Epic insane last minute deals for those who still have Amazon promo coupons for January!

CaptainHero 01-29-2013 07:52 PM

I'll be looking for the Crusader Kings pack tomorrow. Thanks for posting this.

JoMo23 01-29-2013 07:57 PM

The Packs are LIVE now. The 2012 Pack will probably be tomorrow.

tannersarms 01-29-2013 08:05 PM

Damn, it's going to take me until the end of January to decide if I want these!

rowrow 01-29-2013 08:18 PM

I basically have nothing from any of these packs, except magicka
Which combo of packs can I get the most things with the least duplicates?
I was thinking something like war chest pack, and 2012 pack. If everything from the 2012 pack is on steam, I think I would have everything except Defenders of Ardania and Majesty games.

xxxHolic 01-29-2013 11:24 PM

Same pack last year, cheaper with coupon?

bobbyg27 01-29-2013 11:58 PM

Wow. Tu and rep for these deals.

salviadog 01-29-2013 11:59 PM

Sort of want, but reviews on almost all of the games are fairly poor. I'm interested in Defenders of Ardania, but it's at 58% on Metacritic...

PeteyTheStriker 01-30-2013 12:05 AM

Man that warlock game looks good I am really tempted. Repped for now.

chicken_soup_2 01-30-2013 12:37 AM

Does the Magicka Collection have more DLC than listed? It's missing half or so from what I see listed on steam.

What? Crusader Kings 2 is probably the best strategy game ever, definitely the best of 2012. Victoria 2 is awesome. The Dwarves one is a fun little game.

I wish they had individual things discounted, I have something or other of pretty much every package

revere04 01-30-2013 05:44 AM

When will the 2012 pack start?

I'm on eastern standard time in Boston. What time does amazon release new games?

Yeah all of the Crusader King II + DLC for 5 bucks. Hard to beat.

Kiev 01-30-2013 06:00 AM

Victoria II, Hearts of Iron III and Crusader Kings II are the main ones you should go for. The Republic is a new DLC for CK2 that just released within the past 2 weeks and sells for $10 alone.

EU is not in the packs, but the 4th edition is releasing later this year. All of the games I listed are very complex grand strategy games and not for the faint of heart.

I have a Steam activated code for Europa Universalis III: Chronicles for free to the first person that replies to this post and wants it.

dogmatixpsych 01-30-2013 06:02 AM

Thanks, for posting the deal. I second all that's been said about CKII. It has a steep learning curve but it's worth it.

I'm interested in the Europa

So from what I see they give you separate keys for each one?

Thanks

Don't know about the packs, I got the key when they gave out them for free to forum members, but I already owned it. Sent you PM with code.

For anyone who didn't already know, there is a Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings II here:

http://citadel.prophpbb.com/topic2166.html

which according to popular opinion makes CKII by far the best Game of Thrones game available. I'll be picking up the pack for that, and Warlock, which looks awesome for a Civ and fantasy fan like me.

edit: Beware of spoilers if you use the mod!

puddnhead 01-30-2013 07:30 AM

thanks op! Can someone explain what the $5 coupon is? thanks

newroyale 01-30-2013 07:48 AM

cool find thanks

bobjoeb 01-30-2013 08:08 AM

Crusader kings 2 is hands down the best strategy game ever made. I've got over 600 hours played and I haven't even started my run into the new republic dlc. Its so amazing and the perfect game of thrones platform.

I had only a moderate interest in any of these games before you mentioned that GoT pack. I don't really like strategy games, but I have 1 EC coupon left, and $2.50 is worth it just to try this out.

mantis3 01-30-2013 08:23 AM

If you like GoT, get the CK2 pack just for this mod. It's still in development (and has a lot of support) but it's very fun and in-depth.

As great as CK2 is, I can't remember the last time I played actual history and not Westeros/Essos :)

Certain digital download purchases on Amazon last year earned you a $5.00 credit towards select games for the month of January this year.

This:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature....1&plpage=2

jwdanie2 01-30-2013 08:41 AM

Repped. any idea when / if the 2012 package is still coming out?

x1Bocephus1x 01-30-2013 09:18 AM

So how do you get the Steam keys? Does Amazon send to you in invoice after purchase? I've bought digital downloads about a year back and didnt get any steam keys. Thanks

Boursin9 01-30-2013 09:35 AM

I agree with the previous posters...

Crusader Kings 2 is one of the best strategy games ever made. You should get it. Seriously.

And, after playing for about a month you'll be the local expert on Feudalism.

It should be under "Your Games and Software Library" in your account. Then there should be a yellow button next to the game you purchased that should say "View Product Key." There is your steam code :) Hope that helped!

callmewoof 01-30-2013 09:55 AM

I just bought CK2 for $18 last week, and I love it so much that I don't even feel burned by this. I'm going to grab the all expansion packs. So addicted to this game!

Saboth 01-30-2013 10:05 AM

Hmm, I've already got Warlock (it was ok), and Majesty (still haven't played), Magicka (decent). I'm thinking about the plentiful box. It's too bad Crusader Kings 2 doesn't come in the warchest, or it would be perfect.

Log in to your Amazon account and go to "Your Games and Software Library". All your digital download purchases should be listed with a "View Key" button under the title.

Thanks for the info, I wondered of that was the coupon, repped. I actually got this email/credit back on 12/14, and still haven't used the credit. But I would have never guessed that the $5 off applied to the packs mentioned in this deal, because they are not shown on the deal page. So, double thanks for that info, OP!

Question for CKII addicts: I actually already have CKII, a friend talked me into buying it (and is hassling me to start playing it), but I haven't yet. Not a question of not wanting to, but not having time right now; I expect I will soon (and I played CK I so I already have a good idea what game is -- in fact I am one that introduced him to CK). In light of that I was thinking about the Pint sized pack for $2.49. But, should I consider the "Crusader Kings Pack" instead? It seems like there is a lot more CKII dlc in it, and I would get a second copy of the game (for whatever purpose) for only $2.50 more. I owuld lose the Majesty game but that's fine, probably wouldn't use it anyway. Is the additional DLC for CKII in the CK Pack anything that important?

BTW, where is the "Crusader Kings Pack" that OP mentioned at bottom of his post? I can't find it, nor can I find the "Paradox 2012 Pack?" "Tomorrow" in the OP's post means today, right? When do the other deals expire? Don't want to lose out on either the pint sized deal or my $5 coupon ...

it is supposed to be today, but there's still no word on the 2012 pack. see CAG [cheapassgamer.com] for info direct from the source. OP just copy/pasted tony's post from that thread.

Someone please answer this, I only have one coupon left and will hold it for the 2012 pack if it's really coming.

It's coming. The marketing guy is waiting on a buy box and they asked the developer for more keys since they think they will run out of keys once it goes live.

"Still waiting on the product page to have a buy box and need to hear back from Paradox on more keys too, we're going to push it live with our current key inventory but it will run out...quickly, without replenishment.

Last minute deals are so stressful :(.

Cheers,
Tony"

How long will the deals be good for?

Looking at the contents of the "Pint Sized Deal" from a CKII perspective, I'm underwhelmed. Not saying it's not good value, just saying all the DLC included appears to be eye & ear candy only, correct? The true expansion content (something that actually changes gameplay) appears to be absent from this -- ones like Legacy of Rome, Sword of Islam, Republic, Sunset Invasion etc., which are in only in packages that are not available yet.

Am I understanding this correctly?

So...when does it go live and where is the product page? ;)

Nevermind, saw the post above regarding CAG communication.

Either way, it would be nice to have a Paradox landing page to go to.

Sucks, I ordered this already before realizing that it does NOT include all the DLC. It's missing four that were listed as being included in the 2012 pack: Mediterranean Portraits, Songs of Byzantium, Songs of Prosperity and The Republic.

