network. That's how I got familiar with their coverage in my area (this was years ago).

I moved from Sprint to TMobile and couldn't be happier. I know I have very low prices and good service with TMobile. If you want smartphone, TMobile is the cheapest for data.

If you are just a cheap bastard and money is the end all be-all, Sprint is your choice. The reason is because, and you can check the forums here at Slickdeals, there are SERO plans and others that people can get with that allow you to get insanely low prices for your service.

The secret is, you call Sprint and tell them what you want. If they don't give it to you, you hang up and try another person. Do this over and over until you get what you want. TMobile plays this game more now, but it's not out of control like Sprint. Bear in mind, if you are buying a smartphone they may treat you differently. I could probably save $10/mo by going with Sprint, but you lose so many intangibles it's not worth it to me.

I'd be curious why you would consider leaving TMobile. I think they are awesome. You lose so much flexibility by going with Sprint. First off, you can't change phones without calling customer service and getting the service transferred over to your new phone. And there's usually a fee to transfer to your new phone. With TMobile just swap out the sim card from one phone to the other and you're done. By going with TMobile you have increased flexibility of being able to run pretty much any phone out there and using it wherever you want, including overseas. You don't have the same flexibility with Sprint.

I used to have a Sony dumb phone. I signed up for the $5/mo unlimited data plan on TMobile because I was a loyal customer. Then I promptly bought a Nexus One smartphone and swapped out the sim card. I was loving it!

Uisynot 01-20-2013 05:03 PM

Just got off the phone with At&t. After calling 10-15 times over a course of 2 days, I was finally able to find a rep to get it done. Told them that I wanted to see if I can get the same price that sprint was offering to their customers. Was first told that it was impossible but he'd ask anyway. Was on hold for about 20 mins and then we were all good to go!

Kind of dumb to say that its impossible but then turn around and say its all good.

Upgraded all 5 of my lines on a family plan for $99 / waived activation and overnight free.

:woot:

davi00 01-20-2013 06:41 PM

After many calls and chat sessions, I was finally able to get the phone for my dad

The last salesperson was very polite and nice. She seemed like she already knew this deal going on. I asked that different provider is having a sale, and she said, so what price Sprint is offering?
Went back and forth with her manager and after about 20 minutes she had the phone ordered

Thanks op!

Got a price match for ATT.
First I called Amazon wireless': They said..They don't price match for different companies.
Then I called ATT's 611 number...The person said he's never heard of a price match through the phone in his entire career and that was a no go.
Then I called the 800 number the person saw the notes of the last person and said that they don't do price matches at all..Then he looked up my status of how many years I've been with them..He said since I've been a loyal customer he'll try to get me the price. He spoke to his supervisor and said he could get it for me.

The total was about $170 (Tax in Califorina & Free shipping)

Weird. I also am in California and it was $155 for all phones. I live in the bay area (highest tax rates around) I think they charged you for shipping or something. I would find out if you have the time...

awesome!! just got them to price match for my two lines...though they wouldn't waive the activation fee...still happy! Thanks OP!!

Even though I was planning on waiting for them to announce the note 3 but rumors are that it will be 6.3" which is just way toooo much for a phone.

GOOD BUY IPHONE!!

S4 likely won't hit til US carriers til July if it gets released in May. Europe seems to get stuff first.

I wish I could wait that long but I decided to bite on this. 6.3" seems too damn big to me. I'll take 5.5" with a quad-core processor now :bounce:

How is Sprint service in general in a big city like Chicago? I dont see the point in staying with T-mobile if sprint is practically giving away phones for free (Galaxy S3)

Noob question. So I'm currently using AT&T. My 2 year contract ran out 2 months ago so I'm eligible to go anywhere.

Can I do the following together:
1. Bring the screenshot to Bestbuy, ask them to match for AT&T
2. Use this $50 off $100 coupon from this thread http://slickdeals.net/f/5810572-B...d-Required (I'll probably have to get a $1 filler),
3. Use $20 rewardzone certificate?

Yes, and a bit of a shock as I would have been happy paying $99 + activation.
The nice rep also said All activation fees are automatically waved in her department.
1-2 day shipping was also credited back. I Did mention the Sprint price and my concerns with ATT matching at the beginning of the call but made no threats ect.

ATT order email just arrived And I also see the Credits online at ATT. I'll check on shipping status later today.

Good Luck!

Ugh....so frustrating!! I just talked to three different agents. All of them told me no. One even said that this is fake and that if people are saying they are getting it for this price then they are lying. I guess I give up and just stick with the old phone until this comes down in price. I have called and chatted more times than I can count. I'm happy for the people that have been able to get it for this price.

I went to a Best Buy with a print out of the $100 Amazon Wireless Note2 deal and got denied. The rep said they would only price match if it's an exact product & carrier match.
I called AT&T and spoke to the a customer service rep and the lowest they can go was $299! I even threaten to leave since my contract ends in February and his repsonse was "if that's what you feel you need to do." Lame wireless service equats to their lame customer service!
I'm tempted to get the iPhone 5 since it's on sale at Best Buy for $149 in stock.

I haven't done this yet but I'm sure if you keep calling AT&T, it will eventually work in your favor for $99 and getting the shipping/upgrade costs waived. Just keep trying if you really want it. Of course if you want the iPhone 5, get it today for $149.99 and also use the Mastercard $50 off coupon. Slick price on an iPhone 5 16gb.

4 begging calls, 3 threatening ones, and 4 sessions of live chat AND STILL 300$. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?

fyi- I have grandfathered unlimited so are they just telling me to gtfo because I mentioned in 3 calls that I was gonna leave ATT for Sprint and they said "I would be glad to assist you with that"

I finally got one today after calling the enterprise number.I had to explain that my phone is acting up and can't afford $299. The very nice lady put me on hold for 2 minutes then she said PM is approved :). Thanks OP!!!

I'm waiting for a deal on a Sprint Upgrade for the Note II.

I see Amazon is $199 now.
Anyone had any luck with lower prices?
