For those that are too lazy to drive to best buy, amazon has price matched.

http://www.amazon.com/Taken-2-Unr...ds=taken+2

lenell86 01-25-2013 06:49 PM

jho 01-25-2013 08:59 PM

Decent price, but disappointing movie.

PhawkYouToo 01-25-2013 08:59 PM

Any good?

Edit: Never mind, post above mine that wasn't there when I was writing my post answers my question!

madhuk10 01-25-2013 09:11 PM

Driving to Bestbuy can get it reduced to $8 :-)

Instead of 'For those that are too lazy to drive to best buy',
I prefer 'For those of us that refuse to step into a cesspool filled with incompetent employees'

A typical Best Buy transaction at the register:

Best Buy employee at register: Hi welcome to Best Buy. Will you be putting this purchase on you Best Buy Card today?
Customer: No.
Employee: Would you like to sign up for a Best Buy card today?
Customer: No thanks.
Employee: Do you have a Best Buy Rewards card?
Customer: No.
Employee: Would you like to sign up? It’s only $9.99 and for every $125 you spend…
Customer: No thanks.
Employee: Would you like to purchase an Extended Service Plan on this? If anything goes wrong in the next 4 years…
Customer: No.
Employee: Would you like to sign up for 4 free weeks of Sports Illustrated or Entertain…
Customer: No
Employee: Would you like to try Netflix free for 2…
Customer: NO.
Employee: Would you like to try a free trial of Rhapsody music service? It allows you to…
Customer: NO!
Employee: Your Purchase today enables you to get a free trial of an Internet Service Provider. We offer AOL, Net Zero…
Customer: NO GOD DAMNIT!
Employee: The cables that come with this are very low quality. I would recommend getting some Monster Cables. They’re only 69.99 and will greatly increase sound and picture quality.
Customer: WHAT THE PHAWK IS YOUR PROBLEM???
Employee: Would you like any extra batteries to go with your remote?
Customer: PHAWK YOU!
Employee: On the bottom of your receipt there’s a survey and if you do it you will be put in a drawing to win a $500 Best Buy gift card.
Customer: SHUT UP! JUST SHUT THE PHAWK UP!!!

Anyway, thanks for the post OP!!

allen_7 01-25-2013 09:18 PM

Get it from Bestbuy for 7.99 with an used DVD, watch it, and trade it in to Amazon for $12.50.

That's what I did :)

bigballs 01-25-2013 09:19 PM

This movie was barely entertaining once. This and the Bourne series are ridiculously funny. Two barely in shape and old white guys kicking butt.

So do you base all your purchasing decisions on a single random internet poster's 2 word review?

You have a very particular set of skills.

pollux 01-25-2013 09:26 PM

This was a pretty bad movie. I cannot recommend it at all. If you have Amazon Prime, you're probably better off with something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Man-Nowhere...om+nowhere

So what's it to ya? Why do you care how I base my decisions? Doesn't affect you in one frickin way, now does it?

Agreed. I personally wouldn't buy it. I'd just rent it at a redbox and watch it. Not sure if it's really worth watching but I suppose if you liked the first one then you could watch the second. But be warned it's not all that great.

luvsabargn 01-25-2013 10:26 PM

Picked up with my Rewardzone points. $3.XX out the door and if it's as horrible as some as you say, I will just resell on Amazon, I was going to use my reward certs for Amazon gc's anyhow. Thanks OP!

bobbyg27 01-25-2013 10:38 PM

Thanks... bought. TU and Rep.

dQn 01-25-2013 10:41 PM

Taken 1 is one my all time favorite movies!

ConFu 01-25-2013 11:21 PM

I must have missed something. How exactly do you get it for $8 at Best Buy?

?...the TIV for $12.50 is only for a new copy. an opened/used copy is a few dollars I think. I guess you can use the digital copy and then trade it in.

I also traded in a DVD and paid $8 so that's a nice deal whether it's not that great of a movie.

It's one thing making a recommendation about a sequel but the way that you make it sound, you weren't even a fan of the first. Am I missing something here?

Firstly, you don't have to be in perfect shape to kick butt. Just watch any Samo Hung movie to see that! Secondly, Straight Tooken was awesome! Straight Tooken two, starring the incomparable Liam Neesons was worth at least one run through. The first Bourne was sweet too!

sdlife 01-26-2013 01:26 AM

I picked it up today at Best Buy with the upgrade and save. I enjoyed the movie. I don't know why others here didn't like it.

Not to get too much off track, but hasn't that almost always been the case with American action movies? I mean think of all the Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood, Chuck Norris, and Steven Seagal movies over the years. If you're not really even a fan of the genre, why comment? I will give it to you on the Bourne movies. I could barely stay awake for those. At least the newest one was a little better; still far from great. Many of us loved the first Taken. Comparing the first to the second would be much more helpful.

Thank you. That's all anyone was looking for, a comparison to the first. I kind of figured this would be the case; I mean how often is a sequel anywhere near as good as the first? Hell, most of the time my opinion of a movie drops so much because of sequels. People would've remembered the Matrix as one of the greatest movies of all time if they didn't soil the name with the sequels.

hardin71 01-26-2013 01:42 AM

Good deal, not a great movie.

Xenomorph 01-26-2013 02:20 AM

That was a fast price drop. Maybe done to entice people to buy a terrible movie. Still upset I paid to see it in theaters...

Taken 1 was also pretty bad IMO. SO I assume that this means his dd was "taken" again? Lame.