Man, sounds like all hell breaking loose over there. Shame, up until now everything has been flawless...

By the way, for anyone buying the fable bundle, Tony said that if they suddenly add the dlc to the bundle, you won't get them if you bought it early.
Really a shame that they wouldn't do that for people jumping to get the bundle.
I don't think he said there for sure won't be dlc in the bundle added tommorow, so I will be waiting till the last minute.
Anyone who does the same, dont blame me if they run out of keys.

Thanks. The Amazon customer service right? I'll see what I can do after things have settled.

They are releasing it at midnight (pacific time) unless they get the keys before then.

rowrow 01-30-2013 06:24 PM

Crusader kings pack [amazon.com] is back online with all dlc.
If you bought it before when they didn't have all 21 dlc for ck2 in the bundle, contact customer support, they should refund the bundle so you can buy it again with all the dlc.

seeknowsage 01-30-2013 06:26 PM

Is there any easy way I can figure out how many EC coupons I have left on my account? Aside from digging through emails or my digital library and counting how many qualifying purchases I made within a specific time frame?

MentatYP 01-30-2013 06:38 PM

Thanks, OP! Been waiting for a bundle on Crusader Kings II. CKII plus all the DLC for $9.99 is awesome.

Man, do I have to register each key separately on Steam? I'm so lazy :D Not as bad (or good, depending on your perspective) as the THQ bundle in terms of number of keys to register though.

hammurabi1337 01-30-2013 06:53 PM

Heads up, all these except the 2012 one are now officially on the Editor's Choice list.

dhettinger 01-30-2013 07:30 PM

Just picked up the Crusader Kings Pack for 4.99. Thanks so much, I almost bought this on the Steam winter sale, am so glad I waited and was able to use my last credit!

crazindndude 01-30-2013 07:32 PM

What do you guys think the chances are that the CK2 bundle will be back for Amazon's spring sale? I spent way too much money and wanna hold off a bit so I can finish the games I just got

Yes, each DLC has its own code, so 22 codes total. It'll only be a little bit tedious using copy-paste. :)

LIVE Paradox 2012 Ultimate Pack $14.99 (9.99 with coupon)

I still bought the Crusaders pack because I wouldn't buy A Game of Dwarves, Starvoid, War of the Roses, and Warlock for $5.

Paradox 2012 Bundle note:

"We are definitely going to run out of keys for the Paradox pack today (1/31) pretty quickly. I just spoke with my Paradox contact (he's in Iceland, I guess it is later in the day there), they are going to try and get us keys by Friday at the latest and have agreed to keep the promotion up until the end of the day on Saturday. The Editor's Choice coupon will be extended FOR THIS PRODUCT ONLY until the end of the day on Saturday, assuming we get the keys. " - Amazon DVG

nschwemer 01-31-2013 01:39 AM

Bought the 2012 package, $9.99 was too good to pass up, but this is going to take FOREVER to get all these keys into Steam, is there some easy way other than waiting for Amazon to reload the page every time I click "Show Product Key"?

A "Show ALL Product Keys" would go a very long way...

EDIT: And all my product keys keep disappearing and I can't get them to reappear on Amazon! This is really frustrating since I've never had any problems before. And it's all the more frustrating because of how slow the page is, it takes like 30 seconds just to load one product key, and that's if they don't all disappear again.

raymacfla 01-31-2013 01:54 AM

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...ssgam08-20

Just in case you miss it elsewhere. They are supposed to honor the EC coupons past today just for this one item, so don't worry if they run out of keys!

Figures that the page would update once I entered the info! $9.99 is a steal as other have said! Now to check if I have any more coupons for the mop up operation!

Yeah Amazon is always like that when getting the keys, you can click download and it puts the keys on your computer, but it is no faster and still messes up as well.

If you go to buy a product, it will show up as a discount there before you make the final purchase. Alternatively, it *looks* to me like it shows up in your digital downloads credits, which you can check here [amazon.com]

I took:
Sword of Islam
The Republic
Legacy of Rome
Byzantine Unit

Now I feel a little guilty, didn't expect them all to work.
So I created this account to pay it forward.

