Bestbuy and Amazon.com knows not to charge tax on this.

TigerDirect is not in CA, so there is never any tax from them.

NewEgg is a little late to the game on this one. Buy.com and TigerDirect both did this deal within the last week. A lot of people took advantage then.

It will be the same price beginning on Sunday at Best Buy.

You can probably start ordering ONLINE late Saturday evening for in-store pick up on Sunday. Sales tax applies to most in both instances.

Usually there is no sales tax on these Xbox Live codes. These codes count as a services not goods, so sales tax don't apply.

You get all your cards then the next day you see the following headline. MICROSOFT announced XBOX live gold is now free..... You know with the next Xbox announcement in the coming months anything can happen.

The way Microsoft is pushing integration across all platforms of their devices you would be surprised. Plus how often has Microsoft made sensible decisions lately.. Windows 8 RT.... Just something to watch out for, even though i am pretty sure your going to be reselling, so you wont have them that long.

Another note, I'd be pretty damn excited IF they canned Gold. I only use it for Netflix, Party Chat, and a few games.

I'm going to hold off for the Best Buy sale and use some Gift Cards. I do feel that Microsoft will continue to milk this service until the last drop. I was hoping the PS+ model might be adopted, I could go for some Free on Demand games on live as well heh.

Posted over at CAG earlier this week. $34.99 for the 12-month card. Printed ad 1/27 thru 2/2 can easily be matched at Wal-mart.

For those who buy multiple memberships when these sales come around (often), I must inquire about the motivation. As I said, these sales pop up often and a year from now when your subscription is up, you might find it for less than $35. At the very least, the price will hold steady.

XBL prices have been going up and are likely to continue to do so. Might as well lock it in now when you have the chance.

Ah. I see. I had no idea about the state of things. This is only the second time I've purchased an XBL membership. Each time it was $35.

You just never know with Microsoft. I bought a $40 membership in between two $35 memberships (still kicking myself for that one) because before this month, $35 for a year of live was a fairly rare deal. The alternative was $45+ to pay for a year and most people don't want to wait a few days/weeks just to save $5-10 if their friends are online begging them to play.
