Ok, so I was looking for .22 LR ammo and as you all know it's sold out everywhere... BUT I came into luck... Basspro has the above for the price I listed and it IS in stock... The website has not updated yet... The rep said they just got there supply today... I just ordered 2000 rds for $96.64 shipped...

There is a shipping charge of around $12.50 for that many but as I was searching for a coupon code to bring the price down while I was on the phone with the rep , I asked my rep if she could do anything for me to bring the price down... She agreed to a $10.00 discount and lowered my price down to the $96.64.

Hence my shipping was really only around $2.50 give or take...

She said my ammo was definately in stock and I should have it in a couple of days.

To get it you have to call their toll-free number!!! 1.800.227.7776 item #38-898-295-04

I've used Winchester Ammo for the past 30 years and have never had a problem...

pezdukie 01-25-2013 08:23 PM

Great deal.

Check out mylinkables.com for $15 back on $75 purchase at Bass Pro. Upromise and other sites also have cashback deals (upromise - 5%). Very slick deal

Nope. Paid attention to any of the current events lately?

With all the common rifle and pistol calibers sold out even at extremely elevated prices, 22LR is about all the common man can afford to shoot these days.

CAL_BEAR 01-25-2013 08:29 PM

Didn't get the $10 off order...But keep missing these .22 deals, so much appreciated OP!!

ma153756 01-25-2013 08:32 PM

thanks OP, grabbed 20 boxes (1k rnds) and at the time it never said out of stock or on backorder. Its not a crazy good deal but its about average. Problem is these are sold out everywhere and even at the gun show couple weeks ago they are selling them for more than this.

I picked up these exact same bullets at Gander Mountain a couple months ago (when they had plenty) and i paid $27.99 for 500 rounds. My price after shipping and all was $56.31.

Sent this link to a couple of my buddies just now and they said it already shows out of stock

Yes, was there twice this week. Put 500 rnd through my M&P 15-22. Got a few boxes each time.

LOL I've got the M&P 15-22 too....plus 5 30 round magazines

RaleighGuy 01-25-2013 08:41 PM

Why is this a very good deal?
525 rounds usually goes below < $ 20

50 rounds = $ 2.19
50 x 10 = 500 rounds = $ 2.19 x 10 (+ shipping or Tax) > $ 20

Because nobody has any in stock. Have you tried to buy any lately? All sold out in the Triangle is what I have found.

That's because everyone, it seems, is stockpiling their cache. I was in the market for a nice 1911, but now I can't find any in stock. I'm just waiting for now till this hype subsides.

HEATBaller 01-25-2013 09:04 PM

any 9mm ammo left on Earth ?

brokencycle 01-25-2013 09:07 PM

$0.0438/round before shipping doesn't seem very hot, but I guess ammo prices have been crazy, and I haven't seen anything better for awhile.

This time last year I was buying at less than 3 cents/round. =/

was at a local walmart yesterday, they had at least a few boxes of everything except .22 LR (they even had .223 in stock, though it was the cheap wolf steel case stuff)

just dont have kids that lead decay can be not good for the blood stream.

And I did buy 4 boxes of 147gr 9mm FMJ from atalantictactical yesterday for $12 a box of 50 plus $2 shipping which is pretty much fair and cheap pricing that I've seen. For good Winchester ammo.

I'll second that.

In the Winchester 555 packs I pick up at Wal-Mart, I'll usually get one or two FTFs and a few rounds with manufacturing defects (Typically a bit of lead shaved off the bullet).

But it's bulk-pack rimfire ammo. Considering that it's 22 LR, a failure rate under 0.5% is pretty good.

jlewis99 01-25-2013 09:54 PM

I just called and they are back ordered now. The web site won't allow orders. She did take my order as a back order and expect them in the first week of February. I'm good with that so I ordered some.
Thanks for the heads up.

I just got a M&P 15-22 (Academy $470, ouch!) and am looking forward to shooting it! Need to get a scope or illuminated dot or something for it after I find out whats good!

sowazit2you 01-25-2013 10:55 PM

Not shipping to NY DC IL MA NJ as I found out after my orde of 1000 was cancelled

They did have a 5 boxes limit on pistol ammo when I was there earlier this week. That just means I need to visit often :)

Unless a zombie apocalypse actually happens, I see no reason to stock pile ammo.

Oos @ 11:33pm est

I just checked my email and found a "backordered" notification only minutes after I placed the order last night.

Wouldn't you think the third, fourth or even tenth time the NRA, beating the drum for the gun and ammo manufacturers, cried, "they're coming to take your guns away" people would figure it out?

Things that are not Slickdeals:
-air conditioners on the day the temp breaks 100
-any new iPad on the day it comes out
-any generator right before a snowstorm
-every gun or ammo deal this year

People stockpiling ammo and guns right now are saying all the same things as people buying houses in 2008 and tech stocks in 1999.

Well then you must not enjoy shooting. It's a sport to many people such as myself.

Superorb 01-26-2013 05:21 PM

I went into a Bass Pro today and the gun section was pathetic. The case was completely empty except for 4 or 5 revolvers. The guy said they sometimes get 4 guns on a truck and they don't know what's on it till it arrives and they read the manifest.

I just want a .22 rifle, but all the panic buyers cleared them out of everything because the genius politicians think that banning guns will actually reduce crime.

Wish I'd seen this earlier so I could've looked for ammo while I was there. No one in town has any long guns except for a few shot guns and expensive bolt-action rifles.

Dr. J 01-26-2013 05:36 PM

Well the up side is that when this nonsense blows over, everyone will have already bought enough ammo for 100 years so there should be some good deals.

When you can dump a Ruger 10/22 25 round mag in a few seconds of fun you need lots of it.

Then you are extremely short sighted.

When the attempts at gunban's fail... what do you think they are going to target?

Ammunition.

Taxing, restricting, regulating and limiting ammunition will do more than any gun ban ever will in the eyes of the left wing statist.

In under a decade, if things do not change, you will be wishing you had bought a few more bulk packs of ammo.

honestly, I don't even have a gun to shoot it with. So it would be a waste of money for me. I do plan on buying some sort of home protection shortly though. Still not sure what I want to go with though. Depends on where our future home is located, in the city, or rural.

Just rely on the police, that's what the politicians want you to do.

Exactly. All these people with a false sense of security. First of all, the police's job is not to protect people. It has been ruled in court that officers have NO duty to protect anyone but themselves. They're basically good for writing up a report and documenting what took place.

There's no possible way the police can protect every person, every time. If it were a constitutional duty for police to protect everyone they could be sued if they fail to do so (which is what happened in this case).

Many people have a fire extinguisher to help protect themselves in case of fire rather than waiting for the fire department. People need to take responsibility for themselves into their own hands. Unfortunately government agencies and politicians seem to send the opposite message -- "Let us take care of you". Sometimes it's even to the point of "We will take care of you and you aren't allowed to do otherwise"

Let's hope they don't limit our ability to defend ourselves. My state legislature is hell bent on doing just that. They denied a bill to allow CCL holders to carry in classrooms, and they are going to push through a bill banning all semi-auto rifles even though less semi-auto rifles are used in murders compared to hands or hammers or bats. Brilliant!

Yes, I've heard Colorado is looking at these things, and banning higher-capacity magazines -- interesting to see if Magpul will mag-pull out of Colorado.

Also interesting that they choose to legalize marijuana and criminalize rifles.

The difference was that voters voted on the marijuana bill and voters will not get to vote on any gun control bills. And since the legislature is completely controlled by Dems you can guess what will happen.

Good point. I wonder if one could organize a successful a petition drive to put on the ballot an initiative to forbid new gun laws?
