These are the drill bits from the $2.97 tree.

I personally feel this kit is a better deal for a bout a dollar more. Doesn't matter what coating it is. The Ryobi kit is the same as the Kobalt kit from Lowes and I cracked them easy.

Looks like that is a 2 pack so makes it a $ cheaper per pack

moral of the story is the deal in the op sucks.

I'm pretty sure the one one Cozz has linked is just two 5/64in drill bits, and not a bit set. The description says drill bit (not drill bit set). And if you search for Milwaukee Titanium bits on amazon they come out to $10 for a 3/8in piece or $33 for a set.

My mistake. Something isn't right at the website. I didn't know they even had a 2 pack bit set and it's the only size labeled 2 pack. When I do the search for the kit, it doesn't pop up anywhere on the site other than that link.

Please disregard

It's annoying when stores show misleading pictures like that. Too bad it wasn't the whole set x2, it would have been headed to the FP for sure.

I needed some extra drill bits to put in my drill case. In for one.
Thanks OP! TU and repped.

Edit: Dang! They cancelled my order!

McRofles 01-30-2013 08:31 AM

Oh no. Getting flash backs to the Dewalt HD deal from a few weeks ago. Hope they actually honor this price

dahdahdah 01-30-2013 08:53 AM

great, I will give them as a gift to my dentist...

getwilde 01-30-2013 09:56 AM

This is arguably a better deal... price per bit, anyway.

Just went to Home Depot, and while there I looked at these bits. They were marked as "new price $2.97". I decided that the packaging was worth more than these tiny drill bits, and passed on picking them up.

These bits at Walmart are usually a Lowes Black Friday deal.

mastiguru 01-30-2013 12:39 PM

There were quite a few left on the shelf at my local HD, the shelf price is $3.97. The largest bit is 3/16", so they're the real small ones. Though,I guess those are the bits most likely to break and need replacing.

I hope so m8. The Kobalts are horrible. The wear own rate is actually pretty good. But they crack too easily. I think they're too stiff. Maybe a drill press setup where nothing moves but not a hand drill. I did have a Ryobi bit set and completely matched a Kobalt set at lowes. Even down the case design if I remember correctly. It's why I assumed they're simply repackaged brands.

tamade 01-30-2013 07:51 PM

I was gonna buy these, but they were a little too small for me. They had the Ryobi 14 piece drill bit set for $7.97.

MizteriouzA 01-30-2013 10:41 PM

in for 1 THXS!

tamade 01-31-2013 04:24 AM

Btw, the original price is $3.97...