Titan Quest: I0XKR-EG2FI-ZRQ50
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: 96VIQ-8RDZK-KI673

Left over stuff from the last humble bundle.

I'm assuming someone took CK2 without letting anyone know. I can't check because I don't have Steam running at home so I can't try to activate it remotely. Thanks anyway. I'll keep checking back to see if they get more 2012 packs.

Edit: never mind. Thought the 2012 pack came with the War of the Roses base game, but it does not. Just gonna go for the CK pack, which I only want for the GoT mod anyway.

From Tony on CAG:

spince 01-31-2013 07:09 AM

Hmm, looking more closely all I wanted was CK2: Complete, and there's plenty of keys for that, not to mention it works on steam, so that works out for me and I'll just grab that.

nightside187 01-31-2013 07:09 AM

Im missing 8 dlc keys, game are in my library but no option the view the product key.
The base game for war of the roses is missing, i found this weird since all dlc are included and the bundle is named Paradox 2012 Ultimate Pack.

Yup. Although I doubt that would happen. Tony seems to be doing his best to ensure that everyone who wants one will get a $10 2012 bundle by the weekend. If you're worried, though, the other bundles in the OP for between $2.50 and $5 after coupon are really good deals as well. I personally only really want CK2 and Warlock with their DLC. Maybe Victoria 2. I think I'll grab a Warchest today, and then the 2012 bundle whenever they get the keys in.

beundertaker 01-31-2013 08:30 AM

how is pirates of the black cove?

annihilator 01-31-2013 08:35 AM

I should also add that Amazon is really at the mercy of the publishers when it comes to getting keys for digital downloads. Tony told everyone a while back that the Fable bundle currently on the Editor's Choice list would have all the DLC for Fable 3 when it went live, making the deal (I believe) $5 after coupon for Fable 3+all DLC and Fable Lost Chapters. Some people bought the bundle as soon as it went live...turns out there was no DLC. MS wasn't able to get the issues with the keys sorted out in time, so Amazon wasn't able to include them. I know some people felt screwed over by that, but there wasn't anything Amazon could have done about it.

So, to sum up, it is a bit of a gamble if you wait till Friday or Saturday to use your last coupon. Personally, I'm not worried about it.

Damn too late. Already got the CK pack. And I was out of EC coupons so had to pay "full price." WotR looks like more my my kind of game but oh well.

Gravislord 01-31-2013 10:39 AM

I had ordered this just after it went live, but Amazon thought my account was compromised and when I woke up, the order was cancelled. It was delayed due to their processing issues (at least that was what the screen said) and I was told not to order it again (again, because the system thought the order went through). Serves me right for trying to order it from my Tablet lol.

Now I just need to be patient and catch this once it goes live again, even though I already have many of the items in the bundle, I just like to have complete games / DLC.

This is disgusting ! These are Digital Copies of the product and Amazon couldnt distiubute keys !!! WTF I think Amazon is really starting to lose their touch, just like steam did. Get too big and then boom someone else will steal the market. I see alot of good happenings on the Greenmangaming site. I know they will soon surpass Amazon and become the next big vendor of not already ahead.

Even though they're digital copies, the publisher of the game still needs to send keys to Amazon, and when they don't, Amazon can't sell the game. Amazon can't just create digital keys to the game themselves. Check Steam itself, and you'll see the same kind of words on the games' Steam pages. The publisher is not sending keys out very quickly, so Amazon is having issues. It's not Amazon's fault by any means.

Wrong. Lack of keys is the developer's fault, not Amazon.

not sure if serious? Amazon's market cap is probably 5000 times larger than GMG. And as previously said, if GMG can't even get half of their potential consumers Credit Card Transactions to go through, how will they ever even come close to Amazon?

