Does it walk you through the deductions or just the basic version is free ?
TIA . |
i have used it before and its pretty good plus its free... it walks you through the deduction both standard and itemize
what about the guys at express 1040 dot com?
I've used TaxAct free for federal the last 3 years and state for free at the Illinois Dept. of Revenue website.
TaxAct is very easy, you can choose step-by-step or fill the form(s) in line-by-line. Not sure why someone with an uncomplicated tax situation would pay to have their taxes done. |
Does it allow to enter interest/dividend income from saving accounts?
^yes, interest from a savings account is common & simple
i cant finish this tax thing.. this is the first year im filing and it keeps saying my employers state id is wrong.. im COPYING exactly what it says from my w2. doesnt even have the required taxact online numbers
I've used tax act before but I've been using turbo tax federal free edition for the last few years with great satisfaction.

Maybe the W2 is wrong. I would verify it with my employer. |
