I just called 1-888-BestBuy and explained that the manager at the Camelback location in Phoenix, AZ was refusing to honor the deal of the printout I had, and warned this could bring about a false advertising lawsuit. She was very nice and helpful. I was trying to buy Amazon gift cards which she could not pull up online (I coudn't either), but she offered to mail me a $100 gift card and only charge me $50 for it. She also double-checked that I would be able to buy an Amazon gift card with my Best Buy giftcard once it comes in. YMMV, good luck!

EDIT: I just mentioned how they took care of the guy below me with the Keurig, and she sent me $150 gift cards for the price of $50 and express shipped them to me without me even asking! This is incredible! They really don't want a lawsuit :)

Well it's 50% off if you just spend $100, but the higher you go that value of it will decrease. So I guess they are hoping you spend more like $300-$500 and it will only be like a 10%-15% discount at that point.

They do not have to exclude gift cards...I can see it now. The first few people that show up when the stores open on the east coast get the gift cards after haggling with the managers...the managers realize what is going on...then all the gift cards disappear off the racks to the back rooms with emails flying to all stores to follow suit so those on the West coast can pretty much forget it.

Well it has a barcode so a simple scan will tell the cashier if it works or not? Why read all the info and when a simple scan will do the job.

Nah it would be worse than that. This whole deal would get axed by mid-day, on everything. That is definitely what is going to happen. I think you'll just have to strike early and grab whatever you see as a good deal. Doubt GCs will even work, because they can refuse pretty much whatever they want...and getting a $100 GC for $50 is a lot more suspicious than getting, say, a $100 pair of headphones for $50.

It is the system doing the discount automatically. If it does not do it, you may get charged for the full price on the gift cards before you realizing it.

They might not be excluded specifically, but they might not work at the register when you scan the coupon. Many gift cards require activation first, and putting in a discount on them at a POS system might draw a red flag or cause issues that need a manager override.

If you remember that Target price mistake a while back on PSN gift cards, some stores were having trouble activating the gift card because of a price adjustment. Not saying that's definitely the case here, but we won't know until we try.

I'm pretty sure only the first few people can do this. A manager over ride is definitely needed. Once that manager see's whats going on then its a no go for GC's.

This will not make it past the first person through the door imo. Save yourself the time and trouble. They are not going to subsidize another company by giving you 50% off gift cards to Amazon, etc. They have so many exclusions and can always claim a misprint and add more. If this is even real, the best you can hope for is $50 off some PC speakers or a couple of games or a gps and that would be after they make you wait for an hour and treat you like dirt and I would not waste the time and effort and gas. Their reputation is awful for a reason.

Because if you read the coupon, you could legitimately walk in the store with a ream of them printed out, go to the gift cards section and grab all of them and then go to the cashier and pay in 100 dollar increments getting $50 off each. Then go get a bunch of $100 GPSs at half off, etc. If it is real, then someone forgot to add, "1 per customer" and "gift cards excluded"...Then it would be your typical $50 off nothing you likely want or stuff that is already way overpriced deal which is Worst Buy in a nutshell.

The store near me only has a couple of monitors, but at high price. It's all about the corporate trying to increase the revenue and traffic to make it look good on reports.

You guys really aren't understanding the exclusions. The bolded parts on the coupon are the categories only, and then after the colon it shows WHICH parts of those categories are excluded. The only portable electronics excluded are ipods and bose products.

So no, tablets aren't excluded but I don't think its the best way to use the coupon. There is a lot of stuff that isn't excluded in fact.

Monitors are probably the way to go to get the most value out of this, depending on your store's availability.

DSLRs are excluded which is a major component of the Canon product line.
Monitors and the other stuff you will likely find either have had their prices raised or are out of stock.

Worst buy does not compete price-wise as a general rule. Every now and then they might have a sale on specific items that might be worth the trouble, but it is the exception to the rule in my experience. The only way they are not doing their usual finagling is if MC is underwriting the $50 discount and reimbursing BB for this offer (assuming it is real). Then sure, maybe they would not care and let anything go. Otherwise you can be pretty safe in assuming they are not going to let people get 50% off anything they already have slim margins on.