Lack of keys is Amazon's fault for not making sure that the company they're dealing with can come thru for them. Somewhere in the negotiations with the company the question should have been asked 'so, do you have enough steam keys for us to sell?', and when Paradox said 'oh, yeah, sure', Amazon should have verified that.

While it is always nice to get everything taken care of prior to a sale being activated, I refuse to blame Amazon for trying to squeeze in more deals for this month.

Let's hope they work on removing these type of issues in the future by improving processes, etc...

I bought it for the games themselves! There were so many other bundles with "Complete" versions, that it is splitting hairs to complain about the lack of DLC in a few instances. Amazon did a superb job of pleasing the customer. They certainly pleased me. It was like Amazon gave you two distinct choices. 1. A beautiful woman with cash back incentives, who also alerted you to her other, more inexpensive charms, or, 2. Gabe Newell in a moo-moo selling "full price freddy" packages of Winter sale rejects.

I have to step up and join everyone else in saying you are just not right at all here.

It is not Amazon's fault the developer did not give them enough keys to go around. Stop blaming Amazon because you're upset you didn't get a key. "Amazon should have verified that." And how exactly were they supposed to verify that? By looking into the future? Neither Amazon, nor the developer, is obligated to provide a key for everyone. Have you ever heard the term "first come first served," or "while supplies last"? Amazon is trying to get keys for everyone who wants them, and even extending the Editors' Choice coupon for a day in case the developer does not follow through. If you ask me, that's the sign of a company that does care about its customers.

@McDrew, totally agree.. You said it best :"Amazon is trying to get keys for everyone who wants them, and even extending the Editors' Choice coupon for a day in case the developer does not follow through. If you ask me, that's the sign of a company that does care about its customers."

That says it all right there about Amazon and the quality of the people working there. One of the reasons why I shop primarily with Amazon...

i'm actually not upset, and i love love love amazon, and i agree that they care for their customers and they're trying to help and do a good thing here. but they did kinda fail. and it's not really a 'provide a key for everyone' kind of fail; it's more of a 'provide a key for everyone who woke up at 2 or 3 am to grab one of the sets that was available for like an hour' kind of fail. meanwhile, microsoft has been selling tons and tons of their arcade packs without issue.

...time passes... a certain date comes...

small co: hey walmart, here's 2000 of those gizmos.

walmart: .... 500.000?

small co: no, just 2000.

walmart to the 10s of thousands of people who wanted the advertised gizmo: it's not our fault. blame these other guys.

I know they will soon surpass Amazon and become the next big vendor of not already ahead.

Is the GMG where it's pretty much impossible to buy anything? Yeah, I'm sure they'll be the next Amazon.

Or maybe you're just lashing out like a child who can't get what they want would.

So much sour grapes. You didn't get one now you're having a hissy fit. Poor you.

Look, I get it, but it doesn't matter if it's 2 or 3 in the morning or 2 or 3 in the afternoon the next day: the developer provided x number of keys, and they run out when they run out. I understand where you're coming from, but even your Wal*Mart scenario is backwards. It is not the people who should be mad at Wal*Mart. It is Wal*Mart who should be mad at the small company for failing to come through. Wal*Mart has the right to be mad because they made a deal with the small company. Wal*Mart made no deal with the people that they would have enough for everybody. Wal*Mart is not asking the people to place the blame elsewhere, just that the people forgive them for not having the supply they expected. And in any case, the people would never know how big of a supply Wal*Mart expected to have anyway. Furthermore, let us not compare Wal*Mart to Amazon. Wal*Mart is not a company that I view as caring about their customers. Wal*Mart knows that they will have customers (not me if I can help it) regardless of whether or not their suppliers come through with the quantity they ordered. Wal*Mart also has the ability to make their suppliers sign a contract requiring them to fulfill the entire order, or else suffer a penalty. (e.g. You give us 500,000, or we give you a smaller cut of the profits.) Amazon has that ability, too, but there is less leverage when they are trying to make a deal with Paradox to practically give these games out for free.

Hahaha No I am sorry I use PayPal not old technology. I have never had an issue with GMG. If you are still using your credit card for your purchases I am pretty sure you still play Nintendo, use Cashier Checks, and eat mallow cups. just my 0.02

I cant believe you are OK with this.I am not whining like a little bitch, I was expecting a major company like AMAZON to come through with this deal. So am I upset? yeah sure, so is many other SD'ers that were expecting a company to come through with this deal. Is it Amazons fault? absolutlety, and Paradox shares the same blame.

JoMo23 02-01-2013 12:30 AM

It was a last minute deal that was made between Paradox and Amazon. It's an amazing price (The Paradox 2012 bundle) for all that you get. It's unfortunate they ran out of keys so quickly though. They are working on getting more and will have them today hopefully.

Yeah, "new technology" PayPal, which GMG also routinely block, where they can take your money for any reason they like, with no recourse. I'll stick with a credit card (and a bank account), thanks, where Federal law is stacked in my favor.

Going by your tone and attitude, I'm guessing you're like 15 or 16. Is that why you don't use credit cards?

If using credit cards online seems like old tech to you, you must be really young because 20 years ago you couldn't even buy stuff online.

Maybe once you're old enough to actually have a credit card you'll see why people use them.

Spoken by a person who is too inexperienced to have ever needed to dispute charges or use purchase protection, I am guessing. And not financially sophisticated enough to get a 3-5% reduction in everything they buy at amazon via cashback.

Got to say that this is most important reason I use CC for every purchase. When you pay balance off each month, a CC is one of the strongest tools you can use as a consumer. For example, Newegg sent me a defective hardware component once. They said I would have 15% restocking fee to return it. Called CC and disputed the charge saying item I received was faulty. The CC company took care of it from there and I had a full refund. The Cash back cards are also a major benefit.

Back on topic, the Warlock game is a great game for those who like Civilization type games. Love it after about 6 hours of play last night. Truly kept me going for "one more turn" until 2am last night. Made 6am alarm a bit painful. Very glad to have gotten it in the pack I bought.

McLovin52 02-01-2013 07:33 AM

Does anyone know if they are still expecting more keys for the 2012 Ultimate Bundle? As a Civ 5 fan, I really wanted Warlock, and the other games in that pack were of more interest to me than the ones in the "Majesty Franchise" bundle (my friend convinced me that CK2 is incredible). So I was holding out for the Ultimate Bundle, but now the Majesty Franchise bundle has gone back up to $99.90.

Tony has always been reliable and he says it probably will happen. The promo coupon will work for it too, for every other item the sale ended yesterday.

McLovin52 02-01-2013 08:05 AM

Thanks. I don't have a promo coupon, but I still thought $15 was a good deal for that pack.

Yeah it's a deal either way, but that's why the other packs are up over $100, the sale is technically over.

Gravislord 02-01-2013 05:41 PM

Does anyone know any updates on this, as to when it will go back on sale?

nolf66 02-02-2013 03:32 AM

Last day and no keys. Saved 2 coupons for nothing.

hammurabi1337 02-02-2013 05:57 PM

So is this really not happening? Sad face.

Gravislord 02-02-2013 06:05 PM

Did Tony from Amazon say that?

NoobAdviceP6934 02-03-2013 02:22 PM

Did it ever work for anyone on Friday or Saturday?

Gravislord 02-03-2013 03:12 PM

For me, everytime I looked, it was always Unavailable.

NoobAdviceP6934 02-05-2013 03:42 PM

@Amazon or @SlickDeals or @Paradox reps:
Will this deal be coming back at the same price in the near future?

Oh :(
I really wanted those CK2 DLCs

Gravislord 02-15-2013 11:23 AM

I was kinda bummed I got screwed by Amazon out of the big bundle (I bought it but Amazon thought it was fraudulent since I used my tablet browser to purchase it in - found out in the morning when I woke up). And now it won't come back to next year / xmas ;). Oh well. Shame I saved coupons for it too.
